I hope you find something useful & enjoy from this video!
I am happy to receive your feedbacks, advices, suggestions to improve myself.
During the actual repair of this cutter we also had a lot of difficulties and challenges because they were old, most of the plastic was weakened.
!!! I apologize for the mistake if I have made in this restoration !!!
Thank You so much follow me
I wouldn't trust such a rusty tank for a second without testing it.
I'd be more worried about what the inside of the tank looks like, than the outside. Somebody needs to track this guy down, and take that great big hammer away from him.
Will it hold up to a pressure test?
It’s best to heat cast iron, then weld it, and immediately bury it in sand so it can cool slowly. That will give you a much better chance of a successful, strong weld.

i like living...And I have seen rusty Air Compressors Explode!!
My man..hammering the bearing will damage it. And also the will dry out. You need to remove the plastic zo the bearing can get lubrication from the motor oil
A little tip, when you connect the wires, put the cords in on the left side of the screws, because then the screws will pull the cords in, if you put the cords (as you was doing) on the right side of the screws, then the screws will push the cords out. By the way, a nice job.
That's a great video. I will always cheer for you in Korea I'm looking forward to a great video. Have a nice day.

Great job new life to old compressor
I rebuild compressors , and have done for over thirty years, looking at the way that pump is working, I would say that your not pumping efficiently, the valves need sorting out, it's only pumping at 55%
I almost became an air compressor repair man and builder but never was able to do it

There was no inspection of the INSIDE of the tank. Air compressors are extremely dangerous as they can explode if rusted from lack of maintanence and care. Recently one of my cousins was killed by one of these. This is no joke!!!
I’m sorry for your loss I just attended my grandpa’s/PawPaw’s funeral by the time of me making this comment I know that feeling all too well but don’t let your cousin’s death pull you down he knows that it’s just fate playing it’s role and he sees you and your family are going to have a great life you deserve to have your cousin and you will have a great rest of your life Amen

I’m sorry sir but pressure receivers air tanks do not explode due to rust in them. They always have rust in them. The only way an air receiver will rupture is in a overpressurization situation.
Agree with all comments. Heat a bearing , cool the shaft and it will drop on. Opposite for fitting in a case. Spent my life stripping and repairing well used machinery of all types, wish I had known about that magic spray that made nuts and studs free so easily when rusted in. Finally, hope the pressure test on that rusty pressure tank went well!. But interesting video.
Good job my Friend
You forgot the belt cover
Safety is verry importante
Hi welcome to Thailand ❤️💕💕
Well done. 👍 Btw, thanks for not insulting our intelligence by showing a compressor that you
"just happened to find" sitting in a field for years-but with green grass/plants still growing under it.
Great restoration. After all that I hope the tank is gd on the inside.
Conte conosco, José! Obrigado pelo trabalho, incansável! Que venha 2024 e seus desafios!
amazing work. thanks for sharing 🙏🙏👍
thank you

An excellent painstaking restoration my friend as to the inside of the tank rust I'm no air compressor expert so I cannot comment good or bad
but I felt you did an excellent job a very very time consuming job with an excellent outcome. It looked really good after you succeeded in restoring this old junked machine.
Loves battering stuff with the hammer ! ,and we all knew what was going to happen with the puller and the big pulley.......bit of heat and it would have fell off....
I would use a new tank....
No hydraulic pressure test on that air tank = a bomb!!
not needed in Vietnam. If it works when u buy it, its all yours ! lol
This is 'Nam, baby!! No need to do it! 🤣🤣

You know to pull from close in to the shaft as possible. Unfortunately those old pulleys are brittle.

I love your signature colors

Wonder how long those bearings are gonna last after that beating.
... and how a 2Rs bearing can be lubricated from the outside when the dirt guard is still fitted

No doubt that was painful to watch
Always put some oil on your Piston rings , will help with install and keep them from scoring at first start up.

That crack. You can just weld over it and grind it down, but it'll cause a vibration. Better would be to grind both sides to a wedge and close the gap, then fill it with weld and grind it smooth. That would ensure the roundness of the wheel and reduce vibration.

Nice work on the air compressor.. I'll give you some advice, you need to restore that wheel 🛞 barrow the first chance you get, so you can haul more stuff home to restore...😊
Nice to see others like bringing back old like l,,, l just did a speedair 4 cylinder compressor puts out 38 CFM,, was happy to see American eagle is still making them and the compressor alone sells for 6000 dollars l payed 125.
Excellent restoration. Well done. Although it needed a new engine I was impressed with how solid and well made the machine was. I am sure those elderly people will be amazed by your work.
Lots of work but you never mentioned if you had the air tank tested to be sure it won’t blow from internal rust that all those tanks get over time.
Are you going to trust that tank it will most likly explode from the pressure and the amount of rust it should be hydrostatically tested befor use
If the tank is heavily rusted on the inside that thing is a timed bomb.
No, it’s not
No, it’s not
@@rotarycomptech yes it is
@@necsoiub i’ve been in the field for over 30 years air receivers. Do not rupture due to rust. Sorry it’s always over pressurization.
The tanks are always full of rusty water and rust. Do you really think a tank manufacture is going to make a tank that’s going to rupture because of rust being in the bottom of it. If this was the case, this sure would be happening a lot but it only happens to a very small little air compressors why? ?
The little compressor is running along and it’s starting and stopping using the pressure switch contacts.then one day the contacts weld them self shut or closed. Then you have a runaway air compressor. The only thing to keep the tank from exploding at this point is the pressure relief valve. If that fails, the tank will explode or maybe the discharge line might blow off to save the tank from exploding and that is how that happens.
What is the condition of the inside of the tank. Hope it does not explode some day.

super grate job dude
How were you confident that the tank would hold up to pressure after being allowed to rust away. No doubt there was water in that tank that evaporated. I wouldn't want to be near that tank when it decides that 175 psi is a bit too much
I could see that pulley breaking. A little heat would have likely prevented that.
Did you pressure test that tank before doing all that beautiful work?
A fraudster…. 🙄 didn’t - ⚠️, 😠
THANKIOU
Sweet 👍🏻 👍🏻
Good hit 👍🏻👍🏻 🇮🇳 || Kuki 06|01|2022
Typically the tank will rust at the bottom from the inside out. There is a drain valve at the bottom to drain water that condenses in use. Even so they will rust. The compression may look like new on the outside, but it could literally explode like a bomb !
Totally agree,
Used tanks should always be tested.
I always would test used tanks with hydrolic pressure (water) to factory specs and insure they hold pressure for several hours.
That receiver could be dangerous, I would never use anything like that without a proper pressure test
Sorry sir but tanks don’t explode due to corrosion or rust. It’s always over pressurization that causes them to rupture
Are you serious! A pressure vessel has to be tested (hydraulically to at least its rated working pressure @@rotarycomptech
@@johnwilson6298 yes I am serious and yes I was in the field for over 30 years. I know what I’m talking about.

Why you not removed the all ball bearing ZZ dust O ring OF THE bearing it will stop lubrication when you filled oil to compressor the oil will not lubricants the bearing and the inner ball bearing shall , it will the case overheating of bearings , and your compressor crank gets jarm so remove the bearing O ring seal when installing in compressor where oil lubricants the bearing.
good job.
Compressor does not look old but looks like it has been in a corrosive environment. Cheap single stage probably thrown away when the valves went out.
I don't know if it frightens the natives but, by God, it terrifies me!!!

Looks good , you need a one way pop off valve to relieve pressure on head for start up , the back pressure is fighting your pistons on start up.
٠
It's installed at 39:42
I never heard of a one-way pop off valve and I’ve been in this field for over 30 years. Please explain.
@@rotarycomptech actually called unloader valve, relives all the pressure from pump cylinders so it's not fighting pistons on next start up,, always placed in pipe from pump too tank also keeps pressure from leaving tank going back to pump.
@@georgespangler1517 oh wow thanks for the information I didn’t know that.
nice job,but skill level is not so high... hitting ball bearing with hammer to the outer ring - NO...piston needs oiling befote putting it in cylinder, othervise makes scratches...heatting up this part you killed with bearing puller will save its life.....little pipe has cone on its end and dont needs teflon tape to be sealed connection...teflon tape allways goes clockwise ...etc..still-good job sir !

Seriously, who cares about all the unbolting and rebolting? It was a bit tedious. The actual fixing is more interesting. For example, how did you inspect and clean the pressure gauge? Also, sorry about your busted pulley, but anyone could have seen that coming from a mile away.

beautiful job BUT. no pressure check of the tank??? it could become a large quantity of cobalt blue shrapnel. also no balancing of the drive wheel. if it's unbalanced it could tear itself apart.
That compressor is not safe to use. Under pressure that old rusted tank can explode.
