Ben that door latch idea that you had was visionary dude! It’s things like that that makes a good build into a great build! You’ve already got a good reputation after fixing the Goonz Trackhawk and then rebuilding that almost “impossible’ McLaren, so very big respect to you buddy! 🙏
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
Visionary, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.. We have been doing it 20 years already..
Ive never seen it done, so....
@@mixalis6168 who is “we”?
@@mixalis6168 ok boomer
DUDE! Massive kudos to the door lock mods and the bumper! Glad you're making strides on the mustang, when this car is completely finished and built by you and only you! You will be a straight up legend!
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
Yes, both impressive and innovative. V-tuned is certainly a cut above the average CZcamsr…
@@philtucker1224 V-tuned is certainly a cut above the average CZcamsr? Cutting up a classic car like a madman. Car is worthless now
@@nascarman38n88 I think some CZcamsrs are desperate to generate content that will maintain or increase their subs. Mustangs, particularly the 6 cylinder (non fastback) variants don’t carry much value as a standard motor. The advertising revenue that he gets is probably far greater..
I know this build has been a pain for you but I really love watching this progress. Can’t wait to see it finished! The Sentra door latch and weather strip was genius 😂
Finished ?? He’s never finished a build. He’s just blah blah blahhhhhsssssss
@@davidclarke9676 Get a life. Build people up, don't break them down. This is a monumental task that he's taking on all by HIMSELF. Have a little respect.
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
@@nickp3173 this guy obviously never done a huge project himself because these "projects" burn you out and then you have to refind your motivation again
@@davidclarke9676 Really, you can never really finish a build, there is Always one thing or another.....
Ben, you shined big time today. You tackled the biggest problem 60’s era mustang owners had and have with their cars. You did this perfectly. Color me very impressed. You are the real deal. Thanks for all the great videos and keep up the great work.
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
Cutting a classic car up like a madman fixed it. Car is worthless now
That latch swap confirms that your skills are on another level. Never saw that coming.
it's basic as fuck.
The reason they came with a big gap behind the bumper was to prevent quarter panel damage in light collisions. While tight gaps look great ur 1/4 is gonna get damaged real easy.
Replacing that door latch with a more modern one and getting power door locks out of it at the same time is “next level” type thinking. Great video!
No wonder I haven’t seen you for three days
On the rear valance usually what people do is put a relief cut on each end and you can adjust the gap to make it fit a lot better like that. Coming along nice btw!
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
Ben, you are so confident now compared to when you started, it's such a pleasure to see you progressing so well. This build is mad. Wish you well for the future.
Good job on that rear bumper Ben! Fabricating is your main strength and it shows. Been following you for a while and you're a perfectionist.
Fabricating is your main strength and it shows? Cutting up a classic car that is worthless now. lol
Great work today! It looks like the trunklid has a slight upwards lift a foot in from the left end,and that's what turned the lip in.You and the bros will give it a tweek and it'll set right. Can't wait for paint !
from a repair channel to a custom channel. Keep it up Vtuned! You're doing great
Great work, I had a 65 Mustang in the past and it never had a good line or gaps but always got complements driving around. Perfect vehicle to push to the next level.
Not one does from factory.. gaps, frenching bumpers and so on, has been done for over 50 years !!!
@@mixalis6168 Agreed. It's amazing how ignorant the viewership of the car restoration side of CZcams is. It seems to be populated by kids who know nothing and have no clue what they're doing yet people watch anyway.
That door latch mod is a great idea. The door latch and striker is a chronic problem on these cars. I got one of the tight fit fiberglass rear bumpers. I got completely burned out on metal work on my car.
I think Ford left that gap big because you can lean on the rear bumper and it will start to fold up. I think they were hoping to try and prevent more damage back there in a hit but in any rear bumper hit it happens anyway just about every time.
I had to cut thin end plates and weld on to my rear valance on both ends to tighten up that gap to the quarter panel. You lucked out on your deck lid for it to fit that well. I had to slice into mine on both sides and the line to the fill panel at the base of the rear glass and re-make those lines to get them to gap properly.
That bumper looks really good. I have mixed feelings about welding on the lower piece
Loving seeing the South Tennessee "engineering" at work.... especially that rear bumper, but the door as well. Good job. 😎
Great work on both the door latch and bumper! Love seeing how you work the problem and figure out how to make it better. Keep taking your time on this build and it will turn out amazing
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
Looks GREAT!!! Didn't think I would like the square corners on the bumper but after you did it...I love it! NICE work on the door locks as well!
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
Bumper came out nice! Don't forget to do the passenger door for the handle, love that idea! Getting close keep up the great work 💪
Very customized work. Love your ideas and how you are taking everything you build to a whole nother level!
Awesome work! Love that bumper modification and the door latches and like you mentioned before also a modern latch for hood.
I love what you have done with the back bumper all the gaps are looking perfect. The door latches are an amazing idea and job. ❤🇨🇦
You are truly blessed with some amazing skills!! The way that door lock got fitted is godly. Can't wait to see this finished!!
Amen.....
Great idea on the door latches, a nice modern touch and reliable too. Very good fab work on the bumper, a lot of work but going to look amazing when you get it all done.
Dang V, sweet custom work on that bumper and those door latches! When this thing is all in paint it's going to be so clean!
11:27 channeling your inner chip foose...he does that a lot. Up, tuck and tight. Makes the whole thing a LOT nicer than factory.
Love watching your visions become reality. Awesome metal work Ben ! Gonna look so good once its painted !
Great job, you are giving yourself a priceless education in metal work.
Looking better every time, congrats. The latches look awesome
The reason for the big gaps around the bumper is so that if the bumper is hit, it can move some distance before hitting the bodywork. So in a light hit, the bodywork is less likely to be damaged. Back in the old days, bumpers served the purpose that they were designed for. Not like with modern cars where the bumpers are just for show.
The door lock swap was impressive. Fits like factory. Great job man
czcams.com/video/Hax_5Vtrvk8/video.html
That door lock and latch genius. Then using the weatherstripping who would’ve thunk. Bumper looks awesome and I think welding up that Rear valance the to the quarter panel will make it Look amazing. You’re doing great work love the channel.
Luv the door latch. Bumper is outrageous !
Good to see you’ve slowed down to think about things a bit more clearly and getting good results as a result , keep cracking dude , kudos from the uk
Beautiful work. It’s looking really good. Those old bumpers had those big gaps because they were truly bumpers. They didn’t have the hydraulic shocks to absorb movement like today’s cars. Those old bumpers had to resist movement. So that’s why they had those big gaps so the bumpers wouldn’t hit the body panels on the car.
Nissan centra door latch and weather stripping is genius
As always impressive work. I've never seen a Mustang bumper look that good.
Awesome job on the bumper and door latch, looks amazing! Don't worry about it taking time, do it right like in this episode and we'll be happy to be along for the ride no matter how long it takes.
Attention to detail is on point. Don’t lose sight and cut corners towards the end of the build
Man you made it a lot better. You are a customizer now. You dont have to chrome it you can just smooth it up with a little bit of filler and paint it. You could get rid of the seam or gap at the bottom like you were talking about at the end it would look real nice then. These cars fixed up bring a lot of money. Like 30 or 40 grand maybe fifty. You could do the body flares. That would be a lot of work though. Like you said you have to figure it out as you go so it is going to take some good amount of time. It just takes time that is all that is why the guy wanted $12,000 to do it. Body flairs are cool but damn thye take a lot of time. You just gotta know it will take longer to finish but it would be worth it if you dont get discouraged or dont have the money. You would have to work on other cars for money along the way.
That bumper looks insane!! Amazing work Ben! Thoroughly impressed! Also what a great idea with the door latch 👌
This build is almost there! Can’t wait to see it finished. Great job
Your ability to imagine something, execute it and make it a reality is amazing. Keep up the work.
The artist at work v tune awesome job on the bumper and the door locks nice job on the gaps, car is looking great. 👍👍👍
Time well spent on that bumper, came out awesome.
That door latch turned out pretty good.
Takes LONG but man do I love this built!!! Waiting for the next part is the best waiting I can imagine. wow!!!!
bumper will look slick on that once you straighten up the shut lines, nissan door locks are genius, door sounds great cos its a proper old car with good new tech holding it together
Nice door latch 👌 I was gonna suggest on the corner piece move the corner and add a straight piece but your version looks great 👍gonna be nice ☮️
Take the trunk release from the Sentra and have a power trunk as well
This is great, I have a 91 toyota pickup I put a lexus 1uzfe in, wanted the steering and suspension to be more updated and ended up using a mustang 2 rack and pinion, hubs, and some custom qa1 suspension to finish it all off. I really like when people use parts that you would have never thought would work. Your doing great man
I can't wait to see the " Franken-Stang " Completed
Nice old Mustang. Hope it gets restored.
Love the new door latching and rear bumper. Nice job!👍
This is the type of content that interests me. The creativity, skill, and THE LOOK of this build is morale pumping !!!
That door lock transplant is epic!!!.... watching from Ndola Zambia 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲
Now some other people fixing a car they call it a built. Well......this is a built. Keep up the great job. You are very talented.
Ben, I could watch you all day! You explain everything to a tee ! I am 87 years old and in a wheelchair full time. In my young years I restored 65 &66 Mustangs and was a National Judge, did motorcycles , Tractors plus many other things. You my friend are a pleasure to watch! I wish I had the opportunity to talk to you on the phone Jim In New Mexico
Great progress mate 👍👊. Looking forward to the bodywork, painting and assembly.
Awesome to see after 4 years of doing Mustang videos your almost there! I've been here through it all! Awesome progress and it's gonna well worth it!
You should make a mould of it when it’s finished and create fibreglass ones to sell. I think it would be great because it would fit well and wouldn’t need much adjustment. You would sell heaps of them👍🏻 great work mate, it’s coming along awesomely.
I’m digging the tightened up rear bumper and I think welding the rear valance to the car will look clean.
Super work on that rear bumper, it’s a very subtle difference in the grand scheme of things but brilliant that you took the time to step it up a level. The latches are also a nice touch. We’ll do e and keep it going man!
Genius idea Ben!That what makes this mustang a Vtuned model
Gaps look great man!, that is usually a nightmare on old cars, and really bad if you're fighting reproduction sheetmetal. Massive respect on the latch and bumper mods too..most would not spend the time. The custom bumpers would be amazing rechromed.
That's a mighty fine looking rear end!
Awesome job with the bumper, and door latch! This project is worth taking your time, you going to have a sick looking car!!
Great job...I really liked the modification of the door locks and the modification of the bumper .
Now you're cooking Ben! You're getting that fired up motivation back! Looking sooo good! Finish line is inching closer, and closer. Keep it up!
Ben...just like watching you work. Thank you for the content. People who know, know that you are one of the best frame and body guys out there.
Chip Foose would definitely give you a thumbs up on your bumper work, the door upgrade was brilliant 👍
To go along with your Nissan latch, I would consider using the outside door handle. I would be just a matter of cutting out the handle area from the Nissan door and grafting it into the Mustang door. Just a thought. God bless and stay well.
From Mustang to Benstang. 👍 The only one in the world.
No dought people will bow down when they see you roll up V, 💯
Hope to see it down in Mexico 🍻🍻🍻
This was definitely one of your better videos! Really impressive work Ben!
Beautiful custom work on the hinges and bumper 😊
Love the bumper mod! Just a thought, can you incorporate the taillight extent to the bumper and make it look seamless? The door latch & seals are nothing short of genius. See you in the next installment.
this episode was special, awesome ideas, looking forward for the finishing touches!
Gaps are looking MINT! keep it up Ben!
Way to go vtuned! Cant wait to hear that stang roars!
Usually with a custom build like this you build the whole car, drive it to find the bugs fix them then blow the car apart for body and paint.
Nice 😁 can't wait for the filler and paint. A popular color for the car would be the choice.
Nice perfect fabrication in the right places. Did a really nice Job. Seriously
Its the attention to the small details that will set this car apart from the rest Ben. Great job on the bumper, looks snug as a bug with the body work now!
Door lock idea is SICK!!
I'm loving this mustang sentra project. Keep the awesome work!
Awesome job you make look so easy and blending in the bumper looks so much better can't wait to see the end result keep. Up the good work 👏👏👏
Good job on that back end vTuned. It’s starting to look really good 👍
You need to invest in a sand blaster, it would save so much time getting all that surface rust off vs grinding it before painting
Love the family collaborations!! Y'all have some skillz!!!
Lots of finessing on that bumper.
Lookin good dude. You did a great job on the bumper. Those door locks are sweet to 👌
Some solid progress V, well done!!!!!!
Very NICE Ben! You might want to look at the front bumper too! They dont fit that great! With the flares Im betting yo can do a awesome job! Id start with round bar and form it to the shape you want then use some flat sheet metal to go over the round bar.
For a future build , look into getting a 1972 Ford Ranchero. The big grill on it makes the meanest looking model. You can put a V-6 Supercharged motor in it or a Boss 302 with fam air induction with a 160,000 volt super coil . With a dual point distributor or go with a super hot modern ignition system. But they make a very good Drift car because the rear end is so very light!
Love the work Ben , keep it up the car will be a “show piece “ when it’s all done !
great stuff with the door latch :)
Ben, I am happy to see your renewed energy for the Mustang. I love that you are paying so much attention to fit and finish. That is the difference between a good car and a great car. I look forward to the first pulls!
Need to see ya mug (Aussie for face) on the tube again. Love all the videos and really looking forward to seeing some work on the Mustang. Keep the videos coming Ben. best regards from Downunder.
