I too think that Shredder planned to do that from the get go, and I also agree that the Casey and Mikey moment at the end clashes with the tone. Though once you see the next episode you might feel differently 🤔.

What I do know is that in comic con back in 2015, the executive producer of this show ciro nieli tells that the reason why splinter dies is because the characters live and die by their source and they have to show those consequences. Thats what he says.

i loved how splinter went to as the foot for help, seeing splinter and shredder fight side by side was a spectacular sight to see making where shredder betrays him all the more impactful.
it also shows how vendetta has really fully clouded his mind
I love when good guys and bad guys work together to fight bigger enemy, I didn't expected that Shredder will do what he did though. I wonder what will happen next.

I remember when I first saw Fugitoid off of a CZcams video that Nickelodeon posted, and I was like, ‘who is this guy, and what does he have to do with the Turtles?’. I didn’t even know he was a character in the 2003 series, but when the season 3 finale for this show came out, I was like ‘oh it’s that guy’.

Rip Earth!🥲🥲 Also I don't think Shredder planned it, I think it was more emotional just he had a good opportunity to kill him and couldn't resist his desire for revenge because if he planned that he basically planned for himself to be killed which I don't think is like him. That not to say that I never thought Shredder would betray Splinter I thought Shredder would plan to betray Splinter right after they succeded in fighting of the invasion but his emotion made him kill Splinter early.

This episode is absolutely CRAZY! I especially love the last 5 minutes of the episode.
My thoughts on the individual Turtles:
Leonardo; I like him, especially in the first two seasons, but I don't like how he is favorited by splinter and rarely bonds with Donatello or Casey Jones.
Donatello; I like him, but I don't like how he makes April feel uncomfortable because of his crush on April. I also don't like his Intuition.
Raphael; I like him, especially in seasons 3 and 4, but I don't like his constant attitude towards mikey. I also don't like his Intuition.
Michelangelo; I like him, but I don't like how he messes up in certain episodes or doesn't take things seriously.

Really dig this finale but totally agree that it could've done without those last 30 seconds of "freakin' sweet, space adventures here we come!" The transition between season 2 and 3 was similar in tone and premise, so I'm not sure why they failed to nail the landing again here. Really looking forward to your reactions to the second half of S4 🙏
one thing that still confuses me about this part 2 episode is what ever happened to piegon pete and mondo gecko muck man after they had retreat with leo and them they had some how just disappeared till the earth was destroyed they should have been on 6:49 that scene and that one on 8:43 splinter and april to go get shredder and that one on 12:22 in the background with splinter and them and that one on 13:22 in the background trying to fight the triceratons or try to free slash and leather head rock well on 13:41 after april and casey jones had ran and one other thing that confuses me to is if muck man and mondo gecko are the new members on the mighty mutanimals team in this part 2 episode then where was they in part 1 shouldn't they be up in the turtles lair with leather head when he was sad about slash and rock well being hurt and piegon pete should have been up in the turtles lair to with leather head

It makes me wish that Tiger Claw came up with the turtles, April, and Casey to help save earth and realize that working with Shredder was a terrible choice

see this is exact reason why i said that they should have brought back metal head and mutagen man in one of those three episodes in season 3 before they started to do that the triceratons are coming to earth storyline and do an character development to the mutagen man character and have him a team either called the west coast mutanimals or it will be called the justice force from the 2003 ninja turtles show and especially brought back siri malachi because he's not dead or anything he is still around the city and he could have definitely could have been up in this episode helping leo and them and they should have had kirby to be able to turn into a mutant bat so he could have help them to and the punk frogs definitely should have shown up in the part 1 episode they could have been in the part 2 and they have the triceratons kill all the punk frogs except for napoleon and his brother renet definitely should have been up in this episode now thinking about it and that mutant chicken and ice cream kitty should have had an robotic suits or have that thing what ice cream kitty have in the ninja turtles legends just with laser guns and bombs missiles on both of there things bruh and karai shouldn't have left the city during this time so she could have help them and should professor honey cut should have shown up in part 1 with bishop and with an extra robot suit for bishop so that way he can help leo and them in this episode if they did all of this they wouldn't have to go to shredder and them for help and shredder wouldn't have kill splinter and doom the whole world on 14:03 and they wouldn't have done that space storyline
i like this episode and everything but my 2 small problem i have with this episode is that i wish that piegon pete and fish face had a scene trying to fight the triceratons because its not really far of how they had everybody that was there had a scene fighting a triceraton especially piegon pete because how did mondo gecko had a scene of trying to fight 2 triceratons even tho he can't really fight but not piegon pete tho bruh and I kinda wish that bebop and rock steady had team up with muck man and mondo gecko and fish face had team up and slash leather head rock well piegon pete had team up with tiger claw and rahzar and casey jones april had team up to fight some triceratons because in season 3 they all fought each other and I just want to see there reactions to have to work together but it was still a good episode they was so wrong for killing off splinter bruh
