You're a weapon bro.
Can you claim for your bike on the guys cars insurance?
+Nath Nath yeah pretty sure I can.
+On The Road Media thanks bro!
Can't believe I'm just seeing this now. So awesome! You're the man, Harley
This was extremely EPIC!!! AMAZING skills and motivation. I was dying laughing when the helicopter showed up haha
That was funny as fuck!
Same! Comedy... I really thought they were going to take him! Lol
💥💥💥
Mt baldy STARTS below the elevation of LT100 mtn bike race which hits 12,500 feet --- Oxygen decreases greatly above 9k feet.. Awesome footage you got! Definately a ride to remember! Best video you've made in my opinion ! loved it!
+Dean Johnson I agree
shit was giving me anxiety in my warm bed haha! can't imagine that decent, fuuuck.
+Dean Johnson bruh hhhhaaaaa the tallest peek of mount baldy goes up to 10,064 feet above sea level you must be stoned
Vincent Romero you must be stoned! I never said Mt. Baldy doesn't go to 10+k feet! Simply said it starts lower than Leadville which is 10k going to 12.5k..
+Dean Johnson This is his best ever, but I think it's one of the best I've ever seen on CZcams. Motivational times ten plus lulz. I loved the part where he walks up a gully and sees the road above. lol. Best vid on CZcams right now.
"THEY said it couldn't be done.... so I did it anyway"
EPIC RIDE Harley, this is your best adventure cycling ride! Much respect for always pushing yourself and encouraging others to do the same #CTFUportland
Awesome video Durianrider! I'm so inspired right now to get my road bike fixed and take it out somewhere hilly and go on holiday with it. Thanks DR
Great video!! So inspiring to get out there and tackle the climbs! Your vlogs are the best!!
Epic... really spectacular. Well done!
Did this yesterday! Best climb of my life. Good on you on biking there too! Tons of elevation on the way there too.
Awesome adventure watching the video. After you got to the ski lifts, I can’t believe you hiked up to the peak with bike. Congrats.
Thanks for the inspiration. The rocks on the road to Crystal Lake ripped up 2 tubular tires on the road bike. So planning to try the mountain bike.
Fucking epic! What would you do if you saw a bear tho, for real?
+High Carb Hannah Fuck bears, we need to see the American version of Ronnie Pickering!!!
+Karan Singh Hope he isn't armed up!!
+High Carb Hannah I couldnt BEAR to think about that!
+durianrider is your tcr ciclocross?
+High Carb Hannah When cycling into areas where there are bears, bear spray is always a good idea. Just like carrying a chain tool, you probably won't need it but its a life saver if you do.
Great feat, DR. Thanks for taking us on this epic scenic trip with you. Inspirational!
Awesome ride Harley,...way to set a goal and see it through. I've ridden to the ski lifts from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena...big props for taking it to the next level!
Doing epic shit, Harley! keep it up! I'm from LA and have never heard of anyone taking a road bike up to the summit of Baldy.
that was pretty cool, preettyy inspiring, I know many adventures lies before me and no excuses between The best ones that are yet to come!
Nice to see you out exploring mate!
Missing those epic riding vlogs harley !
Back in the day, we (PMBC) did Mt. Baldy annually as a KOM (on Mt. bikes)! The part that impresses me is your approach from Beverly!
The legend of the Durianrider, inspired me to push myself daily and change my habits completely. Much love and gratitude to you brother.
Took my 26" Univega up with 1.5" tires. The restaurant at Baldy Village is happy to top off water bottles. Got a rice bowl at the ski lodge, then dropped the tires to about 15psi and rode up the dirt road to the very top of the ski runs, that road was really steep and loose. On the way down I used the mini pump to air back up at the paved road. That is an awesome playground!
Props!!! That's awesome! Congratulations!!! If there's a will there's a way. I've ran up Mt. Baldy in a running race in September; I did not think that riding a bike would be feasible, but you did it, amazing.
I have to say man, that is an epic achievement to have done in one day via cycle from S.M. !! You have incredible stamina mate! Funny how you went straight up under the lifts not knowing that the gravel track was right there! I went up Baldy on three different routes with my Dad in the sixties. IT is a trek that must be taken seriously as you found out on the Devils backbone. Many have died on Baldy ill prepared for what it frequently dished out. Many Aussies in LA including two daughters of my own. Lived in Queensland 15 years. Hey from Oregon! Cheers!
I saw this ride come up on Strava. I was hoping you had done a video on it. Awesome!
This is a beautiful and well made video. Thank you for your hard work.
YOU ROCK!!!!! I really love your videos Durianrider!! You keep it real and your not selling anything which rocks!!!! I can't believe you didn't get a flat tire on those gravel trails!!
My my, AA+ for Aussie Awesome. Durian, I'm 73, vegetarian since '74, yogi, lifetime athlete, swim, ski and mostly road riding since '84. IF you are careful, no reason you can't carry superb fitness well into your 50s/60s. I did and know others. And . . . At a point of years and miles down the road handling the effects of wear and tear on the body becomes a challenge best dealt with humbly and fortitude. The body simply takes longer to heal, longer to recover. And with indomitable soul force and spirit problems can be overcome, and radiant health with relative fitness enables one to ride for life. Rock on!!
Epic ride. Have you considered taking the train (Hollywood to Long Beach) and then taking the ferry over to Catalina Island to ride the ridge on the island. They have lovely camp sites too. I think you would need to start off at Two Harbors on Catalina. The ferry departs out of San Pedro, but there may be connecting trails from Avalon too.
I love this vlog! I would totally go for it if I had mountains like these near me. Will do it for sure! Stay awesome Harley!
Beautiful. Thanks for taking us.
You can take your bike on the train from Hollywood to the foothills near Mt. Baldy if you want to save time and just focus on going up the mountain. Also, you are near Lytle Creek Campground.
Holy cow!! I don't have the words to express how amazing this is! Wow... Lol beyond impressed, you are seriously awesome. I've never been to Mt Baldy and I'm from CA, much less riding a bike from SM to the peak of that mountain...unreal! And you of course would be the indicated person to make that trek! Soo awesome!
Not only a road bike, you've clipped on the aero bars! Best video ever DR! Last year the missus and I cycled from Manali to Leh in northern India 5600m max elevation on the last climb we were sleeping some nights at 5000m... Had me some crazy dreams.
WHAT!!! You were in my city! I wish I was around to at least waved hi for the help and love you and freelee jave provided to the world!
I cruze up & down Virgil near where you started out on my single gear fixie, hope your enjoying Cali, the traffic sucks, but they're putting in more bicycle lanes every day.
Awesome Video. You are a bloody legend Durian Rider. So inspiring.
He's one of those guys, I always remark on....cause he's epic! Like I drive to my races, but one rider I knew rode to the race. Durianrider RIDES to the ride. Then climbs to the summit. But for a guy who's not impressed by my, glad he likes our So Cal mountains.
Fuck the cigarettes fuck the booze get on your bike and let's cruise
Dude, your a beast! Congrats on the awesome ride/hike!
Props to you for an incredible ride! Great job. That's one ride for the books.
best vlog ever made dude!! such an inspiration!!!
Really awesome video mate!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great ride thanks for sharing.
Hiked up there many times... not all the way to the top though. Too many people don't come back. Hope to see you tomorrow.
I'm really enjoying these cycling vlogs while you're in the neighborhood.
Awesome man ... 7 degrees in the UK is T-shirt weather man ... its called Summer over here. Great journey and keep doing this kind of thing ... it's very motivating!!
Awesome video Harley! Keep em coming!
Wow how awesome I live in la and have never been up there gotta take a spin there thanks for sharing!
Nice ride. Please share more content like this!
Eh Harley... great video, would definitely do more of this stuff.
I know you've been on the tubes for a while but this content is what actually inspires me.
Brilliant looked nice up there up in the clouds
I think adventure vlogs like this are my favorite.
Epic ride mate. Best video you've made I think. Love seeing your genuine enjoyment on the bike. Very inspiring. You crack me up man. The heli thought they were coming in for a rescue haha
Wow! That was an amazing ride! Great job!!Might see you at Veg Fest tomorrow!
Looking at the the red line on the map put things in perspective. I didn't know you were that strong. That's really amazing! Also, I've never seen anyone hike a dangerous hill like that ....with a bike!!!! Still, the visuals were awesome!!!
Why does it help to not stop when climbing? I push as much as I can but sometimes I'll literally fall off my bike if I don't stop. Epic ride by the way. Really inspiring. Been in LA all 17 years of my life and haven't seen or done the shit you have being here two weeks! Sad actually but you inspired me to ride more and explore. Thanks Harley! Nice seeing you at Vegfest today by the way
Happy your smashing the high mountains brahh!!! at 3000m the air pressure reduce is noticeable :) Reminds me the devils back at Sylarna in northern Sweden! Just do it ;)
Should've been there at the ATOC ride last year. It was snowing at the top stupid cold. Awesome ride though
Arcadia is awesome. Peacocks roam around the residential area, you should revisit if you get the chance. Arcadia high school hosts an elite track meet for grade school students, have kids there running 4:10 1600m and sub 9 minute 3200m's there.
Hi Harley! Can you do a ride with the drone? Now that would be epic up there in the mountains. Wonder if the drone operates at those elevations! Nice ride! Hope your resting up today for another epic adventure in CA soon!
I do similar adventures like you did in the vid on my own as well and always think how awesome it would be to have a mate I could do stuff like that with. But in the end I always end up doing stuff like that on my own.
Great video...!!! What a fricken jaunt....My hat is off to you sir... I hiked 10 hours to Mt. Baldy from Lytle Creek and spent the night up there...almost 40 years ago....You are an animal to tour bike there from Santa Monica and back...what a beast...
I really enjoy this video...I love what you say about Lance Armstrong and the hot sauce...Lance is still a champ....Thank you...
Epic! You should check out biking through Glacier National Park in Montana, it would be so beautiful. Keep it carbed!
Do the 'Triple Bypass' in Colorado in July. Three 10,000+ over a weekend. Yeah, it's supported, but might see some PR's.
You are the guy man ! Always bringing some inspiration ! Keep it up Harley
Respect! That's one hell of a hike let alone on a road bike!
Eh mate you're not the first, I unicycled up Mt Baldy last Sunday. Hell of a ride. Thinking of doing Everest next.
Great adventure ride, Harley!
Good Effort mate, I hiked twenty miles at Yosemite yesterday... Epic af. You guys should spend a day there before you leave, if at all possible! Keep up the PMA. 👊🏼
That was so dangerous. You are lucky to make it back. Try the Azusa mountains. They have bike roads and they are part of the tour of california.
Ok, this is the most epic ride I have seen. You have reached new levels durianrider, awesome ride bro.
Passing through hometown Arcadia!!!
Epic vlog Harley, good stuff my man.
Well done not quitting. One to remember.
you went right through monrovia! literally down my street! what a small world
Amazing! That has to be a first. I climbed MT. Whitney 17 years ago. Way to go Harley.
Next you should do Mount San Gorgonio. It is a bit higher. But I think you can only hike up that one. Never heard of anyone biking up it. You probably can do it, though.
pretty inspirational stuff shows what can be done if you are willing to get off the couch.
Great job, great vid. hope to see you tomorrow!
best footage ever!! you have huge balls durianrider
Epic Harley, some great views. What was it like descending on all that loose stuff on a road bike?
I love your vlog man. Keep it up.
You should ride up to Big Bear, it's a nice area around the lake and good riding. It would be a big day from where you're staying though.
Amazing that you are essentially all alone on Mt. Baldy and are only 45 miles from LA with way too many people. This is what I love about California. You can get away if you really want to get away and have some epic rides.
Much respect! Great video!
Awesome ride man. Thought I was crazy for doing the munros in Scotland. Take an xc bike next time though hahah
Absolutely crazy! Love the statement at the top of Mt. Baldy "You dont need stimulants, just do things others say that you cant".
Amazing stuff Brah! It's this plus the bike tip and the dietary health info that keeps the People coming back! All positivity! 💪🇬🇧
Damn man, you're awesome. I was just at that lift area back in February. The top was closed though.
WTG man... crazy going through all that traffic to get to Baldy, walking to the top and then riding back??? Kudos. Did San Jose to LAX once non stop and understand the insanity of all the traffic. That was great. Go to Mammoth next time for the highest PAVED road in Ca Mosquito Flats.
About 550 Km ... in 19 hours back in "the day"!
These are my favourite videos
These are the best ones!
@Durianrider while you are in Malaysia and Thailand please do some epic adventure ride vids like this!
Amazing !!! Take the drone with you next time !!! 😊😊
Epic video mate. Loved it. More adventuring and crazy shit please. You're a legend.
This is a cool experimental category. Usually its a bike, swim, run. Un thus case its a bike hike, walk category. This course has sections that are just not rideable but thats thr cool part.
Now this is the type of videos I dig from DR :)
You really missed a gorgeous bit of ass-kicking climbing (for me, anyway) and mad switchbacks on Glendora Mountain Road. Chapeau for making it all the way to the summit, though! I was well-past DEAD by the time I got to the ski-lift parking lot.
so cool to see you somewhere so close to me!
That's Awesome Harley. Good for you. Very inspiring.
I enjoyed this footage you shot a lot. It is way way better that any google street views. Amazing and thanks mate!
that was sooo cool ! You are my hero . now I know why you have that huge sprocket in the back . Your poor expensive road bike hahaha ,you are not afraid of ruining those expansive weals on the gravel? or did you change those out for that trip? Man that was awesome!
What a ride. Wow. Great high alpine shots. Much more relaxing than the mclaren showroom
