They made opt in pvp the ocean. That's golden though. Increases trade route value, offers an encouraging area to reduce people from being crazy on the resource lovers. Wonder how many metropolises across servers will now be in the op ocean spot(whatever node that may be)
I love this change , not only cz pvp but cz of the adreniline when ur in the open ocean , some ppl will wanna fight some wont , u will see another ship on the horizon and u dont know is it friendly ? Is it an asshole ? Omfg i cant w8 for ashes :)

While the water does make up the majority of the map, the map is still huge. Which means a lot of places with which to launch a boat from that I'm sure even giant zerg pirate guilds aren't going to be incentivized to patrol. Their best bet will be to flood the center of the map and try to intercept the shortest routes of intercontinental voyages.

i think 10 is pretty good for a build but you should have access to at least 50 skills/spells so you can change builds to create a lot more diversity and interest. This keeps it fun to play your single character. I always find it extremely annoying to start a whole new character to see other skills/animations.

what they need to do, is make all the most valuable in game stuff be tied into the "open world" areas. Kinda like in Eve online. Null sec is where the valuable resources are.

For open world pvp u need a karma system like in l2 ,(corruption in this case) to minimise mindless ganking and something to fight over like high end resources. Open ocean being a free for all is a great idea too, no one can hear you scream in the vast ocean ^^. It also HAS to be sub. PvP players(ones i know and myself) hate pay to win shit. I/We hate shops that sell power, but we are happy to pay sub or even 2 depending if alts are needed. Guilds also need to be a massive part of it for territory control. shit has to be open world(fuck the instance fights) that included world bosses. Only pvp game on the market now is Mo2, but it is just not finished. Net code is bad, nothing to fight over, guild/territory is not implements and the devs just BS too much, so people just dont belive in them anymore.
Well, they don't last YET since nobody has made one with the kind of world us PvX players have been hoping for. Looks like you need to go hop back in line and wait for the next one.

I loved the karma system on lineage 2, its basically almost the same, just changed to fit ashes of creation game mechanics
The Corruption System does come into play when you die, but not for the attacks.

Not true at all. Oceans originally had the same rules as land. They announced the change when they updated the world map a couple months ago

I'm pretty sure the active skills will be like 15-20, but you'll have around 35-40 for your entire class.
