- Traveling is often a thrilling and enriching experience, allowing us to explore new cultures, taste exotic foods, and create lasting memories. However, there are times when our trust is tested, and we almost fall victim to scams. Such was the case when I recently visited the beautiful city of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
During my trip, I had the pleasure of strolling through the vibrant streets of Baku and stumbled upon the Fountain Square, a bustling hub of activity in the heart of the city. As I was admiring the impressive architecture and taking in the lively atmosphere, I couldn't help but notice the tantalizing aroma of delicious food wafting through the air.
Eager to satisfy my hunger, I decided to sample some local cuisine at one of the many food stalls lining the square. As I indulged in traditional Azerbaijani dishes, I was blown away by the explosion of flavours and the exquisite blend of spices. From savoury kebabs to fluffy, freshly baked bread, each bite was a delight for the senses.
However, amidst the excitement of discovering new culinary delights, I also encountered a less pleasant experience. While exploring the city, I was approached by a friendly local tour guide and he offered me a deal I could not decline from the company offering their services for free as I was Vlogging. As I engaged in conversation with the representative, I couldn't shake off the feeling that something wasn't quite right. I discovered that the goal was to lure me to the office where the Boss tried to offer me a tour with a huge price tag, and not free. unsuspecting tourists.
Thankfully, I managed to avoid falling victim to their scheme, but it served as a sobering reminder to always be cautious and vigilant when traveling in unfamiliar territories.
Despite the near mishap, my visit to Baku was truly unforgettable. The city's rich history, breath-taking architecture, and mouth-watering cuisine left a lasting impression on me. It was a reminder that while travel may come with its challenges, the rewards of experiencing new cultures and cuisines are well worth the journey.

The scams seem to be everywhere these days. Even some on our waterfront when the cruise ships enter port. A sad state of affairs for our little city of Halifax. Best just to tour and arrange one's own itinerary.
My next vlog will be about the tour I booked and was fabulous
What has been your favourite video so far?
@@CelticMickWalks I really have to say that my all-time favs so far have been your entire adventure in Nepal! It is just one of those places in the world that I have always found very intriguing and hope to one day get to myself.
@@wendingourway thanks for your comment, I really enjoyed Nepal as well, looking forward to seeing Pakistan now
Azerbaijani here.I couldn't quite get how he tried to scam you.He just told you a ridiculous amount or something for nothing?
He told me that because I was vlogging the tour his boss said it was free, then took me to the office. I didn't want a tour as I already had one booked. But went to the office, some people might feel pressured and buy it anyway.
@@CelticMickWalks yeah, I can see.Sorry for that.
