I made my first resin casting to test how ot works and how the colours looks like. I left it in the pressure pot for 17 hours. Now I will leave it for a week to cure.
+Mark Dolan its polyester resin and on the youtube people said that this resin can be hardening from 4 to 12 hours depending on temperature. I made it afternoon and left it overnight just to be sure. On the bottle it says that it will be curing for 48 hours to 7 days in 20 Celsius. It is colder here. It is my first try so we will see how long it takes. It is 30 hours now and still soft. I got polyurethane resin too, like Alumilite, it cures fully within an hour. Thanks for watching and commenting, I'm glad you like the colours.
KK, yeah 20 Celsius is a little cool. I just poured some PR this morning and am already to sand it now 7 hours later and it's 70* F here. Adding dye can add to the cure time some but it shouldn't be too much. Please don't take this as a troll, just trying to help.
+Mark Dolan I'm always open for suggestions and advice, especially from someone who has more experience. Maybe my measuring was of and I have not enough hardener. It's all experimenting for now. Thanks again
Looking good Karol, 👍 cheers Harry
+Harry’s Woodcraft Thank you Harry, I want to start making my own pen blanks. Keep on making
Awesome!
+Make It Soph thanks
Looks good. What do plan on doing with it?
+Your trash my treasure Thanks, mostly penblanks from resin, and resin and wood and other stuff.
Depending on the resin you use, it should need no longer than an hour in the pot and 24 hours to cure. #JustSayin. Nice color combo.
