    This video was big time helpful! I watched a lot of videos trying to figure out how to upgrade my 2002 Tundra to led headlights and yours was the only one that solved the mystery on how to incorporate the dust cover by showing how the collar comes off the led bulb. I still had to modify the dust covers some to allow the bulbs to fit right and yet, now the leds work great and still have the protection of the OEM dust cover. Thanks a lot! 👍

    Nice informative video.
    Personally would have liked to see some beam pattern comparisons of the different H4 bulbs as I can't find any of your bulb shootouts that feature H4 bulbs and I'm thinking of getting the new GTR Lighting bulbs.
    I'd like to point out that when I installed LED H4 Bulbs in the past, I found out that the alignment isn't supposed to be perfectly straight 12 o'clock when I referred to the stock halogen which was slightly off by about a notch and this gave me the best beam pattern. This may be vehicle specific but still something to look out for.
    Keep up the good work guys.

    • @brat_paq
      @brat_paq Před rokem +1

      I just learned from this video that the shield is facing up I thought that should be easy, just point it at 12 o clock. Now I read your comment and it's not exactly 12 o clock. Now I think I should focus the original halogen on a wall and trace the pattern on the wall. Then put the led bulb and make sure the pattern are the same as the original halogen.

    I've got a 1986 Winnebago motorhome with sealed beam headlights. I purchased new 4x6 Halogen lenses only. I can now fit led bulbs into the lamps, but the sealed beams have a 2 blade and a 3 blade socket. Is there an accessory pigtail available on the aftermarket to complete the connection so I can have led lights? Can i get a led pigtail from a dealer trim off the old bladed sockets and rewire to complete connection?

    Perfect video!
    so informative and to the point!
    one question, H4 (7,11 etc) are those numbers different sizes? (like do h4's have a shorter LED base? in a way that the LED would be in the same sweet spot to be focused by the housing just like the original Halogen light? )
    or are these numbers for a different power/higher level/quality etc.?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 2 lety +2

      These are different, the base of the bulb, the plug, the LED placement, etc, will all be different based on the size of the bulb.
      With the stock halogen bulbs, this number could mean a difference in power as well though. For instance, 9006/9012 are the same minus the top tab on the bulb being a little wider and the 9012 generally uses 10-15w more power. It is common for people to trim the larger tab on the 9012 bulb to fit into a 9006 housing since the 9012 is brighter.

    However, I would like to know a bit more about the differences between them. Specifically, ones that have fans and those that don't; are the fans going to accumulate dust and break? Will the entire LED bulb then overheat and simply stope working?
    And conversely, are the fanless designs better in this respect or worse on account of poor head dissipation?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 4 lety +5

      The fan based bulbs typically are brighter because they can be run harder. We used to see more fan failures when LED bulbs first came out a few years ago, The new ones work a lot better and it’s almost entirely a non issue. I’d personally only run a fan based bulb now for maximum brightness. -Chris W

    You mentioned a shield, how about if my new led buld doesn't have it? Should i just place it facing horizontal?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 3 lety +1

      You should still place that so that the LEDs are facing left and right! It is very rare that there is a housing that needs them aligned in a different position!

    My 2011 Kia Soul doe not have a dust cover, but an overall cap that goes over the light mounting. What options do I have to fix this? Do I put the cover on again? Or leave it open? I didn't see anything in your video about this.

    I have a 2006 sentra and bought a Beamtech LEDs H13, when I installed the bulbs and was turning them to the right I was expecting some sort of a snap or a tension of some sort. Nothing, so I just left it like that, and ofcourse when I drove to work, after 25 miles the bulb came out of its housing and just dangled there. Anything I can do to fix this ? Thanks.

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 4 lety +1

      It sounds like that may be an issue with the bulb itself. I'd reach out to who you purchased them from, and see if you can get a replacement.

    Do you have to modify the dust cover to go over the Morimoto on a 2000 Toyota 4Runner? It doesn't seem to fit over the fan?

      You may have to modify that dust cover, and some vehicles just do not work with those LED bulbs. If you are having trouble with that, just shoot us an email and we will be happy to help! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com

    Great video! Still, I simply don't get it, why is it so many people and reviews indicate light bulbs to be h4/9003? I mean from what I understand they are different, like h4 cannot replace 9003 or viceversa, am I wrong?

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 7 měsíci

      In the LED world, they can! The connectors are the same, but the bases would be slightly different. With LEDs, you just get a universal base for both applications.

    Which led is the bright and low on the H4 9003 LED Bulb?

  • @tthoy7338
    @tthoy7338 Před 3 lety

    Is it absolutely necessary to re-install the OEM rubber boot over the H4 LED because if I do the rubber boot will cover over the cooling fins. The instructions do not say to re-install the OEM rubber boot. Do I really need the rubber boot at all? It will certainly run much cooler without the rubber boot

    • @HeadlightRevolution
      @HeadlightRevolution  Před 3 lety

      You will definitely want to use that OEM Dust cover, that will keep the majority of the dust and debris out of the housing, and will allow for your headlights to last longer! Let us know if you have any other questions, we are here to help!
