@@UNCtarheels71 what actually happens is they cant see but maybe 10 feet in front of them and the brakes dont work due to the slick roads its not that they didnt try to avoid it it was literally unavoidable yes driving slower might have prevented the initial crash that caused the pile up but after that first one its unavoidable for all of the drivers who havent gotten with in the 10 feet of view distance of the incident
@@GrayGray72Gamez If all they can see is but maybe 10 feet in front of them, then they, *by definition were too fast for the conditions!* If you are driving fast enough so that you cannot see a certain *time* in front of you, you have to slow down to a point where you can. In other words if you can't see to the point where you will be in 2-3 seconds (probably more in this case), then you are going too fast!
@@russlawrencerjbrk the people sitting still can't see but ten feet you dingus, people were trying to get home before it got worse (which it did by a lot) and that is a downgrade slope so people braking just kept picking up speed.

If you are referring to 2:05 This was in kansas on i-70. I barely avoided that accident cus it happened like 5 minutes after i got off the highway. Not alot, but a couple people would honk at me for going too slow, but most everyone was going the same pace. Snow and ice everywhere and like the guy above said it was a legit blizzard, you cannot see very far. It was brutal. And unfortunately someone did pass away from the accident

Ramuis166 Americans??? I’ve been to Thailand, Iraq, Afghanistan and Dominican Republic and they by farrrr have worse drivers. Mostly because those countries have had do not have proper infrastructure i.e. bad roads, lack of clearly marked lanes, lack of traffic lights, lack of set rules and lack of driver training/education.. I don’t even think they have formal licenses in some of those places.🙈🤷🏽♀️

So many people lack good coverage they probably be having trouble getting to work while I am in a rental for 30 days and then new vehicle as soon as insurance cashes me out. Wife got hit, Progressive settle up within a week and it was fair.

@@jimgarrity2414 I don't think the camera being there or not is of significance in deciding whether you would wreck your car or not. In fact he put himself at risk of being exposed by his own footage if this was taken to court, therefore there was some risk involved for him. It's incredibly obvious that the other driver was jumping the queue and they would've crashed into him even if he had just kept his line and speed. He actually and rightfully claimed his position by closing the gap. He could've just let them in but he was not going to accept such an absolutely disgusting move without resistance. That driver would do stuff like that all over the place if he wasn't put in his place. I understand that the camera driver was so frustrated that his own car was unimportant.
Maybe the other driver was an insurance scammer. Regardless of motive, traffic code puts him at the ass end of that court process.
@@jfour2zero exactly the guy in the white car could have easily turned at the wrong street or would have been holding up the turning lane in causing traffic. just thinking the truck driver would be a decent human being who understands the zipper method or that there are no designated spots, queues, kings of the roads. this could have all been avoided by this truck pausing for 2 seconds.

In the first video the pick up truck could've easily waited for the semi to clear the intersection, even if it meant running a red light. There is no way that semi could've stopped in time.

ALL of the drivers at 2:04 were coming down that street far too quickly. When the camera pans right... all I see is more than enough STRAIGHT road for people to be able to see the danger ahead with enough time to at least slow down some. Yet, all of them came in at about 30 mph.
2:35 the dude is right. In that situation, it's best to stay in your vehicle because the moment you get out, you might find yourself creamed between two or more vehicles. Those people are going WAY too fast for those conditions. If you can't stop in the distance that you can see, you're going too damn fast.

I had a clean accident, it was just two cars and the other party accepted fault.... but i could not or would not want to make that call on that accident and which insurance company is about to faint.
For those curious it happened in Abbotsford Vancouver. Upwards of 5 vehicles, apparently no serious accidents.

@PoisonedRose the last car ran a red light. The traffic light facing the dash cam had already turned green in plenty time for that car to have stopped.
When you see a car coming towards you you go faster to move out the way not slam on the brakes to stay in the way
I second this by my own experience...
I was turning left from the highway onto a side road. To do so I had to cut through the opposite Lane and their turn lane. The opposite Lane was full of traffic but a couple cars parted to let me turn. As soon as I got half way through the opening, another car was barreling down the turn lane. I floored my accelerator and he missed my bumper by a few centimeters. He didn't slow down either. Remember, brakes are there to help YOU avoid hitting someone. The accelerator helps you get out of the way. 😋

3:34 whoever was driving that car, their mistake (other than driving a bit too fast) is they hit the brakes at the worst time upsetting the balance of the car and making them lose control. Sometimes you have to roll with the bumps in order to not roll because of the bumps.

White pickup would be at fault for failure to yield. 18-wheelers can't stop on a dime and he when the light turned yellow there wasn't enough time to stop so he had no choice but to keep going. A loaded 18-wheeler takes about 1/4 mile on a level road to Stop....the white pickup clearly didn't give a Fuck and refused to yield

That was crazy indeed. The cammer is so lucky since the way the trailer tipped over the bed of it slide into his vehicle in between two of the heavy loads, otherwise one of the loads might have come crashing didn't come crashing through the windshield when it tipped over or worse- crash down on top of his car potentially causing serious injuries. Absolutely terrifying to watch!

@@monkeybolo4231 It isn't, you're not required to yield your lane to mergers and in fact they're required to yield your lane to you and merge only when it's safe to do so. Furthermore, the white car literally blew threw a light in a turn only lane expecting to merge on the other side, this is black and white the white cars fault. The cammer had no reason to suspect that the white car would continue through the light and could make a strong case for not having even noticed them brute forcing their way into his lane.
@@ALmaN11223344 Watch the clip again. At 7:20 the camera car turns right and essentially does a pit maneuver on the car trying to cut him off. That's the only thing the insurance companies are going to see when they blame him for the accident. Despite the white car being a total asshole, it didn't cause the accident. The black car swerved into the back of it.

@@HybridPhoenix08 The white car cut over and that much is obvious, the cam does not show the situation to the left of the cammer immediately so defending his position in the lane is perfectly rational to avoid being shoved into another lane and potentially rear ended. Legally the white car is 100% wrong for executing an unsafe lane change based on a number of factors and the cops absolutely have a decent stake in determining fault as well. Regardless of how you feel about the maneuver there is one person infringing on right of way in this clip and even if you'd like to claim the cammer could've stopped not everyones reaction time is the same so he'd get partial fault at best.
