    Would Ethinylestradiol work the same way, if my physician is only willing to prescribe oral contraceptives, because I'm still only in early perimenopause with regular periods, but with some menopausal symptoms?

    Your channel is very interesting. I am 64 and my last period was when I was 50. I eat an extreme low carb diet and am also experience post menopausal symptoms including painful sex. What exactly is the corelation to heart disease and estrodial. My most recent bone density showed no bone thinning. I am very frustrated to think that I can’t have estrogen

    Thank you again for bringing these educational videos to us. Your knowledge and ability to make what has been a complex, under researched area much easier to understand is greatly appreciated.
    Still looking for a "Horome Optimizing" doctor/provider BUT your videos and information continues to bring hope as I search.

    Are there ANY negative side-effects to taking HRT? Or BHRT? Risks to liver and/or kidneys, neurological side-effects?

    • @SimpleHormones
      @SimpleHormones  Před 7 měsíci +1

      @Blueskies7775 Good question. There ARE side effects from HRT or BHRT. But they’re almost always mild and very manageable.
      There’s no risk of liver, kidney, or neurological side effects. I’ve never read of any.
      Estradiol can cause water weight gain, bloating, headaches. Estradiol’s most bothersome side effects are usually breast tenderness and vaginal spotting or bleeding.
      Progesterone causes drowsiness, which is a part of its ability to dramatically improve sleep. It also affects the GI tract, leading to bloating, constipation, and reflux.
      Most women find these side effects to be a nuisance rather than a deal breaker. Most side effects will go away in a few weeks.

    • @cindylutz7442
      @cindylutz7442 Před 7 měsíci

      I pretty much started bleeding every day, finally told doctor about it after 6 months. I'd stopped my HRT at this point. Breasts also very tender and lumpy. Moods awful, hated my husband again. I didn't find these effects a mere nuisance. That noted, I now have very, very advanced osteoporosis (at age 62, only discovered after back pain had become chronic,) so...maybe it would have been less of a nuisance had I known this would/could happen?

    • @eviltwinnancy4561
      @eviltwinnancy4561 Před 7 měsíci +4

      @@cindylutz7442 Why didn't your doctor try a higher progesterone to stop bleeding? Maybe it would have been beneficial to try different types of estrogen and delivery methods. It takes a lot of trial and error to feel good again.

    • @radvibes
      @radvibes Před 5 měsíci +1

      It can't touch your kidneys unless you're doing oral HRT. That's a good reason to stick with creams or injections.

      Exactly and my cream comes from a compound pharmacy my doctor prescribes after looking at blood work for what hormones are needed every 3 months ..insurance does not pay this medication..pays doctor and blood work but not the medicine so insurance wants you to die earlier…this helps you live longer and better

      If that were true, doctors would be pushing HRT, not withholding it from women. It's crazy that I have to go to a naturopath to get it and even then they all want to under dose.
