  • @firejaw6459
    @firejaw6459 Před 10 měsíci

    Awesome video! Subbed, and running to buy your brush packs now! You showcased some tools here that I didn’t even know Procreate could do.
    One question: How do you create an outline around the pool of blood at about the 12:55 mark? I think you may have done the same with the blood and drool on the monster kids in the last panel. I slowed the video down frame by frame, but I couldn’t quite catch what it was you were adjusting to do that.

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  Před 10 měsíci

      Hey, thank you! If you get the comic toolkit make sure to also check out my full in-depth tutorial on how to use it: czcams.com/video/kMhz0Uhbeok/video.htmlsi=R3iE_JUR4SBoTEF-
      About the outline around the blood pool, it’s done using the same technique that I use in this tutorial for the white borders of the stickers, around the minute 1:53: czcams.com/video/W2-ZE1PjCes/video.htmlsi=pfHJHMZCmGBJuWjf
      I only used this technique for the blood pool, the blood and drooling in the last panel is all drawn manually.
      I hope this helps!

      It is just the standard American comic-book margins for bleed and safety areas when printing. You can find those measurements easily online. I just drew them once and have the document saved in the Files app to use it whenever I need it

      For this case I just eyeballed it. But you can find free templates online with the standard measurements and margins of American comic-books, like for example this one: blambot.com/products/comic-book-lettering-templates

    amazing is so beautifully done and the art is so good, I am so excited to start my journey as an amateur artist (and comic maker) with procreate, i have one question thou, which ipad did you use and how many layers it took you? (dont have to answer if you dont want to) am just curious of the amount of layer you use and how well your ipad handle to make that whole piece!

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  Před rokem

      Thanks! I used an M1 iPad Pro 2021 12.9 inches with 256 of storage. For this comic page I worked on a 6.8 by 10.4 inches canvas at 600 dpi. Procreate allowed me to work with a maximum of 36 layers at this huge size, but my final file only has 23 layers used, and notice that aside from the art, each text for each balloon counts as a layer. My way of working is to draw and paint on different layers that I end up merging as I go, so this also helps with the layers economy.

    • @Theoneandonlycrittur
      @Theoneandonlycrittur Před 18 dny

      So you’re using the custom canvas feature to create comic book margins. Have used procreate for sometime, and still scratching g the surface on the many uses with the app. I see you created a margin, black, red. Sorry if this question is a no brainer. I’ve been wi going it, but not a good Idea , especially when you’re putting in hours of illustrating. Any suggestions would be helpful.
      Amazing video of your process!

  • @CaptainCreate
    @CaptainCreate Před rokem

    @ittamanero - In this video @4:50 , how are you getting those blue dots to manipulate the lines (like vectors)? Also, @8:20 you get newspaper and brick textures from somewhere - what pack are those in? I've bought almost all of your sets and didn't see one called graphic novel (which showed in your screen recording). I'm working on a graphic novel now and would love to get those items! Thanks!

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  Před rokem

      Hi! If you hold the Apple Pencil after making a line, shape or curve, Procreate will give you the option to edit it (a button pops up in the top center of the interface). After you commit you can no longer edit it, so have that in mind.
      The newspaper is not a texture, I’m just using the selection tool and drawing lines manually. That Graphic Novel set is not an actual set of mine that I have for sale, I just compiled miscellaneous brushes over the years (way before I was selling brushes), some from other people, and some custom brushes. While the bricks brush is mine, I’ve never put it in any of my sets. I could include some brick patterns in a future update to my Stippling + Patterns brush set.

      By the way there is no 2019 iPad Pro model, there was 2018 and then 2020. Even if your model is the 2018 one (3rd gen), according to that chart, you should be able to get 19 layers on a 16x16 inches canvas at 300 DPI. On a 6,875 by 10,438 you should get even more…
