It’s actually a bit of a good thing that Slowpoke is so slow. Considering how reliant it is on Amnesia, the fact that it almost never gets critical hits means that the Special boosts won’t be ignored.

pokemon challenge: Gen 1 - only Krabby with no hm slaves - Krabby can learn all needed hms - Think of this kinda like a 1 pokedex challenge.
I’d like to see this one too.
I didn't know krabby could learn all the needed hm's. I knew he could learn surf and cut but I didn't think he could learn strength. This would be a very interesting challenge and I wonder what MDB will use as in his last moveslot. Although not having fly can probably make this a pain when travelling between citys especially post lt surge.
That would also be kind of a death sentence. Too many HM moves are just not that good

@@loganmacneill8874 Cut has low power and isn't a 100 accuracy move. Every generation it's in, it's a liability more than anything tbh, and Krabby wouldn't even benefit from STAB
I would love to see you do a run where you can only use the move "Assist". It would lead to some creative movesets, as even what moves are on your HM pokemon would have to be brought into consideration.
Oh, that's cool! You can catch any Pokemon, but you can ONLY use the one Like on with assist! I LOVE that challenge idea!!!

7:30 Just a note, for some reason, in the orginal RBY, the thunder badge gives increased defense, not speed. It changed in FR/LG, so it was probably an oversight.

These are always good - no matter how hard the challenge is. Don't feel like you don't deserve an easier challenge once in a while :)

Just wanted to say that I ❤ your videos. I look forward to every Saturday when MDB posts a new Pokemon challenge. I never considered doing one until I watched your Wobbafett video. Then, I beat Pokemon Emerald with a single Sirskit named "BREAD". I got the idea for the name from "Mah Dry Bread", and Sirskits Sun Dex entry. Anyway, keep up the amazing work, your doing a fantastic job.
Dry Bread you should do a Spheal only run in Emerald or Platinum! Its terrible stats and typing would make for an easy early game but a hard mid and late game!

And because of that, he doesn’t SAY he can use held items because they don’t exist, but his rule card shows he can 🤣😂
I love it; it gave me something else to comment about for the CZcams algorithm. You know, I never really used to comment on videos until Mah-Dry-Bread’s fossil gag.

I actually like seeing a challenge where you don’t struggle too much. It was nice to see you just stream roll an entire game with a single Pokémon, kinda hilarious
it's quite notable that the few runs that had pokemon with access to boosting moves made things go a lot smoother than they did with other pokemon-like beedrill with swords dance and slowpoke here with amnesia, the stat stacking really makes a huge difference

This should be interesting. It gets the best boosting move in gen 1 aka amnesia and has a decent move pool overall. It has some really weird stat distributions (it’s physical stats are greater than its special stats). It’s one of the slowest Pokemon in the series. So basically this challenge will mainly involve having to tank a hit before hitting back.
As for possible challenges:
Fire Red using only normal moves
Emerald using only magcargo
MasterOf Chaos 72 that is cool 😎
Badge boost glitch shall come handy

Yeah amnesia sucks so hard. Amnesia, Thunder Wave, Psychic and Surf. TW might be bad in a challenge but I think he can learn Thunderbolt. Either way, Slowpoke is overpowered in Gen I.
Leonardo da Vinci I don’t think it can learn thunderbolt, but forgot about t wave! Also meant early moves 😁
@@MajorLeeGaming Early moves might make it a drag, but once you get to Water Gun your only weakness is your speed.
Edit: Water Gun is acquired right as you enter Mt. Moon, too.

That was surprisingly easy! I loved it!
Use one the two most hated pokemon: Either beat Pokemon HeartGold with one Dunsparce or beat Pokemon Black with one Audino
He generally avoids Gen 5 challenges because the way the experience system in that game works makes them way more time consuming than they should be.
Since when was Dunsparse hated? All I've ever heard is people saying they like it and wish it got an evolution.
I did a HG run with a dunsparce called King because I fucking love dunsparce. He dominated as well
