Trying something different with this video. Let me know what you think!
In my experience there aren’t many mechanics that are particularly neat and dedicated like you. You’re working as though that car belongs to you
Keep up the great job
Don't ever change your ways of working.
I'd trust you with my cars!
And he will gladly charge you for it lol
Bon Ton isn’t that how it works?
@@bonton9441 Rightfully so. The value in this job is the skilled technician. Quality labor has its price and should be valued.
I’m a tech as well and watching your videos is satisfying and it makes me improve the quality of my work. Keep it up bro.
@@Infinite8338 honda techs r butcher
If i knew every dealer tech was like you i'd gladly bring my car in! Keep up the excellent work bud!
I love these videos and I wish that you were my Porsche Mechanic- you truly care; it means a lot as my car means a lot to me
Anthony M. DiJulio thanks for watching
No way in the world would porsche take so much care and clean a car as this guy in the video, he is meticulous 👍
I love the attention to detail and the fact a torque wrench is used on plugs as it should
Been a tech for 23 years. I own a 996 C4S. I have my dream car. Just wish i had the dream job working for Porsche as a tech.
I wish every porsche tech is tedious like you :P. Going in for a 40k mile service soon on my GTS
How much did it cost you?
@@herbertwaters1942 This job is around 2500 dollars, to much labour hours.
I don’t think you mean tedious....
I hope you don't get tired of hearing the same thing, because I see that many viewers say it, but I so appreciate your thoroughness and attention to detail. The owner of that Macan got top notch, professional service.
I would fall off my chair if a main dealer performed a service to this level of detail. What a watch. Loved it. 👌🏼
Amazing level of detail in your work. Learned more in that one video than I have learned watching dozens of other videos. I really appreciate that you put in the torque specs for the different service requirements. Great job.
I don’t own a Porsche, thanks to your advice btw. But hooked on these vlogs. The quality is so apparent. Very satisfying to watch the level of craftsmanship
Ok I'm intrigued, he adviced against owning a Porsche?
Watching a pro do it is always inspiring.
Excelent mechanic, extremely careful with the trim pieces and the way he cleans everything. I would stop doing this myself if I knew I’d get this kind of service
Just picked up my new (to me) Panamera from these guys last week.
Very professional dealer.
What an amazing piece of engineering a modern car is. Can’t even begin tp imagine how much development work goes into one
I appreciate the attention to detail in these service videos. Cleaning the engine bay after working is a nice touch. Honestly I would expect things like this at 150$ per hour but I'm guessing many dealerships just push for turn and burn service.
I-
Wow
I've never had better service than from Knauz Rover Lake Bluff but this is just absolutely insane..! Such a meticulous tech! Wish they were all like this.
MI6 thanks for watching
I am happy to know there are mechanics still left like you. I for one had to learn how to fix cars myself because of dishonest dealer mechanics. It is not the mechanics' fault but pressure from dealership management to turn a blind eye and let customers find the problems themselves.
With that i want to know how often do you see oil leak from the front front timing case and transfer case oil leak in the macans? Looking forward to hearing from you.thanks
We need more mechanics like you sir. Fine job!
I’m a Honda tech and it surprises me to see you guys lubricate all the hinges on every service, I’m going to start implementing that to every vehicle I service from now on!
Quality of your work is impressive.
I've worked as intern ship in centre porshe ,, never see some one treat car like you .. deserve employee of the month👏👏👏
This is amazing you get all this done at Porsche. Well done by the company and their standards and well done and great job on your part for actually performing these items. Im sure other techs would get all the lubricates and sprays and fluids and just store them in their box or cabinet and say they "performed the service"
The impeccable attention to detail demonstrated here is Just amazing!!!
Well done!!!
Great work ethic and tradesmanship... Bravo job, I hope your Service Mgr appreciates your dedication!
I just found your channel again after a few years. So satisfying to watch your attention to detail. Great stuff!!
Wow the tech does his job with such love. Makes me want to buy a Porsche.
.... Same as bmw... You always necessary become a technican..
Is detailing the engine bay a required step? Kudos to Porsche if so. If not, super Kudos to tech for going the extra mile!!!
Great video, really enjoyed watching all the care you took lubricating and cleaning up the entire vehicle. Getting ready to do spark plugs on my Macan S and found this very helpful.
Very impressive video! Am quite pleasantly surprised at how much cleaning and lubing you do in all the door seals, etc. Now I want to step up my game to match yours. Thanks for giving all the materials info and torque specs in the description! Coming from the VW world, it’s interesting to see that many of the parts look the same.
Truly inspiring to see someone really take pride in their work, especially as it involves somebody else's property.
I would trust you with my house keys when I went away on holiday 👍
Man I hope PCNA uses your videos to train all the techs!
I've been a Nissan tech for 9 years. About to start at Porsche next week. Your videos put me in the right mindset for the quality of work that will be expected. I'm stoked! Thanks for sharing
curious what quality of work was at Nissan carshop? ;) in my mindset all cars are equal, require the same meticulous approach.
@@MaisonAK that would be nice, but not reality. I'm master certified, I just won the "nissan award of excellence" for the third time which is given to the one person with the highest customer satisfaction/fewest come backs through the year, but we just don't go as far as this. It's more like correctly diagnose and fix the complaint as quickly and efficiency possible and get the owner back on the road asap. Porsche owners are a little bit different breed with different expectations
Immortal Pilot awesome man! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
Hey, can you put a list of your cleaning materials please. I love the results youre getting!!! Great video
Thanks for the video. I'm wanting to do these two fluid change services on my 2017 Macan S. It actually shows how unbelievably easy it is to do yourself. Now I'm even more confused as to why my Porsche dealer yesterday told me it will cost $1,600 for the 40,000 mile service. Oil change is about 20 minutes. PDK looks like a one hour job. All the lubricating with the spray can is easy too.
Good stuff as usual. Interesting to see how Porsches are put together and how they are serviced. Interesting stuff, keep the content coming.

Great video. Thank you for taking the time and creating videos like this. For those of us that are mechanically incline, we can do most of this in our garage with your video as a basic guideline. Besides the computer resets, the labor itself is doable and pretty much similar to other non Porsche cars and trucks. Thank you!!!
Vin Chhoun thanks for watching
Simply awesome job man! 👍👍👍
If only every tech cared like this man cared. The world would be a better place
Excellent video! I wish more techs are as detailed oriented as you. This way we can trust our dealerships a lot more. Every time I bring my car in, I get nervous not knowing what the tech is up to with my baby.
Problem is management at most shops don't want their techs going the extra mile and doing extra cleaning or other tasks that they can't charge for. They want it in and out as fast as possible.
This gentleman takes a lot of pride in his work a true professional
I'm impressed, excellent job.
Hey so is this expected as a Porsche “by the book” task. This is sooooo cool
Have a 4 year coming up with only 18k on the clock and this is a perfect popcorn moment for me
Thanks!!!! Love this
Only Porsche enthusiasts would enjoy watching a car being serviced, which is why I loved it.
Looks like the Porsche dealership where I purchased my Macan S. Your service is amazing!!!
watching this a year later after it has been uploaded.... i would LOVE for you to work on my macan. your attention to details is just amazing! i wish you were still able to post new videos.
Your attention to detail is outstanding! Keep up the excellent work!
amazing videos keep up the good work, it is so satisfying to watch someone do service the proper way, exactly to spec....amazing
Ravi Suri thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it.
Not many engineers / mechanics treat car like this and yet they charge a big premium (even dealers!).
It is nice to see how well you treat that car, it is like it's yours. I'd gladly take my car to you even if you are 100 miles one way :D
Very impressed with your attention to detail!!!
Incredible view of what happens in your shop. Your videos are super professional and really informative. Shopping around for a CPO Macan and terrified of this service and it’s cost. It seems like most models I find are sold at the ~36k or the ~75k mile mark, like owners are dumping them to avoid this service. That makes me feel like I’ll end up sinking a few grand into maintenance right after buying one of them. I understand the cost, but it still bums me out.
Great Video
Really enjoy watching you do meticulous work
Finally someone who knows the proper way to work on a car
I’ve watched this video like 5 times now. I love my 18 Macan S and this is my next due service.
This is why I also take my Porsche only to the dealer! You get all OEM parts! I hope my dealer techs are as thorough as you are! I 🇺🇲👍🇩🇪
Man, you're good. Your attention to detail is excellent. Keep up the good work.
his guy was fantastic I was trying to learn then I just sat back and enjoyed it I would ask for him everytime
Nice...you gave her some TLC! Great job!!
Excellent work. You do get what you pay for when you service your car at Porsche!
DukeJJZ- what are you smoking? No offense man but no one ever get what they pay for at a Porsche Dealer or any car dealer. Everything at Porsche is marked up 3 to 10 times higher simply because they figure if you got a Porsche then you don't mind being robbed blind. It's a rich persons car brand and they just expect you to pay more just because they assume you got money to spare. They take advantage of peoples ignorance. Seriously what do you get from paying $100 for a pair of $15 windshield wipers? Nothing. You just threw $85 in the trash. $1000 to replace a $30 coolant sensor. $3000 to change the brakes. I changed them myself for $300 two years ago. They're doing great. It's $300 cheaper to change your own oil. I purchased brake rotors from the same German supplier that Porsche use. It was $500 cheaper for the exact same rotors. I love Porsche. I own one myself but I'm not rich and you don't have to be rich. Just manage your money smartly and do your research. I love my Panamera Turbo but that don't mean I have to be foolish with my money which is a common misconception people have of Porsche owners. I purchased mine almost new for a 3rd of what a dealer would charge. Everyone knows to stay away from the dealer unless you have absolutely no choice.
@@hellbent7062 You are talking trash
Great video as always. Good details. The only thing that would make these vids even better is if you stated the torque specs for each bolt that you tighten with a torque wrench, and if you showed us the verious sprays and lubes you use in the videos. Keep them coming man.
Thank you. Torques and materials added in description 👍🏻
This is the proper way to perform a service, great job.
Nice work. I especially like how you clean everything. Your customers must be very pleased.
I only wish you posted more often! Keep up the great work.
I watched your video one time and now i can't stop watching , i don't have porshe and for me it's very complcated car but i like watching how to take care of those engines 😌😎👍👍👍
Great video. When are you doing anymore? Keep up the good work
Unfortunately, I believe he has left this Porsche dealership and that’s why there hasn’t been any new videos… real shame!
Great work! If I lived in Chicago there would only be one place I'd take my Porsche to. Shame of it is that most owners won't notice your attention to detail. Would love to see you do a similar video on a 991
Not a tech, no Porsche even. I have an Fpace but love the idea I can learn something about mine. Great vid!
I'd say this was about a four-capuccino service. Very well done.
That was pretty cool to watch, great videos!
Simply incredible. Thank you so much!
Vas Vas thanks for watching
This must have been at the end of the day/week... Or, a personal/friend's vehicle, especially because it's a "MAJOR" Service at only 14k miles!!!! .......Honestly, awesomely meticulous job!!
Your videotagraphy skills is just as good as your mechanical skills.
hmm super surprised about about the cleaning , mine is usually dirtier when i get back - well thats a 3K + service right there
ale3hs I’m sorry to hear that. I try to constantly improve my services and give the customer their moneys worth. Thanks for watching.
@@PorscheTech Would you mind sharing: What sprays are you using for cleaning the plastics, under hood, and the seals?
Really interesting video. Very impressed by your attention to detail & care. Would be delighted to have you service my cars. Keep up the excellent work.
Wow, recognized this as the dealer as the dealer got my 2017 from hope this is the norm for service
Yes, yes, yesss!
Excellent work!
You are very good with the camera as well as the work you do. I am still supprised Porsche let you do this. Porsche UK, the first thing they do is unplug your dash cam as they dont want you to see what cars are in the workshop !
The PDK fluid refill is supposed to be done while monitoring the trans temp. Depending on how much fluid falls back out of the fill hole between 30c-40c in temp is how you determine how much fluid come back in. 6L is def a LOT of oil for a change.
MechE184 18:18 is when I do this. This procedure was performed per the Porsche workshop manual. Thanks for watching.
Great attention to detail here. Nice work
Lots of work to do in major service
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I really enjoy these videos from this channel, I wished he informed us on costing though of the labour and parts as a total.
holy cow, he cleans the widnow too...
You get what you pay for! You deserve a raise!
impressive af
How much is this job though? Looked expensive.
Dude last year I did plugs and coils on my 2005 911 and bought everything for $300 from pelican parts bosch plugs and beru coils and did it my self and but called dealership just to see how much they charge and I was quoted for $1200.
Loved watching that !!
I echo what everybody else here is saying. Amazing. I just had my 4 year service done on my '16 at the dealership here in Boston. No way in hell did they do even half of what you just did. I should have shown them this clip. Ever consider moving to Boston? 😁. Keep up the great videos!
Mind sharing the cost and what dealer? I have a 17 S and starting to get ballparks would be helpful
Really, really amazing! This is the standard procedure (car care) for all the major maintenances? This a Porsche Dealer? Thanks al lot for job in this video!!!!!
Luiz Guilherme yes major services consist of a similar process across all models. I work at a Porsche dealership.
My god this guy treats the cars better than the owners do!
Audi Service departments across America, take notes.
This has to be for the video, this never happens. They dealers are making over $160 an hour and pay their guys 20-25 an hour. If they paid they techs correctly (40-50) this type of service would happen. But they don't and trust me, the techs don't do this.
@@anthonyaguilar9341 they ('dealerships) are a for profit business so unless you want no insurance, be responsible for insurance to cover vehicles damaged by techs pay for your own lifts , utilities and other software rolled about the manufacture that's not happening. I think Porsche service departments in general are better than Audi having owned both brands.
@@TheRebuilt1 Please educate yourself on what a Master mechanic is entitled to as far as labor rate. It is 1/3 of shop labor rate. Now I know that may never happen, but it's sad to see $20-30 an hour when they are getting $160+
anthony aguilar your missing the point on business operating costs and I’m well aware of what a MT deserves and should be compensated
@@TheRebuilt1 Trust me, I am not missing the point. I have worked at places that needed a mechanic so bad they would over pay them, but go to a well run shop. They just take advantage.
Wow , what a great Service.
Love this video. Thanks for making such a detailed video.
My major service is coming up. I have changed the wiper blades, pollen filter and engine air filter on my own.
I’m taking it to the dealer for
1) oil and filter change,
2) break fluid change,
3) rear disc brake pads and rotors,
4) PDK flush.
5) Valve cover gaskets replacement (it’s worn)
My original spark plugs are pretty good even at 85k, so I’ll ride them out for a bit more and change before hitting 100k. I know it’s a bit out, but honestly I feel we’re too obsessed with our spark plug changes every 40k. It depends.
very thorough job, but I did see a spec of dust that you missed lol I would love to have you work on my car!
Any chance you can post the cleaning/treatment products and lubricant you use?
That was great- thank you!
Love your meticulous nature on servicing the cars. Suggest someone like you in NJ area ?
Great video and amazing detailed work! But curious, does your dealership or Porsche recommend doing detailing work like you do? Or is it totally in the discretion of the technician?
