  • A whole bunch of artists decided to embark on the greatest star wars based collaboration ever!...aside from star wars itself of course...REGARDLESS!
By the “Power of the Force” a.k.a. social media & international mail they were able to combine their talents into what will be a miniature artscape to rival ILMs modelshop itself!...maybe lol

Please watch the Project opening video for more info that will be linked below and at the end of this video! ENJOY!...may the force be with you, always...

Oh lol, I do a lot of “pre planning” in my head so when I finally put my hands on material it goes fast

Wow, amazing shot of Carrie Fisher at 3:11. She was so young, but weren't we all? I was 14 when the original Star Wars came out. This is probably my favorite diorama I have seen bult and I have watched tons of them so far. I think because you explained it so well, and I feel like I could do it also. I know where to get plenty of cardboard and foam for free so I am definitely going to give this a try! Beautiful buildings!

Really useful, I'm gonna do 3.75 diorama but I planned on using Wood to make a big structure.

Hey man, is there a reason to not use water based grout? I'm trying to find acrylic resin grout at my local hardware and can't see any ready made grout that says acrylic resin.

Water based grout needs to be mixed with water and will warp the cardboard, but if you made your base pieces not using cardboard or a water soluble material it should be ok, but I would worry that not having long chain polymers holding together a thin layer of what is essentially concrete might allow it to crack off? You could be the test for the rest of us? Maybe get a small sampl?

@@OilersWorkshop thanks man. I'm trying a cheapo multi purpose filler spread across and stippled with a brush and then I'll do the scenic glue trick of isopropyl alcohol then diluted mod podge to harden it. I'll see how that goes. Also using very porous xps foam so gives somewhat of a texture already.
