BR484 will never replace the classyness of the older s-bahn trains. Love the traction sound. I cried from happiness when i heard their sounds echo-ing through whole berlin haubtbahnhof for the first time i visited berlin 11 years ago. I love it!

@@garfield850 Also gegen die S Bahn Berlin stinkt die S-Bahn Hamburg schon ordentlich ab, das Netz ist in Berlin halt einfach 1000x besser und das Umland ist auch viel besser erschlossen. Und mehr Charme versprüht die Berliner S-Bahn auch

Did you know there's a modernized 481 on the S Bahn right now? They modernized at least one or two of them for the upcoming 483 and 484 trains.

@@Dan-sq4xk The trains were put into the same livery the 483 and 484 are in. They also replaced the passenger door buttons with the modern ones seen on the new trains. Seats got a slight upgrade, and door open buttons for wheelchair users were also placed onto grab poles next to each door. These modernized 481 trains, however, still make that same acceleration and deceleration noise, and the doors are still air-operated. But their appearance was changed a lot.

It is kind of a mix. It serves the metropolitan area of Berlin, so lines go outside Berlin proper to the adjacent suburbs around Berlin. Within the city it, especially on stretches where several lines run and there is a train every 2 to 3 minutes, it functions like a metro. It is also fully integrated with the actual metro/subway (u-Bahn) and there are many stations where you can switch between the two systems. If Berliners have to go to a place that. Is served by both systems, they tend to pick the S-Bahn, since it is faster, due to fewer stops. For instance, from the Zoo station you could take the subway to get to Alexanderplatz, but it takes approximately 25 minutes. By S-Bahn it takes 13 minutes. There is actually a third system in place, called Regional Express, that can be even faster than the S-Bahn and that goes even farther outside the city.
If you are familiar with London transport, the S Bahn is like the Overground and Themselink combined.

No, in fact i'm pretty tall and i just film but while i dot hat i focus on my camera and on what i'm filming i just ignore the crowd without any shame, and if you do that, people look at you for a second but don't bother anymore after that and walk along.
You just need to care as less as they do about it.

Man, I watched both the U-Bahn and S-Bahn videos all the way through, and while I enjoyed them, not ONCE in either video did you visit the _one_ station where both these metro networks stop at opposite sides of the same platform.
...I will admit I am slightly disappointed xD

I know that station, Wuhletal, and i kinda wanted to seperate the U-Bahn and S-Bahn in two videos, i skipped that station on purpose because i had a huge list of stations where i wanted to film and not enough time.

Because it is a commuter train. It just functions like a Subway when it‘s in the City Centre
