This line cured my acne and oily skin. I’m 29 and I’ve been struggling with acne since 12 and nothing ever worked. I love this line because it’s affordable and is effective.
Did the reg blue scented one help or the one for extra dry skin with no fragrance?! I was stumped on which one to get!!
gels are better for oily skin and creams are better for dry skin, but keep in mind that everyone is different.
I have severe acne (had) but take expensive creams and pads to keep it at bay. I also literally have to use it to clean my face before the products or else I break out like mad. It can't be too drying since the cream and pads are such. Love the product.
Same!!
I love your content! You're so informative without making everything sound overly complecated. Thank you!
Someone else already commented this but please review CeraVe 🙂
The gel cream for "extra dry skin" is fragrance and dye free. I have oily skin, but use it and it works amazing without the scent!
I don’t think we have this in canada 😭
@@Jillydisco paiinnnn
@@Jillydisco the one for extra dry skin is available on Amazon Canada
Hi, does this have sticky feeling or like something sticks after you apply this product?
Hi Kenna, can u please review “the ordinary” specifically their more powerful/popular products such as the hyaluronic and lactic acid seriums, their glycolic acid, vitamin c, skin buffet and moisturiser. I hear a lot of mixed opinions on their products and some say it’s almost worth getting one or two of their products such as hyaluronic acid or skin buffet and then splurging on a drunk elephant vitamin c because of its stability over time. I’d not only be interested in your opinion but I actually hold it in very high regard due to your expertise and honesty. Thanks love from England! X
Hello! She already have a good video reviewing "the ordinary" heres the link--> czcams.com/video/AbyUlHo6Ov4/video.html Hope this helps :)
zuliilee thank you for linking it!! :)
zuliilee thanks for linking it! That’s super nice of u. I’m gonna watch it now xx
Rosie Darbyshire i agree!!
Catalina Cortés I checked out the video kindly linked above for the ordinary products but unfortunately she didn’t review the products I mentioned in my post so I guess the request still stands :) x
super grateful for this channel, even though i’m not an avid makeup user, it’s great to be able to have insight on what people are putting on their skin.
As an esthetician I appreciate this review so much! Not many people realize that ingredients are a HUGE part of taking care of your skin. So thank you for explaining the importance! 10/10
I actually used this line when I was younger and for some reason stopped but, I re discovered it recently and I’ve fallen back in love! Thank you for reviewing this I always appreciate your opinion!❤️❤️💛💛
They have another moisturizer that’s exactly the same it has the same packaging it just says for dry skin fragrance free except without the colour and perfume it’s the one I get because my skin is sensitive
Yes. I was like the one I have is white and doesnt smell.
I’ve used it too, and even though it says it’s for dry skin, worked perfectly fine for my oily combo face
EverythingEmma did not know this. Thanks!
Just saw this after commenting the same. After watching this I need to get the cleanser too.
Yes. It’s the white Gel-Cream! My normally very dry skin loves it, but I do need to apply a heavy moisturizer on top of it in my evening routine. My skin loves it!
They make a gel cream with no fragrance as well! I was pleasantly surprised when I was looking to repurchase the original. I didn’t have any issues using the fragrance but I have been trying to eliminate fragrance in my skincare.
Yes and I just saw CVS has an exact dupe. Like the ingredients are identical. The fragrance free CVS was $16.99.
I usually don’t mind a little bit of fragrance in skincare if it’s just a touch but the smell of this is horrible it smells like chemical washed linen, it’s not the right smell for skincare anyways it should be something gentle and soothing at least not detergent smelling. Ew :(
What's the one without fragrance called?
Natalia Fekete ʕ•́ᴥ•̀ʔっ it’s the same but it will say extra dry.
Love your tips!! Thanks for sharing your scientific knowledge to the beauty community 🥰💕
I'd love to see a review of Glossier's products, especially the milky jelly cleanser!
This was in my recommendations and saw that I already use these products. I'm glad it is approved because it makes my skin feel amazing.
will you do a run down on best skin care at the drugstore? I have high end favs but if I can find an affordable alternative that’d be better
Thank you for this practical and useful review! Exactly the content I am looking for!
Thank you for being so thorough and taking the time to do this review. I want to get my sister moisturizing products, and I have limited knowledge (1 class of intro to chemistry 😅) on beauty ingredients. I'm excited to subscribe!
I’d love a series on how to make some basic makeup at home! I tried a few recipes in the past but didn’t have much success and I quit. Also would love to see chatty GRWM, chill kind of videos :)
Another idea for a video is to review store brand vs name brand. Specifically CeraVe vs. Walmart's Equate. Equate seems to sells several dupes at a much lower cost and I would like to know if the name brand is worth the added cost.
I’ve just starting using Neutrogena products and I don’t mind them at all, and as for fragrant, I don’t mind that at all ... thank you Kenna, great review. 💕🎄🌺🎄💕
Thanks for the gel cream review! It’s what I use and I was wondering how good it was!
Hi there! Been using this for six months, and it’s been beneficial to my dry skin. I hope 🤞 this is a good review!
Kenna I started doing the massage with avocado oil you recommended and its MAGICAL! Thank you so much, I've been doing it for a month now and my skin feels much more moisturised and my nose is clearing up! You're an angel!
You have dry skin? Didn't your skin break out?
This is the best moisturizer for my dehydrated, sensitive skin!
Has anyone told you that you look like Shailene Woodley? Beautiful ❤️
Thank you for this, I was trying to place the familiarity in her face!
I've always thought that too!
Right!
I figured this comment would be everywhere! Hollywood missed out on signing them to act as twins 😋
She looks exactly like her!
Yay! I’ve been waiting for this! Now a review on CeraVe would be bomb. 🥰
Please test Cerave
Yes! The hydrating facial cleanser
Their spf skincare products have made my face red & broke me out but that’s because I am sensitive to non zinc oxide skincare products. Everything else is great for the price. I own the basic moisturizer that’s like $5 and it’s accepted by the national eczema foundation
Yes! Cerave was acquired by L'Oreal and they're now rolling out all of the new formulas and they are trashing my skin! (Along with a lot of other people's I've heard.) I'd love to hear you compare the new and old ingredient list and see if there's any wisdom you can share on the changes. I've been using them for years and I'm heartbroken I have to find something new and have no idea where to start.
@@beverlyf6603 Oh noes, I've been using their products for like 3-4 years. From the google search, it pulled up the Lotion PM being reformulated. I have a back up moisturizing cream I bought maybe a year ago. I wonder if it's reformulated or not... What CeraVe products did/do you use?
Beverly F oh wow! I didn’t know they got bought out. I might be having to switch to something else. 😿
I picked up the gel cream for extra-dry skin and it’s dye and fragrance free. Works great for me!
I'm nervous bc i use this line haha
Jessica Kent me too! I was like please don’t be crap!
Girl same. I use the city shield on my under eye and then the hydrating serum with my moisturizer and I hope she doesn’t diss on them😭
same here
This is my fav moisturizer... Please don't tell me it's trash lmao 🤞
Dude same...nervous
😂 I'm watching nervous too lol!
I literally clicked it saying the same thing and I normally never care 😂
I have been wanting to try it! Haha
It's my favorite too.
Thank you for reviewing this!
Oh man I hate when videos don't work out (corrupt files are annoy AF). Love this review! I saw this line today actually. Thanks for the video
Would you be able to review the brand “Vichy”? I want to know if it’s better then “ Elizabeth Arden” Anti aging products. Thanks 😊
Please do a video on eye creams, what to look for, good ingredients and suggested brands!
The extra dry skin gel cream is my life lmao. I’ve used that for years, still love it.
Thank you so much for this review, it was nice and informative!
Could you please comment on the comedogenicity of the gel cream? I've been tempted by it before but I'm terrified of it breaking me out 😣
Hi! Love the review. I’ve also tried the products in the line.. I’ve enjoyed them. But, I do agree, they can leave out the fragrances. Important to remember to put an occlusive over hyaluronic acid!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I needed this review sooo much
I love this line!! I use the gel cleanser then the serum/vitamin boost before I use the gel cream. I have dry skin and it helps keep it healthy! I don’t use the eye cream as I have the tatcha eye cream.
Thanks for the thorough review. I have been looking at this line but wasn’t sure what to pick up. I think I will give the gel Creme a go. I would love your thoughts on The Ordinary.
I love that stuff especially the hydroboost body gel cream sensitive skin. It's no die or perfume and I use it on my face too.
Can you please review Cerave?
Also, the extra dry hydroboost moisturizer does not contain fragrance or dye.
Please review the Burt’s Bees sensitive skincare line 🐝 It’s one of the best I’ve tried for sensitive skin from the drugstore.
Thanks Kenna. I use the Hydroboost gel cream for extra dry skin because it doesn’t contain fragrance or dyes. I’d like a review of the Hada Labo line of products.
What do you recommend for melias?? For years ive always had them no matter what products ive used.. Any tips?
Just found your channel and you have a new subbie!! So informative, thanks for sharing!
In your professional opinion, do any anti aging creams work? Would love a video on them!
Watch dr dray! She’s a dermatologist.
spf is the best anti aging cream!
EltaMD facial lotion with sunscreen in the AM and their night facial lotion at bedtime!
Saw biochemist and instantly subscribed
I have SUPER DRY and sensitive skin and have tried soo many moisturisers and the hydro boost gel cream is the only moisturiser that actually works with keeping my skin from drying out throughout the day. With makeup it’s AMAZING I love mixing it with my foundation
Thank you for this! Now CERAVE pleaseeeee!😍
I love the moisturizer. I got it because I was desperately trying to find a replacement for L'Oreal Hydra-Total 5 cream gel (which I adored, but unfortunately can't find it where I live anymore). I'm definitely going to try more products from this line.
I’d love to see a full drugstore skincare line. From makeup removal to cleansing and toning, serums, etc
I wish you reviewed the Sleeping Cream too. Also I would love you to review the Hada Labo Alin care line too. Especially their Eye & Mouth Cream
What do you think of the Vichy Mineral 89? It's a hyloranic acid gel. What is the best way to use it!? 💜
That gel cleanser has been my staple for a year now
I love this line of products!
I would love to see a video on just eye cream. What ingredients should we use or ingredients we should avoid? Your favorite or most effective eye cream at different price points.
Im totally agreed about the blue color !
I use the hydro boost like regular cleanser and the lotion cleanser, which I like better for some reason. : )
Love the whole line. I have the hydro boost gel cream (regular not extra dry skin), the hand cream (it’s pretty good but just like any other gel body cream I’ve tried), the hydro boost with the beads in it (not for me & wont be repurchasing), and the serum is good to. Hands down I love the serum so much and need more. The under eye cream is amazing and I have like 3 backup bottles. I really hope this stuff isn’t terrible for my skin. I’ll be 30 this year and I’ve been trying to take care of my skin for over 15 years now. Started when I was really young. I really enjoy your videos and your opinions. Thanks girl! Makes me so much more confident in using the cleanser. The gel cream I’ve actually switched to the PM cerave night cream? Idk how to spell but it still has the hyaluronic acid in it as well as other ceramids. It absorbs a little bit faster than this stuff for me. Sorry for the rant. Just wanted to share what I went thro with this line. It’s not a bad line actually lol *i hate that it has some fragrance* the lotion cleanser is a little bit more mild and doesn’t have such a scent.
Hi Kenna.....I have little white bumps under my eyes....could you recommend an eye cream that won’t make it worse please? 💕 xx
Hi, Kenna. Thank you for doing this, because I didn’t know anything about hyaluronic acid. My son likes Nivea Water Gel sunscreen, because of the lightness of this product. He orders it from Amazon and it’s only available from somewhere in Asia. Do you know if it’s safe?
Oh most people go for the fragrance free version of the moisturizer btw, i have sensitive oily skin and it’s my favorite!! you need to try the fragrance free version. It says it’s for dry skin but it’s very lightweight
The “extra dry” is for sensitive skin. If you’ve had a bad experience it was probably from the fragrant oils in the regular one.
Indigo Child thank you! I’ll try the extra dry one, I’m currently using the other one and every time I put it on I feel my skin on flames 😢
There is two moisturising creams in the range. The water-gel-cream which is the one that she actually showed which does contain dye and fragrance and the gel-cream which is dye and fragrance free! They are the exact same formula apart from those two components! I will not lie to you when I say that this product has genuinely changed my skin so majorly! I would 100% recommend this, and if the gel-cleanser was fragrance free I’d be sure to give that a look too!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE I TRUST TO DO THIS FOR YEARS
Hi Kenna! Can you do some reviews on baby products? Wipes, wash, lotions... I am a mom of three and while I try to buy organic or natural products for my girls it get expensive. I would like to hear your thoughts on the affordable one vs the organic more expensive ones. Thank you. Happy new year!
I love the hydro boost gel cleanser which I find great for my sensitive skin. However I reacted to the cream. Don't know why. My favourite Neutrogena product is the oil cleanser. Removes makeup easily and leaves my skin feeling great.
They make a gel cream without perfume or dye. Love this line. Is what I'm using regularly
I tried the gel and moisturizer from this line. I expected to have really moisturized skin because of the “hydro” branding. Didn’t do much for me especially the moisturizer :/ I feel like I can find something more moisturizing? Or maybe my skin is way to dry.
I also have very sensitive (albeit oily) skin and can tolerate most fragrances and loved the cream and serum. Imrecently purchased the Pond's Fruity Hydrafresh Gel and I find the texture similar to the Neutrogena cream but Im curious about the formula, is it any good from your perspective"?
I have got oily combo skin and I love the water gel cleanser. It has become one of my favourites.
I really appreciated this review. I just recently bought an exfoliating cleansing gel, this serum that you talked about and the gel cream. I have been putting on the serum then the gel cream after I wash my face. I am thinking that the serum is not necessary to do but I will continue all 3 and see how it works for me.
I like your pretty and fresh makeup look! Beautiful!
Good honest review , thanks alot really . Vid is so informative
Can you test out Derma-E? They sell it at Whole Foods.
I had only just recently started using the cream, but I haven’t been able to try out the cleanser yet. The cream, I like a lot cause it doesn’t feel like I’m applying a oily moisturizer.
Thank you for so much education on the ingredients behind skin products. It's much appreciated.
I use the gel day cream and it’s been amazing for me.
Hi Kenna! I would be so interested in what your opinions are about using Apple cider vinegar for skin, and how you should use it effectively. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it and I wanted to make an apple cider vinegar toner myself. :) thanks!
Thank you for mentioning that golden nug of info on HA and the inflammatory response it has the potential to cause. 💓🙏🏻 I’ve been using the hydro boost gel on and off because I think it is what is causing my skin to become overly plump or inflamed idk..therefore enlarging my pore appearance & I think it’s what gave my neck a weird dry patch. I did buy the fragrance free one. Idk..I use HA in the CeraVe lotion and that doesn’t seem to bother me. Anyways I know you said you are guessing they don’t use the below 50 formulation... but that lets me know this is still probably what’s causing problems for me. Still kinda stumped on the dry patch a hydro boost cream caused on my neck🤨 but I’ll probably be returning this product. Don’t think my skin is a fan. Thanks for validating the my suspicion. 😊
I didn't know they had a fragrance free one. I bought the gel that has the fragrance and it made my skin burn.
I also use and love the Neutrogena Body Gel. My skin feels like silk and I have very dry skin.
I’d like to hear what you have to say about the cerave night and day moisturisers with ceramides, hyaluronic acid and niacinamide. I believe the day comes in spf 30 & 50 varieties. I’m also interested to hear what you think of their intense healing ointment. Secondarily, I’m also really interested to hear what your opinions are on CosRX’s AHA and BHA chemical exfoliants (white head and black head)
the extra dry skin hydro boost doesn't have fragrance
David Fletcher there are two. One with and one without. The fragrance free one says so on the package. The original has fragrance. They’re identical packaging otherwise.
Or dye!
M A the fragrance free one does say it’s for extra dry skin one. I’ve used it for about 4 years.
@@michaelawestbrook1869 I got a lot of acne because of it
Where can you purchase that from? @David Fletcher
I'd love a review of FAB beauty (specifically the coconut line but whichever) . This was good to hear though, my skin didn't like the gel moisturizer, but I gave it to my mama.
Love your videos as always. Could you do a video on your opinion on Derma Rolling? Thanks!
Thank you for this review!
love your video !! can you please discuss acne scars and which products to use to remove or clear them?
joseph d Kenna is a biochemist not a skincare professional. The dark spots need to be treated with a concentrated stable vitamin c (dark jar cannot be exposed to light unless it’s encapsulated in absorbic acid) and stay away from hydroquinone it can’t be broken down by your body and the effects of high levels in the blood stream hasn’t been properly studied.
If you’re dealing with pock marks or ice pick scars or whatever you want to call them you’re going to have to go through a series of very strong professionally done chemical peels. There are no over the counter products that will treat scarring.
I am grateful that I do not have sensitive skin because I enjoy this line sooooo much. The gel cleanser is amazing. I use the moisturizer as well. I want to try the serum next. I am using a really great glycolic serum at the moment. The scent reminds me of laundry detergent. Perhaps a fabric softener sheet. Lol.
I agree, I don't care for the blue dye. Its natural color is acceptable to me. I stock up on these items when Ulta has a sale and I have a coupon.
Do you use a lip balm that you love?
When will your Altilis Beauty cleanser be back in stock???
Kenna please talk about Triethanolamine - whether it's a good or bad ingredient, in which products should it be used and in what concentration.
Thank you for this video it's funny that I ran into it the same night that I actually bought the little Neutrogena eye cream I liked it and I think I'll continue using it and thank you for your input I appreciate it you are very beautiful God bless you👍💞🤗
I use the hydro boost serum in combination with the water gel and water cream and it's lovely. It's working for my skin.
I personally don’t mind the sent in the gel it doesn’t bother my skin at all, but this line literally cleared my eczema up
i use the hydro boost gel cream for dry skin, it is fragrance free although i have oily skin, it still works well for me!! because it is light weight and non-comedigenic
The hydro boost gel cream does come in a fragrance free version. It’s says it is for extra dry skin but I don’t think it would create issues for most people.
could you do a review of the milk makeup skincare/primers? especially the new vegan milk moisturizer - it seems pretty good but would love to hear your opinion on the products! in another video, someone said it would trigger fungal acne, so maybe you could explain that :)
This video is awesome! I’ve been looking at some of these things to buy so this came out at the perfect time! I bought the moisturizer and love it.
Can you do a video about ALANI NU BALANCE capsules. I’ve been hearing some good and bad things and I’m interested in seeing your thoughts on the ingredients 🥰
You and your husband (I’m guessing) compliment each other very well:)
Could you please review the Aveno serums? I have found that it really helps my dry winter skin.
Thanks for this informational vid! I always wanted to try this line but now I'm not totally impressed! Can you review First Aid Beauty and Kiehls?
