Each character had 12 special
Moves you could switch at any time once they were unlocked in the old games. This seems it’s lacking depth at moment.
The E3 showing was all I needed to see. Day 1 purchase for me.

*cough* X-Men legends only had the 4 supers but what he means is there was small skill tree where you upgrade smaller abilities like wolverine's healing factor and how strong a character can lift something
I thought I was the only one who caught that lol but yeah I think he meant the passives. In XML/XML2 passives were SUPER HELPFUL. Rogues might, grappling, jeans telekinetic combat, wolverines sharpness/healing factor etc. Even MUA2 had these

Xmen legends 2 had multiple abilities. Legends 1 had only 4 active skills each.
I'll be getting a switch soon I think. This won't be the only game I'll play, but for some reason I'm the most excited for it. I don't think it will be revolutionary, I just really miss that Streets of rage style co-op brawler.
I feel like for a while there, big crossover licensed games were just on mobile. The older platforms become more about big budget cinematic stuff, but there was no room for something in between like there was a decade ago when the last one came out.
I just want something multiple people can hop into if they are around. The marvel licences is better than it ever has been in terms of appeal, almost everyone would know at least on character and be drawn to them, the game is simple enough to pick up and just have a fun time with friends. I'm also glad mutants are no longer being downplayed in games. Overall it just looks like some good old fashioned fun. And thats what I'm in the mood for.
This and smash bros fit that bill perfectly
The Switch has some great exclusives so if you’re looking for another great game to play after this one there’s a ton out now and releasing in the second half of this year!

They played only 3 1/2 hours put together and put a title like that on their preview😂
My favorite part is this game has characters like Miles Morales and Kamala Khan, characters who weren't around back when Marvel was heavy into making games, but now they are getting back into console gaming again, so seeing these new characters getting some love outside mobile titles is great to see, wish there was more.

Miles is awesome, but Kamala sucks imo. They seriously need to update her with better design instead of the generic lame looking design. Miles is probably the only "new" Marvel character that I'm invested into, the rest are really awful.
Rather not of had either, or Captain Marvel. Current marvel is in a dire state.

Love the Switch and this game is a perfect addition to the library for that console. Switch is the perfect platform for these easy jump in, jump out co-op style games.

Most of the characters are voiced by their cartoon voice actors which is great! I appreciate that consistency.

Yes! And the colored outlines if those bother you too. You can turn off alot of the HUD elements.

No hub areas and limited to no characer customization? I may need to lower my expectations for this game a bit. I doubt it will top the orignal Marvel Ultimate Alliance or either Xmen Legends games, but I'm still hoping it's better than Ultimate Alliance 2.

Back in my day there were more than 4 abilities for each character in an ultimate alliance game
There still are. During the Treehouse from E3 a Nintendo rep said that you will be able to switch out moves for others and he hinted at there at least being 6 per character, and that you can elementally charge your moves with ISO-8 so you can give Wolverine lightning claws or give Spider-man fire webs, for example.

If you wanna buy a switch for whatever game you migh wanna wait till August cuz new switch upgrade with 9 hours battery life is coming on August, compare to now about 5 hours battery life

I bought a switch for just this game, I would've most likely passed if I knew how much depth this game lacked. Pretty basic button masher and the replay value is lacking. Not sure the new characters and DLC will improve it that much. This game is a solid C

@@jacobradabaugh6241 that's not including the dragon quest hero drop in smash, Dragon Quest XI definitive edition, Daemon X Machina, That new Contra game, Pokemon Sword and shield, Banjo drop later this year in smash, the lingering of super mario maker 2, whatever they announce in the next direct and going into next year with animal crossing....yeah Nintendo is doing too much and that is a good thing.

@@Vraptor1 okay here's a few examples... weapons breaking: Why are weapons breaking so easily in a game that came out in 2017? It's old and outdated.
The stamina system sucks and really holds you back as a player. I know you can upgrade it but what's the point of even having it there in the first place? Especially when Link can't even climb up to places you need to get to in the beginning, because he runs out of it

It’s wierd because I have wanted another one of these games for so damn long but I gotta say now that it’s here I’m not too hyped for it. I hate that it’s a switch only exclusive and overall I think some of the gameplay I’ve seen looks great but some of it seems not so great. I think I’ll wait for reviews

If I didn't have a Switch, I'd have bought a Switch Lite for this but I think it takes one more game to buy a standard, overpriced, $300 console. Luckily those games exist too like BotW, Smash, Odyssey and then some, so problem solved!
I have been interested in a switch since BotW and Mario Kart 8, but now that we have Mua3 Mario Maker 2 and smash ultimate, I am definitely buying one (not interested in the lite version though, prefer to play on a tv).

Well the switch lite was announced and it's only 200 USD. Make ask for it for Christmas, do good on some tests and show them for motivation

They have good knowledge of the previous games. And actually have good criticisms, unlike gamexplain

Yes - the F4 are DLC, but they still made it.
The X-men that you can play as are Wolverine, Storm, Psylocke, Nightcrawler, Deadpool & Magneto. And down the line I’m sure we’re getting Cyclops, Colossus, & probably Beast.
There are some playable X-Men are in the base game. But we'll be getting a few more in a DLC pack.
And the Fantastic 4 will also be released in a DLC pack.
Don't forget the Marvel Knights
They better include Moon Knight and The Sentry.
Moon Knight is DLC, pretty much confirmed him with the Marvel Knights DLC

Definitely looks more rooted/ inspired by the comics but you can see a but of mcu inspiration too
I really don't get that vibe. They're making Stark and the Guardians more like the MCU versions and Ms. Marvel and Elsa Bloodstone are the only 2 characters in it who aren't in the MCU

What if a similar type of game was made, but it used Disney characters and used the Disney World parks as levels? The Magic Kingdom would work at the very least in terms of levels. Main Street could be the main hub area, each "land" could be a sort secondary hub that you have to accomplish some goals in before you can access the actual levels which are the rides which have been turned into explorable levels by some kind of magic. You get to play as the main set of characters at the very least: Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie, and Daisy. Other possible characters that are part of the main cast could be Pete (although he could be a villain), Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Pluto, Scrooge McDuck, Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow, Clara Cluck, and they could expand it to other Disney characters outside of the Mickey Mouse universe like Beast, Aladdin, Peter Pan, Jack Sparrow, Jack Skellington, or others. They could even bring in Pixar, Marvel, LucasFilms, Fox, or Muppets characters. They are also the owners of the Kingdom Hearts and could bring some of the original characters from those games in. Cinderella's Castle would be the last level where someone like Maleficent has taken over and that's what has caused everything to change in the park(s).
*(sigh)* This used to be a Multi-platform game, though. At least with PS4's Spider-Man game it was a completely new game unrelated to previous Spider-Man games.

The real question is, will I be forced to play as Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel, the various "spider men and women" and other crap "Heroes" they recently honked out with little effort? The past 10 years haven't been kind to the comics division, and if you don't like the movies or find the infinity stones/Thantos to be boring as hell what is there for you? I would rather have X men legends 3.

But well it has Octopath, Xenoblade and games like Astral Chain coming so it's worth it
