The clash is really over a security deposit statute that says that IF the tenant leaves a forwarding address with the landlord, the landlord only has X days to send them a notice of assessment of damages to the property. If they don't do that, then they can't deduct those from the deposit and they can't claim those damages in court. The judge remembers hearing the tenants say at a prior hearing that they gave the landlord their address, which was apparently not contested at the time. Now the lawyer is trying to file an amended complaint for damages and is apparently wanting to claim the right to do so after the time limit to mail a notice to the tenant by saying that they never left their address. But, the lawyer failed to allege in the amended complaint that either the tenants failed to leave a forwarding address or they did and the landlord mailed them a notice of an assessment for the damages within the time frame specified by the security deposit act.
Off topic but i would love to see Judge Simpson's shirt under his robe. Also, i would love to have a man in my life like Judge Simpson.. he'd probably tell my whole family off, lol.
Two thoughts: 1) He made a Dumb Kid mistake, because he's just 21. But he handled the whole situation well. I'm sure he's bright enough to learn from this. 2) Why is there always at least one person in a Zoom meeting who looks like they're peeking over the rim of a well? Cindi, adjust your camera. Can't you see yourself? Or you could at least say, "Kilroy was here." Sheesh.
Now THESE are my most FAVORITE kind of things and ways I love to witness seeing. I really like Judge Simpson and Grandpa lawyer has him all riled up, ( which I hve never saw him this way before ) , and I LOVE it and cnt wait to c the outcome of.
When the judge starts rubbing his face and forehead things are about to get complicated. When he does start trying to put things back together he has to think on the fly and it comes out in chunks. When the judge gets into his analyzing mode it is not easy to follow and put it all together. Judge should have taken the recess to write down what he was going to say so it comes out smoother.

If you watched Judge Judy you already know this, but it's nice to see someone explain it for all of us, to educate people on this subject.
Cracks me up when Simpson starts throwing paper into the air. It takes a lot to get him to that point.
Right!?! He’s had some pretty insane landlord tenant cases.
I guess this is what happens when the Monopoly guy tries to pull a fast one in court.
that's dr wiley
That shady landlord lawyer looks like Albert Einstein. Am I the only one who thinks that?
Seriously, guys, I'm the ONLY one!?
yes, even without the mustache 😊
Yes, you are. Einstein had a full head of hair, I think, or just had the 'cap' or 'crown' missing. He never lost any in the front.
This is a good one. We have seen Judge Simpson get 😤but not to the point of throwing paper 📝
Thank you 🙃
Im so glad i found a page with more videos of this judge!!
i like to see the out come of this
That was complicated, but he did sort it out, and, clearly!

Grandpa Joe's legal career doesn't seem to be going well.
He must’ve got into the Fizzy Lifting Drinks.
@@AJAXKID123 YOU GET NOTHING
He should’ve had an epiphany and turned to his client to say, “you’re a crook!”
I could watch this judge all day long. He gets right to the point. The idiot lawyer is not going to win this one 😂😂😂😂😂

Sheesh.
That's a lot of work for a security deposit. Will be interesting to see how it works out.
Oh how I love Judge Simpson. Do not play games with him. 🏆💗
Judge Simpson is the best.

Very good thank you
So nice of you
I think Grandpa Lawyer, Esq might need to retire. I'm amazed at the amount of incompetent lawyers that present in court in front of Judge Simpson.
Captian Kangaroo for the prosecution
nice court outfit, honey
I thought the same. I mean, wear what you want but this just looks odd to me...

“Ammend” should be “amend” “listen close“ should be “listen closely“ otherwise, good video.
