  • We did the Pictish Trail from www.bikepacking.com. We did it on a tandem so sometimes we came off the route to make up a bit of ground as the off road sections take longer on a tandem. We stuck to it for the big sections of off road, but if the route dipped off road for a short section just to take in a bit of singletrack we would just stick to the road.
We did it on our Landescape tandem, fully loaded.
If we came off the Pictish Trail route we made our way following a Sustrans route which was also spectacular.
Some businesses that I would like to give a shoutout to include.
The Windhaven Camping, B&B and Cafe - They also rescue seal pups under the charity - Caithness Seal Rehab and rescue. It would really help them out if you could make a donation.

The Glenesk Folk Museum - An independent museum that is showing the history and what life was like in the Glen. Again these are completely independent and any help you can provide would be amazing. Their hospitality and advice was very welcome after going over Fungle Road with the tandem.

The Lunan Bay Campsite and Cafe. Again really friendly people and the campsite was lovely. Right next to the really peaceful bay.

    ‪@lunanbayfarm4972‬
‪@PathLessPedaledTV‬ for the partypace patches that adorn our framepacks.
‪@BIKEPACKINGcom‬ Hew and Annie from topofest and a girl outside for the route.
www.bicycles-by-design.co.uk/ for the Landescape frame that I built up. We are going to contact you to get a @co-motioncycles7269 tandem frame that I can put a ‪@rohloffrabe‬ gear hub on it to make it near indestructible. As going forward all our tours together will be on a tandem.

Loved watching this. Did most of the Tiso Overland 500 last year, and a, planning to do this with a mate this May. “The Lecht” is something else, and am personally looking forward to getting out on The Fungal Road! Cheers!

Loving the w3w cards with the scenic locations and drone shots. Glorious.

Thank you for the video ,I'd be very interested to know more about the bag you use on your Jones bar ,I've tried a few different set ups . You also influenced me into getting a bike with a Rohloff ,My first was a Thorn Nomad great bike but a bit heavy for me when it comes to lifting over gates , I now have an Olsen Lamb with a pinion & so far I can't fault it , especially that it's 8lbs lighter than the Thorn .

An enticing vid! I've done three extended multi-continental tours (all on my Rohloff) so now looking to explore my home kingdom, presently piecing together a route, so thinking to make this the southward part from north Scotland.

Which month of the year were you riding? I had train tickets booked to do this ride back in early May, but a root canal issue forced me to cancel. The route is top of my list but need the weather and don't need the midge!

Love the routes, and the ethos, but just a little effort to learn how to pronounce some of these place names would show a bit of respect to the area.
