"GARBAGE DAY!!! HAhahahaha!" I can't get enough of that. Eric Freeman's acting was obviously goat cheese, but this dude was so over the top that he could have easily gained talent in the right director's hands. Sadly, he chose not to continue his career because he was getting so much flak over this particular role. Too bad the internet wasn't there to help him at the time.
Good points. He deserved nothing but praise & success after this amazing performance graced the silver screen. Seriously, he's so much fun, so entertaining & funny, that even back then in the 80s, before the internet, a cult following should have still developed for his performance in this unique B movie. I guess he was destined to be just the JD Salinger of bad movie actors but I hope he'll come out of retirement soon! Garbage Day!
My guess is that the "Eyebrow Acting" comes from a theater background. I started in community theater when I was very young, and they encourage you to emphasize your facial expressions to make it easier for the audience to interpret what you're doing. I haven't been in a play in 4 years, and I still flop my eyebrows around all over the place when I talk, just like this guy.
I kind of understand the lady saying thank you and walking away, I mean if you see someone run over someone like that and they take note of you, you don't yell that might cause them to attack. You do what she did, make them think they did you a favor and walk away and once out of sight you run like hell and call the cops.
I remember when it came out and the uproar, people were picketing the movie theaters and some of them actually pulled the movie. Being a 9 year old horror addict and the child of a mother who was very liberal about what I watched, we took a road trip to south NJ to the only theater to see it. LOL It was awesome.
At 10:00 i was thinking "i want to see that again but i'll wait a couple of seconds and maybe it'll play again" Holy crap, it actually happened, mind blown.
Apparently the actor for "Silent Night Deadly Night 2", Eric Freeman, the director couldn't find him when they wanted him for making the commentary for the DVD of this movie. Other than a few T.V. Show spots, and showing up to a showing of this movie one time in 2013, no one could find him.
Holy shit I have seen that Garbage Day! clip a million times but never knew what it was from. I didn't think the rest of the movie could be any more ridiculous than that clip, looks like I was wrong.
As someone who’s been in a mental hospital before for depression, I guarantee that they don’t let us use lighters. We weren’t even allowed to use kids scissors without constant supervision.
I remember the writing implements given to us when I was in a psych ward (suicide attempt). Wobbly little pens so you couldn't stab yourself with them, anything with anything firmness was too dangerous lol
Right. I used to work in a psych hospital. We had to light cigarettes for the patients. One of us would stay outside with them while they smoked unless they had earned enough trust points (I think we called them some specific term) to smoke alone.
I wish Eric Freeman would come out of hiding one day. He just vanished into thin air, and nobody can find him. There's a lot of speculation and hearsay about where he is, but nothing concrete.
This movie is actually pretty great. You can tell they wanted to really write the characters well but didn't have the budget to do what they wanted. The cast worked hard to enthrall the audience. I love Eric Freeman most of all! He's was really not a bad actor. He has so much potential. I love his eyebrow acting most of all. He played a convincing psychopath in such a lovable way. I want to meet him one day.
Ha, Garbage Day guy is now officially on my list of legends. Alongside Nicolas Cage, Tommy Wiseau and General Shepard from Starship Troopers 2. Keep the awesome reviews coming Mark, gotta keep finding them hidden gems.
Don Q. Also was the first major western piece of literature that introduced "sidekick- main hero duo" and many other things, apart from being exceptional critique on class and elitism, knighthood and chivalry.
I love any kid of slasher flicks before I seen them because I was 2 in that year. If I did seen the commercial, I wouldn't seen Santa by that flick. However, my bro brought that flick on Blu-Ray and it's frightfully scary even bloody. It's a perfect Christmas movie if it's that VIOLENT. LOL! Great vid, man.
Eric Freeman's eyes are very oddly spaced. It give him a very fun face to look at when he's psyching out. he actually crosses them when he's strangling his girlfriend.
The grandpa was played by Will Hare. Will Hare also played Otis Peabody, the character in 'Back to the Future' whose barn Marty crashed into when he first travelled back in time.
Sr. Margaret is the only nun who was doing her job and if there was any justice, Mother Superior would've been excommunicated and Sr. Margaret put in charge. But nooo...
He doesn't do a terrible job being Santa. The whole thing is the moms are impressed that he's able to get the kids calmed down then we see he's doing it by threatening them.
awesome film! i wish i lived in that toy shop. they have star wars originals, original batman, and muppets! and the ending is great! now i'm going to watch the sequel.
The eyebrow body language is real, when i was youg in my father's hometown was a granny who talked and her eyebrows danced along... my sister could impersonate her and show how her eyebrows moved, I didn't do it I was too respectful.
So is..."Oh Mother Superior, I have a present for you!" and the Shining nod with the ax is also great, "Oh there you are!!!" and let's not forget...."Booooooooooooooooooooooo"
Fun fact: Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 was originally going to be the definition of greedy. It was initially supposed to be nothing but a re-edit of the first movie disguised as a sequel. However director Lee Harry (who was also the editor) actually had the common sense to say "um yeah this is a terrible idea; maybe we SHOULDN'T do this". He demanded they make an actually new movie, but the budget they were given wouldn't let them do it. Which is why the final product is half new footage, half recycled first movie footage.

LOL! I immediately paused the video and went looking for a comment with the phrase, "garbage day" in it. Well, that didn't take long. Hahaha!
"Internet". "help".
Yeah, he might have made a good decision to curtail his acting career.
That should have been the title of the movie.

Emma Watson used to be terrible for flapping her brows for emphasis in the first two Harry Potter films. Very DRAH- MAH SCHOOL

Shaq is the best eyebrow actor lol
Hey, Roger Moore was eyebrow acting way back in the 60s!
lol, im pretty sure it comes from Oscar the Crouch
You can tell the actor was having so much fun.
Eric Freeman is a damn LEGEND. He's right up there with that Wishmaster Guy! I never get tired of watching this guy

Didn't Broderick play Sarah Conner in that one?
