  • Filtration is the process of removing suspended particles from beer. It is defined as the separation of solids from liquids by passage trough a filter. The driving force for filtration is the pressure difference across the filter. The aims of filtration are to remove almost all microorganisms and organic debris (suspended proteins, etc.), and to clarify and stabilize the beer (no visible changes should occur during time -- no colloidal or microbiological hazes).

Was the beer previously carbonated? How do you displace the beer? (pump or C02). what is the size (micron) of the filter you use?
