i dont care what ANYONE says i would never throw away my laces they hold the memory of when i got these babies when they were new im glad i have the old laces thanks for the cleaning tips tho :)
Please, just throw them in the washing machine. They'll smell better. The laces get clean. If you have suede of leather ones, clean the soles with baby wipes or just a soapy cloth
All I do is clean them with a wipe (to get dirt off of them) lol it takes me like 1 min to do it. I don't care for making them 'slick' or look brand new. I just want to wear them with something that looks nice lol I don't care for laces either XD Like wipe and wear
You asked for comments, I'd say next time only do one shoe, then put an old and a new next to each other to see the difference. It's hard to see much difference because of the shadows.
Wash them in the bathtub with cold water (as you would jeans) & woolite 'dark.' Then set them in the backyard to air dry. Use a toothbrush or some other kind of brush with tight bristles and Simple Green for cleaning the soles and tip of the shoe.
@SwagKillsEveryone obviously you don't use it on the fabric. you use it on the rubber, the dirt that comes off is amazing. if you get it on the fabric just dab (don't rub) a bit of water on it and it will dry off and go away.
You know what? I just put them into the washing machine and there you go..brand new no brushing no scrubbing no nothing;p You just wait until theyre dried :)
Lol, in every tutorial people are cleaning their 'dirty' Converse shoes, which still look ... pretty white to me and mine are like ... All yellowish, really dirty with like black sweeps on it and someone wrote with a pen on my tip --"
Okay 1. You don't clean your converse. You just don't. It's basically a crime. 2. Your converse are not 'slick' or clean or anything, they look the same as before. They honestly look like my white converse that have never been washed and I've had them for a year or two and when you skate and go mudding in them, they get really dirty. & 3. I'm just gonna be blunt here.. Those laces look horrible! I'm sorry but really.. They are horrible and I would be embarrassed to wear my laces that way in public.. Just my opinion.
I think your talking about them looking too "brand new" Yeah, you gotta break em in. But there's a point where they look dirtied to the point where it looks really old and tacky. Obviously after a time of wearing there's no such thing as pearly white, just not dirt covered.
@STFUCHASE i play basketball, a big fan of fall of troy (which is much less ear-friendly than conventional metallica metal), and i love my chucks. go figure.
You don't clean your Chuck Taylor. EVER! Because every single point of dirt is a history to remember! The Chuck Taylor is our faceless HERO!
Clear, simple, and useful, though the poor lighting makes it difficult to see any change in the shoes.
To the people who are saying "don't clean chucks", that is why the rest of the world see's them as "bum shoes". CLEAN YOUR CHUCKS!
Those converse were not that dirty to start with
i dont care what ANYONE says i would never throw away my laces they hold the memory of when i got these babies when they were new im glad i have the old laces thanks for the cleaning tips tho :)

Because they look cool and vintage. It's a Converse thing
Please, just throw them in the washing machine. They'll smell better. The laces get clean. If you have suede of leather ones, clean the soles with baby wipes or just a soapy cloth
Thxs man now I can clean my green hitops
Thanks. It helped a lot. No dirty shoes! Yay! Any tips to not get blisters when you get a new pair? It is sooo painful! :(
All I do is clean them with a wipe (to get dirt off of them) lol it takes me like 1 min to do it. I don't care for making them 'slick' or look brand new. I just want to wear them with something that looks nice lol I don't care for laces either XD Like wipe and wear
worm soapy water and a tooth brush works all right too. especially if you cant get ammonia.
just wash them in a washing machine on hot. I washed my shoes 3 times and they're still intact. The color fades a little, but that looks even better.
optic whit cleans really good on white shoes

@SwagKillsEveryone obviously you don't use it on the fabric. you use it on the rubber, the dirt that comes off is amazing. if you get it on the fabric just dab (don't rub) a bit of water on it and it will dry off and go away.

Will this affect the fabric in any way like color changes?
So i used a "Magic Eraser" the other day at work and it worked AMAZING and took 2 minutes per shoe to clean

does the ammonia fuck up the fabric dye?
Would it be okay to use bleach? Or would that damage the shoe?

Who gives a damn if hitops are better Shit man, some people think low tops are better. Your comment isn't necessary
toothpaste works like magic, perfect substitute for amonia
@1199cupcakes Thats the worst thing you could possibly do... It fades the HELL outta them.
Toothpaste does just as good of If not better job and can be used on all colors of converse. cheaper too.
Will it bleach the canvas if i accidently get some on it?
My Friend Used Tooth Paste...It Surprisingly Worked! (I Tried It!)

iHillery1 cause you just shouldn't wash your converse. its just something you don't do
I don't want muddy shoes, sorry if that bothers you. #sorrynotsorry
okay, they don't have to be muddy but when they are pearly white and shit it looks weird
I think your talking about them looking too "brand new" Yeah, you gotta break em in. But there's a point where they look dirtied to the point where it looks really old and tacky. Obviously after a time of wearing there's no such thing as pearly white, just not dirt covered.
