  • In Episode 19 Bugsy takes us down to a ledge in Sydney Australia for some land based lure fishing targeting Yellowtail Kingfish. Bugsy will be mainly focussing on topwater lures including floating stick baits and pencil poppers. Sydney has a number of premier rock fishing locations. Fishing off the rocks is a dangerous activity and safety should always come first. If you are going rock fishing check the swell conditions, wear a lifejacket, wear rock cleats or spikes, wear light clothing that you could confidently swim in, and fish with a friend to keep an eye out for each other. Remember to do your part to look after our fish stocks too. If you are going to keep fish, look after them and only take what you will eat. Take your rubbish home with you or throw it in the bin. Respect and preserve our natural wonders. Thank you

      @@Nomad_joey you are going to turn up at prime pelagic season. Everywhere will be firing. Sydney Harbour and Botany Bay are heating up. I avoid naming spots to respect the crew who fish them regularly

    I got busted off today by a massive Kingfish. My mate recorded the fight and looked to be over a metre at the surface. Biggest kingee ive lost that's for sure.

      @bugsyfishing  Před rokem

      Hey Harry, I've just got that one Ocean's Legacy rod the Specialist PE 2-4 9'8" and it has been great. Resilient to life on the stones and the action is good for shore jigging, stick baits and spinning minnows. I'd get another one for sure

    I just purchased a Zenaq Muthos Accura 100HHH. Looking for a pe8 reel. Do you still recommend the saltiga 20k?

    • @bugsyfishing
      @bugsyfishing  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Hi Ashley, that's a serious rod. Yes, I am happy with the Saltiga 20k. It is overkill for Sydney though. But I bought it because I could only afford one and wanted one I could use overseas for doggies etc too. I think a 14000 with PE6 would be more appropriately matched to kings off the rocks in Sydney but you never know ... might get a chance at one you need a 20k for

    • @ashleyedmonds9909
      @ashleyedmonds9909 Před 3 měsíci

      @@bugsyfishing yeah same. It'll be overkill for me but want a op reel for GT in the future. I read the retrieve rate is 143cm p turn. Is that too fast for stickbaits and poppers? Thx.

    • @bugsyfishing
      @bugsyfishing  Před 3 měsíci

      @@ashleyedmonds9909 nice. I haven't had an issue with using it for stickbaits and poppers. The retrieval rate seems fine. You soon adjust
