Gotta say bro, your reaction right at the end says it all. The noise of the engine is just like mine 🤣. Thanks at least for helping me establish that it isn't this!
Thanks for sharing. I bought a new one on ebay, and it clicks like the one you removed. It really looks like it was supposed to click, so the chain guide stays compressed to the chain firmly. I don't have the freaking torx head spanners now, once I get it and swap I'll let you know if it worked.
Yes, this solved the issue. Hasn’t rattled since. It still has the used part in it. If you have this problem, I highly recommend you change out this part first. Easy and inexpensive. Cant hurt.
Well, I replaced mine with new part (not original part though). the original tensor was stuck fully extended. My rattle is now worse - sounds like a diesel tractor at idle now. Suspect the timing chain is the issue.

Noise at start due to tensioner not pressurize, i soak mine in lube il before install it.. it run quite.. no rattle in monrning since that

actually, it clicks on the way in, not on the way back. anyways. let's see. thanks again for sharing
What's the part called that you replaced?
Timing chain tensioner
So did it fix the rattle on cold startup? There are so many other sounds in your final moments I can’t tell if it fixed it?

Sorry to hear! For sure if the tensioner was stuck at full the chain got stretched or guides are broken. Either way, it’s not an easy fix. Sucks!
