I sneaked out to watch this… I had to watch. I was so proud! Totally in agreement with their words! Then Global Citizen and the other statements they have made. It made an impact for good in my life. I’m 48 btw, because their message is transgenerational. It resonates with all regardless of gender, race or age… if you are able to listen with an open heart to care about the world and others.
What kings they are. Those speeches, that performance -- they'll be shown for years, for DECADES as examples of what using your power for *good* can be. Never been prouder to be ARMY than today, man.
Apparently they shot this just yesterday...amazing. 14 hour flight, day long shoot, then speaking in front of world leaders the next morning. They work so hard! I'm so proud of them. They are truly the pride of Koreans and Army all around the world

Someone else said in another comment thread, "When world leaders are pulling out their phones to record BTS-" I feel rather pensive among all this pride and respect, though. BTS and ARMY are unique in our connection, in their positivity and our support of them... but I find myself thinking, what if other artists and other fandoms were like this? RM famously said they're 'just seven ordinary boys from Korea', but damn if we couldn't use a world full of their kind of 'ordinary'.

they shot this video and i'm wondering how jetlagged they were. They are freakin' running from inside the assembly hall up to the courtyard and dancing with the NY skyline in foreground/background. This is so powerful and indeed they are the best envoy for the Youth. Stan a group that stands for SDG and relevant matters across all nations.

Lots of musical groups perform in the General Assembly chamber, but nothing like this!
Not true. I accompanied music groups from my country who performed in the same building. UN building also has a small performance hall with a stage and the works.
Beyonce performed in 2012 and Shakira in 2015. Still, so very proud and excited for BTS

A performance at/in the UN campus is so unprecedented and so meaningful. Gave me proud ARMY chills! They only had a small audience of background dancers and the video was shown to the general assembly while they watched, but it must have made the members so happy and emotional to perform in front of an audience. I was lukewarm about PTD at first but this is epic! 🤦🏻♀️

@@julietabastas5931 yes! People like to write off BTS as a moment or a kpop band. Few people are able to see the message and light they bring out to the world. Part of the reason I subscribed to this channel is the enthusiasm and joy in their reaction to BTS that goes beyond just being a boy band. These guys have the weight of the world on their shoulders, I would imagine and they're still so humble and honest in their struggle and success

♦️Apparently an inside source said that BTS, such hard workers, spent hours recording that video (VCR) earlier, on Sunday, at the UN to be shown right after all the members so brilliant speeches, link in reply, (right after President Moon's speech, who also introduced all BTS ever so proudly), so that all the participating dignitaries in attendance could not just hear their speeches but watch the VCR to see them actually perform as well!!

The has got to be one of their best performances. They sound great, move great, look great, location and weather is great. In their UN interview it is said they recorded this performance from 1am to the early morning, they must have been exhausted but still they bring it a million % You can’t help but love them 💜❤️

BTS is making history! 💜💜💜 They are not just promoting themselves and their songs. They are not superficial. They are a group with a clear objective and vision! They are extending their hands to reach out to people, to give hope and encouragements despite the circumstance. They make this world and situation bearable.

So proud of our boys! I have had the pleasure of visiting the UN in Switzerland (not NY) as part of an envoy representing the US. The feeling you get being there to discuss serious issues and find solutions to solve some of the worlds major problems on behalf of your country is amazing. You feel so small walking the large Halls. There is a gravity to the importance of the work. I know a lot of celebs pass through and it is interesting to the “intellectuals” there but there usually isn’t a lasting impact because there are only a handful who fully walk the walk. It is obvious that BTS has garnered the respect and trust of the UN to use their platform to bring awareness to serious issues. They are being seen as SINCERE strong messengers who have a powerful world wide reach. It is truly wonderful to see this relationship as well as their personal growth. I hope they continue to make a difference with their music, power, and positive influence. Diplomats never underestimate soft power & the good it can do. 💜
First of all, I am amazed that these guys did the recording so soon after landing in NY after what, a 14-hr flight? Talk about commitment and stamina! And then their composure when making that presentation at UNGA and their confidence and belief in their message from the youth to the rest of the world.
Finally the PTD performance. Love their fun vogueing as they went down the staircase. The sheer joy and exuberance and that is one lucky lady to be dancing with V!
This performance was so iconic! This is BTS’s world and we are just living in it 💜

The 7 nickel plated doors that BTS exited were donated by the Canadian Govt. On each door are 4 panels symbolizing Peace, Justice, Truth & Fraternity. It was serendipitous that they came out of those doors.

When I watched this morning (and now) I smiled the whole time. I couldn’t help but feel like they were delivering a message that there IS HOPE! There theme, so to speak, for this is #PermissionToDance. Living and being by myself I often wonder if there is any hope then these dudes pop up and verify that there is hope. If I didn’t have BTS to listen to or watch I don’t know if I would still be in this world today. It’s been that bad. 💜🌹🦋🗽🎫🕺🏻

The power BTS holds is phenomenal. They closed down Grand Central Station for "ON" performance; now they had the United Nations HQ reserved for them to give such an epic, beautifully shot performance of "Permission to Dance".

What an iconic moment in time! I'm SO extremely proud of our 7 young men of BTS, representatives of not just South Korea, but the world 🌎. Our 7 Kings of Pop are true Global Superstars who've achieved the topmost honor of performing in the UN's offices in NYC 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜!! I'm originally from New York where I lived for 39 years; I also worked for the last 12 of those years in an office building on 40th Street & 3rd Avenue, very close to the UN. I remember the traffic restrictions, including pedestrian traffic, when the UN was in session, and worse when the President attended! Relocated to Harrisburg, PA 3 months ago; wish I was still there to get a chance to see BTS! A 62-yr old A.R.M.Y. Mom with 3 Adult children; Daughter/Son/Daughter with my youngest sharing Jin's birth month and year 💜
I'm speechless. I'm tearing up knowing how they've grown so much not just as artists but also as individuals and leaders, making use of their platform and influence to spread positivity in the world. I'm so proud of them!

Thank you for sharing the same emotions we had while witnessing the greatest record for BTS. Beyond proud is what we felt, there is no other group like them; our 7 angels. Their performance in UN made me emotional and i actually cried, even though i am a senior ARMY who have never felt more connected to any musician before. They are true inspirations to all generations and the positive messages they conveyed and put into action are set for future generations to aspire. We are aiming for a better world.

They are pretty damn amazing. I've never "stanned" an artist before until I fell deeply in love with BTS last year. It has been the best and most comforting journey of my life. Never imagined I could love and care about any artist/celebrity the way I do with BTS.
This is amazing. I watched with disbelief. BTS is more than a musical group. They are truly something supernatural. Everything aligned perfectly at some point and decided this was the time for this phenomenon. I'm just greatful I exist in this moment to witness it.

At 7am cst I watched the UN General Assembly Conference live on UN WebTV and it was very informative. BTS did excellent speaking on topics like acceptance and coping, especially during these 2 years. After their presentation/speeches they showed this pre-recorded video.
Beyonce performed on UN headquarter 9 years ago. Shakira performed 5 years ago. BTS is the first group, first foreign artist to perform in UN headquarter and first to perform inside and out the building. I am so So so proud of them. Im glad UN allowed them to show interior of that building. Shakira and Beyonce were just on stage. Sharika didnt even sing her song (imagine by John Lennon) The amount trust they put on BTS to show the hall from the inside then out. I love it. After almost 2 years they get to perform in foreign country carrying a positive message to all
