I am not army but I do love BTS and the fact that they care about the conditions that people live in around the world. They are a fine example of what Artist can do when they show how much they care. Also as a person in the USA I thank them for saying that they are vaccinated. COVID is a real problem here. Maybe other young people will follow their example and get vaccinated so we can get COVID under control

I've been to The UN General Assembly room in The United Nation's Building in NYC. BTS walks out into the Art display hall and then out into the huge side courtyard. The move down into the UN's river front park that looks out on Manhatten. You have to be background checked, get special ID and go through two security check points to enter the grounds. There is an awe inspiring gravitas to being there. The large Gold wall with the UN emblem is gorgeous. I am so proud that BTS have given another great speech, this one is about climate change, and performed so beautifully there.

just thinking about how this is the first performance bts had outside their home country in almost two years and it’s at the united nations assembly hall. that’s. insane.
And the last time they were in New York around Feb 2020, it was a performance at Grand Central Station! I'm so proud of them... my heart was bursting watching this live. J-Hope's echoing in my head: Ohmygod, my heart-eu, my heart-eu...
Can't actually believe these amazing guys are real.. They are truly using their platform to elicit good changes. The power and sincerity in their words and performance gave the hope and comfort we all need.

Beyoncé did not make a speech/presentation to the General Assembly, she filmed a video and donated the song (written by Diane Warren). Shakira was a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF and is involved with charity work for children - she has given a speech to the UN regarding that, and she performed there for the Pope when he attended, which I agree is remarkable. Both women made significant contributions.
This was BTS third speech at the UN General Assembly, they were appointed official Special Envoys, complete with diplomatic passports, by their President, and they accompanied their president and First Lady to the UN. Yeah, I just think it’s on another level. I truly think BTS is changing the world, and I stand by “they aren’t ‘people’”. 💜
that is the United Nations Headquarters. nice that there are also 7 doors at the main public entrance where they passed through going out the building. as a trivia - these are 7 nickel plated ornamental doors donated by the Canadian Government. On the exterior of each one of the doors are 4 panels in bas-relief symbolizing peace, truth, justice and fraternity. and the shot having their back, the background was the NYC skyline across the Hudson River. Choreography and flow was so good. I would think the reason Mr. Son (choreographer) went in advance to NYC (a week before and even able to attend the VMA) was to do a look-see of the UN venue so he can plan and come up with the choreography and flow from inside the assembly hall going outside to show the facade of the UN HQ buliding and then to the outside grounds and show the skyline of NYC. Very brilliant and amazing planning and execution at its best. Their live singing here is even better than the official MV.

They filmed this the day before the assembly. In their speech they coined today's youth as The Welcome Generation. This song/performance tied in perfectly with their message of new beginnings and inspiration for tomorrow.
Let's not praise only one member, especially today. Let's appreciate all 7 guys. They made it all together from the bottom with hard work, dedication and brotherhood 😊💜💜
There really are seven doors on the north side of the United Nation's General Assembly Building. These nickel-bronze doors were a gift from the nation of Canada and each one has bas-reliefs symbolizing peace, justice, truth and fraternity.

Exactly. Seven doors for seven members! This was pre-ordained. :P The energy and happiness and hope in this performance showed exactly why they're the perfect 'youth ambassadors'. Not just youth, but LIFE and hope ambassadors. This is beyond even the fabled Grammy stage (ahem). And at this rate, I swear they'll be the first to perform off planet, care of Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk or Richard Branson! Headlines be screaming: BTS performs while orbiting Earth!
Not to mention that their music is already scheduled to be played during NASA's 2024 lunar mission.
Who knows, there might end up being some extraterrestrial ARMYs by the time they hold a space concert 🤭
@@em5522 Oh, cool - I didn't know that! I looked it up. So this was a thing since 2019! (I've been a fan for just under a year, but BTS is already like family to me now). I love that one of the songs they chose was 134340 (Pluto), a personal fave.
I wouldn't be surprised if BTS already has extraterrestrial fans (whether on or off Earth, haha). Us earthlings are like the babies of the galaxy and despite recent advances, our space travel tech is still in its infancy. Those more advanced have been observing us for ages. ;p

This was all shot at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, indoors and right outside on the premises - what's interesting is that it's considered "international territory" (Wiki: "extraterritoriality is the state of being exempted from the jurisdiction of local law, usually as the result of diplomatic negotiations.") The UN also has main offices in Geneva (Switzerland) and a handful of other cities but New York is the original headquarters. I guess they filmed all this just the day before, which is amazing - and what perfect sunny blue skies to welcome them back with!

You can tell it's not as polished and perfect as most their live recorded performances are and I love it!! The rawness of it fits where they are at and what they are doing perfectly!💜💜😭

I was just thinking to myself earlier how you have to be all formal and on best behavior at the UN and places like that, and BTS being the lovable goofy crackheads that they are, I just wanted them to run around all over the place - and that's what they ended up doing, haha! Like you said, it felt spontaneous and happy. Great to see.

I am soo proud of them! Their whole journey comes to my mind🥺 From requesting people to attend their concerts to speaking in The UN! They are inspiration not only for the youth but for all! The future generations too! They convey positive messages through their music and their work! They have had soo much more difficulties in life than anyone could imagine! I would literally give up if I was in their position! Even in these dark days they became our sunshine ☀️. I cant return them anything because I cant. I am just a small person from somewhere on earth who wants to give them happiness but still cant! I just have hope and that hope BTS has given me!!!
I cried so much as I was watching this live as I was just so proud of the guys that words can't begin to explain just how proud I was.
I love this so much and the lads truely taught me to love myself and just be happy for who I am and not for who people want me to be.

That is the UN headquarters in New York. That's the famous grounds they were on. That's not the NY skyline. Since it's across the water that's actually New Jersey(native New Yorker and resident here) They are on the NY side. Beautiful performance. They have come so far. I am so happy for them.

The biggest competition for BTS is BTS themselves..They are raising the bar every single time..One may feel that with each new performances these boys have outdone their previous ones and they can't do any magic further..But then the next time, they do something even better and even more powerful work.The choreographers, the art directors, the men who handle the camera, the editors- they also deserve huge applause for their extraordinary work.

No one has ever performed at the UN..this was a special because BTSA now has a role to promote the Sustainable Development goals of the UN for Climate Change to the youth. They are the voice of the young and future generation globally due to their positive influence on them. 100+ million fans ++. A force to reckon with ARMY!
