The fact Chris Martin quarantined for 14 days in South Korea just to allow him to work with BTS in person says a lot. Many artists wouldn't even bother and would decide to work remotely.
He said in an interview on Apple Music it was just a few days.

To see such genuine mutual respect is a real joy. Props to Chris Martin for going all the way to Korea, I’m glad he obviously loved this collaboration and the boys individually and collectively. I’m so thrilled BTS got to work with someone they have looked up to. The sincerity shines through. And the song is awesome.

to be honest, Chris is right BTS are the most popular artist in the world but BTS call Chris such a celebrity as if they are normal people. BTS are so humble down to earth
The way Chris was during the entire documentary.... he's do admirable, he just radiates positivity. He tried his best for the Collab & it can bee seen. The mutual respect and the bond Bangtan and Coldplay share is so wholesome 🥺✨
We need more Coldplay and BTS! They're such progressive bands, constantly trying to change the world even if it's just a bit. All of them respect the LGBTQ+ community and all races, beliefs and cultures. I'm so glad that we can have them in our lives.
Chris Martina literally said ‘‘I’ll do it with Jungkook’’ so he directed the whole progression of the song and decided to sing with him.
chris found jungkook so impressive to the point he wanted to sing with him together, let that sink in. he wanted to hear just them two harmonize and public’s reaction shows what top tier decision that was. he knew what he was doing
I’m always amaze and proud about jk’s unmached voice and talents, who always grabs attention of general public and locals the most doesn’t matter he has few sencond lines or 2 lines more. never have seen anyone like him. even bts members always saying that. there is no one like him. he’s indeed the true worldwide icon and the most talented artist ever. no wonder he is always the highlight everywhere and called the most popular and impactful idol multiple times by random/biggest medias and magazines.
The fact that he does so much for the group. Works so hard but still receive hate for getting a few seconds more even though he is the main vocalist. I wish people would have appreciated him more but when I saw Chris praising him it made me so happy and proud. He deserves it so much.

Can’t be more proud. he is so insnae and even haters are obsessed with him. Can’t wait for his solo album, since he is the most versatile singer can sing any genre/styles and also everyone wanna work with him and we have seen many legends like Beyoncé, ariana, maddona, lauv, Jessi, etc and now chris were so impressed by him. he has the voice can attract the general public easily. they know how techniquly he is unbeatable, no matter how many lines he sings. indeed standout vocalist.

Sammy I was in tears to see this documentary. It sure was wholesome. These two bands finally met & they have the same vibes, same thoughts, same vision ,same moto in their work of art MUSIC. They speak the same language. I am in awe of Chris Martin, such a humble beautiful being just as BTS. That's why they clicked so well. This is a beautiful bond. I will hold on to this so g for long. Love this song so much, emotionally attached to it.

I didn't realize RM wrote lyrics for the song. And Chris Martin wrote in a dance break for them. I just wish the song had more BTS lines in it. Maybe next time. Chris did direct this song performance. He is good!

Another wholesome video. Who doesn't fall in love in with these videos. When there is bts there is always a special thing about it . Literally loving your reactions. They have respect toward each other.
This is a great documentary and it really highlighted every single piece of the song coming together, I really enjoyed that. Here's to more awesome collaborations like this one!
P.S.: When I saw that shot of BTS' live concert, I knew it was from São Paulo, because we Brazilian ARMYs are the loudest, haha.
South Korea doesn't allow "regular" tourists at the moment so I'm guessing Chris had to get a special permit to travel there (we're all lucky he got one).
And he had to quarantine for 14 days when he arrived in South Korea.
@@crystalsnow1138 he mentioned he was there for 2 or 3 days. I'm more inclined to think they found a way around it
@@olgag9901 He said he recorded for 2 days with BTS, but they were in South Korea a little longer because they also shot their music video for Higher Power while there. South Korea don't play with quarantine no matter how rich and famous you are.
@@crystalsnow1138 I never said they play with quarantine, but restrictions in every country have exceptions for specific cases, so I thought maybe this was one of these cases. It just seems a bit ridiculous for someone, who I assume is a busy man, to spend 14 days in quarantine for about a week's worth of actual work
@Ayda Lucero Fleck there's being busy and taking time to travel to a different country to record music, and then there's sitting in quarantine for 14 days, not able to record or shoot anything. 2 different things.
if Coldplay would have decided for whatever reason to wait until South Korea lifted the quarantine to travel there, it wouldn't have been any less respectful.

About minute 5:34, yes, Coldplay were in a world tour in 2016 and 2017, with their A Head Full of Dreams tour, they visited almost every possible country they were able to get to, including South Korea. I remember there were some comments those years about a Coldplay collaboration with BTS since then. With My Universe, we have seen that dream come true 🎶

Chris wanted to do it in person; he’s old school that ways. I think this was mentioned in one of the interviews he did. You should check that out; some more details related to the collab. The boys have Butter hair and this was recorded in April; so the song hadn’t been released when Chris was hearing it in the studio. Really can’t wait to see their concerts as I’m both an Army and a Coldplayer!!

The fact that Chris Martin went through all of the hurdles to meet the strict Covid protocols so that he could go to Korea and record the song with BTS directly shows how much the song means to him and how respectful he is of BTS and their part in this collaboration. The song is amazing and you can tell they genuinely like and respect each other. They look like they had a blast recording it and we get to hear the beautiful results! 💞

Yeah. Coldplay did a concert in Korea in 2017, hobi and namjoon went together to watch it.

Feeling the mutual respect between these two groups with similar interests and ideals is extremely special. Every member looked like they were having so much fun during the whole process… the parts are broken down for whatever sound they were looking for when it comes to tone. Ppl bitching about line distribution frustrate me… so much hate for jk having more lines just like there always is even though he’s the main vocalist… has a medium tone that he’s able to sing high and low with more ease bc of that… his voice will fit more parts… but these boys were clearly so proud of this song…. Celebrating hearing it and vining out so hard and they’re so excited about it… and one of the first things flooding the comments are line distribution… it’s getting ridiculous… all vocalists are top tier… and less lines has nothing to do with their skill… it’s about the intended sound and style. Stop acting like less lines are for bad singers bc that’s your issue.. not theirs. I’m happy he told them all how good they were doing and what he said to jhope… and I’m glad he complimented jk as well… bc he deserves it as much as everybody else does. Bts has so much love and respect for each other and would never create content that they all didn’t feel good about… so shut up and appreciate the hard work, mind body and soul they put into everything and stop hating on other members or hating on Chris and Coldplay … it’s devastating to see such ignorance.
