I took a university course that required a *glue stick.* I immediately made an appointment with the head of school and protested so vehemently he gave me 'advanced standing' so I didn't have to do it. It was some stupid mandatory core unit for part of my combined law degree (LL.B / Bachelor of Comm Sciences, they were so poor in communicating the school of communications forced us to select 'majors' (something you cannot do in a combined law degree) - they were truly, truly brainless.) and I was paying $2k per unit for that nonsense. I get that most universities are just people smuggling operations for rich Chinese businessmans kids these days (51% of my alma maters assets were in China even in 2003) but you'd think they'd PRETEND to be an academic institution, not day care.

She truly is! I was swept right into the story and could not wait to hear what was going to happen next!
There are so many hidden treasures in the world. I have NO idea why I clicked on that butter making video a few years ago, but I'm so glad that I did! :)
Now the only question remaining is if Mrs. Crocombe can time travel, or if we have Blackadder situation on our hands, where, no matter at which point in history you look, you will always find an Avis Crocombe.

I felt like a 7 year old kid again while listening and watching to Kathy. She is on another level and never had I set my eyes on history until I saw her portray Mrs Crocombe.

I’m from Japan and this story has some similarities to “The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter” also known as “The Tale of Princess Kaguya”, a Japanese monogatari (fictional prose narrative) containing Japanese folklore. This story you’re telling is very interesting.

i had no idea. I've always heard about that, but assumed it was closer to a Thumbelina or Momotaro kind of story.

I have seen Kathy Hipperson in clothes from the La Tène period to modern garments and in many different roles and personas, and every single one of them is just gorgeous and amazing. I know that she is mostly known for Mrs. Crocombe here on CZcams, but I hope that many people see beyond that one single (and lovely) role.
The prioress may be beautiful, but the storyteller is quite the stunner herself :-)

I love the excitement in the telling of this old English tale. Also, much care was taken in the costume design and the setting was spot on. The actress who plays this character, as well as Mrs Crocombe, is seriously one of the best actresses I’ve ever seen. Most things like this, educational stories that take in the past, the acting is usually cringy. However, SHE is the reason why we all love this channel so much. It’s incredible how she gives so much personality to these characters.
I love how she sneakily explains all the less common words. Very friendly for non native speakers, I very much enjoyed it!
