Miss Fanny is a winsome lass and a good dairy maid. I have made butter for several years using much the same methods. I preferred ours to be unsalted. We lived near a large military base and they contracted locally for a large volume of low-fat milk for the troops and their families. The result was we had readily available and less expensive cream to use!
