Surely a dove would be a more suitable decoration for Whitsun... Though I guess not many people decorate their homes for that.

As we wish"Merry/happy Christmas and peace on earth"... a dove is a perfect symbol. Many non religions Christmas cards show a dove with a laurel twig just wishing peace.
Now, as a curious cat I'm off to Google to learn about Whitsun. Always keeping a wide open mind and heart.
