    Rwanda’s President Habyarimana was keenly aware of the refugee problem. His solution, however, was that they assume citizenship of the countries where they had sought refuge, pleading that there was no more room in Rwanda. His demonstration of the overflowing glass of water only made refugees more determined. Though embarrassed by the RPF invasion, Museveni also explained that Uganda was not a prison where exiles anxious to go home were kept by force. The rest is history…

    First I would like to thank you for your effort on bringing this History out so for those who don't know our History,
    It is true we need peace with our neighbours if you back in our History people from Party Rwanda, Burundi,Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania Sudan, and Congo we share same language same mother and same father example if you go the other side of Tanzania from kagera rivers up to masaka you will find this people are same they speak luganda, kihaya, kinyankole, and kiziba and it is the same with other neighbours to go to kapchorwa sebei people are same with kalenjini in Kenya same name same language same culture, it is the same with basamia in uganda and Kenya Bagisu of Uganda and Kenya and other Nation too, but because of poor thinking of some Politician or leader Africa they failed to dig deep and find our our people are the same we need to find simple way of bring this nation together so our people work together leaves together in peace and harmony but this is not the case leader are so selfish they don't think one day you will go and the country will remain,
    This is lesson that we can still work and find a solution for our people.
    Once again Mr owana thank you so
    much for this History this clip is very important very important.

    Basing on my observations of the whole visit, the appearance of the environment and the people in Rwanda, it shows that Rwanda was more organised than Uganda by 1986. It's therefore a misconception to assert that Rwanda has gone far ahead of Uganda now, but it's Uganda that has gone far as compared to the situation of Uganda by the time M7 became president, and that of Rwanda by that time.

Only good thing about the Umwami if what I read is true, is that he had served as a police officer in the USA before retirement.

Africa is the most diverse part of the world, it is very easy to find differences among ourselves but only and unless we learn to go beyond our tribalistic petty thinking, our continent is going nowhere. We can't even dream of achieving unity in the region if our leaders don't learn to step ahead of their misunderstandings for the benefits of their people. Habyarimana, a great man, father of 8, always the first of his class, the first soldier enrolled at Rwandese army, his reasoning was far ahead of his generation's. How many Rwandans did M7 recruit, officers and rank and file. Give the total and ask if there were no numbers to fill those ranks. UG's population has always been 3 times larger than Rwanda's, so i'll dare say all the Banyarwanda who joined M7 did so out of their own necessity, not because they were exceptional. Let's detach emotions fron our arguments. Just facts.

    Habyarimana was an intelligent soldier. He knew very well that these guerrillas wanted to go back to Rwanda and create local support before starting rebel activities within.
    It is known that Kagame had already visited Rwanda to study the ground and of caurse it was not possible for Frelimo and Cuban trained whose education background was only military to go back to Rwanda and seek for employment around taxi park in Kigali.

By the time when Gen Sejjusa or Dr Besigye Kiiza were on exile what did say ? Today there Konny and is a Ugandan to my understanding .why do you comment on that ?I think Rwandans and Ugandans are sisters and brothers therefore you should find another reconciling heading due to the current crisis .just see how many oppositions that are in need of change e.g. people power,FDC,Ant of Gen Muntu and so on

    • @OWANAPAEDIA
      @OWANAPAEDIA  Před 4 lety

      You are incoherent and if I don't get you correctly please correct me at once.
      First, there is no CANTEEN where I am, so nothing is hidden here. Second, our title for the series is a simple question which many have tried to answer to the best of their knowledge and judgment. You tell me that Joseph Kony is to your understanding a Ugandan, a fact I know very well. Then you ask, "why do you comment on that?" I have not commented about Ladit Kony anywhere.
      It seems that to you, People Power, FDC, ANT of Gen Muntu and maybe Gen Muntu himself, are exiles or refugees simply because they are in need of change!!
      You ask what I said when Gen Sejusa and Col Besigye briefly went into exile? I said in several newspaper articles that this was a quarrel among members of one family and that they would return peacefully even if they continued to oppose their mentor and historical commander, Mzee Museveni. I was 100% correct and none of them is in exile or a refugee but they want Museveni out of power.
      Lest I forget, we shall not change the title of these series because you have given us no sound reasons to do so. Keep tuned to OwanaPaedia where it is ....JUST FACTS!

    The tutsis had ,a longtime ago ,a plan to conquer and rule the entire east and central Africa . They did by toppling Ugandan Obote regime . Burundi was already being ruled by tutsis since independence. It was Rwanda's turn to fall then Zaire which happened. Laurent Kabila who believed his so called allies were real friends was assassinated on January 17 2001 then replaced by his so called son Jseph Kabila who's actually a former RPA soldier, a tusti. Now Congo is under Tutsi power with of cause the collaboration of few corrupt congolese politicians who have contributed to sell their country.
