Hey, Mike! Thanks for the lengthy walkthrough and all the useful insights and tips.
You are very welcome.
Very useful video. This week I bought a kit from you for the monojet on my c10, cant wait to rebuild it. I am extremely impressed with the quality of the kit and the emanual, will buy carb kits from you in the future.
I appreciate it. Thanks for the feedback.
I find the trick to replacing the rods for the accelerator pump and power piston is to put the pump linkage together first, then loosely put the screw in the cam to hold things in place, then you can insert the other linkage into the power actuator rod hole and tighten the screw. It will still test your patience. LOL
Thanks for the tip.
Hello, love the videos. I have a question, do you know where to find the internal idle air vent or air horn vent assembly for the monojet carbs?
This video should give you a good idea where to look: czcams.com/video/uMDQiLkmBbk/video.htmlsi=Gk39pQjsfW4LK1Gg
Thx for the video really helps. What do u use to clean the little parts like the power piston or metering rod?
The metering rod is too easy to break so don't do much except soak in carb cleaner. Power piston is soaked then sometimes buffed in soft wire wheel.
Wondering what makes these leak from the base. I opened my carb up and whatever is causing the leak empties the fuel bowl. Dont understand how it could drop down to the metering orfice. It apears its somehow escaping through the metering orfice or pinhole at bottom of fuel bowl
look down the carburetor after turning off a warm engine. If gas is dripping into the bore then check this page: www.carburetor-parts.com/rochester-monojet-troubleshooting
Hi Mike! I Have an autolite 4100 Carb. The shop manual calls for a #85 power valve for 0 - 5,000' elevation. I'm at sea level so according to the book I need #85. Does this mean 8.5? the other choices are #75 for 5,000 - 10,000 and #65 for 10,000 and above elevation.
I don't know what those number mean but I'll bet it is the HG.
Great video, very informative
#85 means .085"
