    I'm an introvert and I love my side hustle as an overnight janitor in an Irish pub and restaurant. I bop in around 2 a.m. and finish by 5 a.m. Not a soul in sight and the pay is quiet good due to the odd hours. Adds another 10K to my annual income.

    Another side job for an introvert is being an elderly companion for a few hours a week. I did that for many years. Basically you just spend time with an elderly person so they are not alone all day. I would help make their lunch or help them do some house cleaning. Other times we would go to a movie or out for a walk or food shopping. I met many nice seniors and always looked forward to spending time with them..I learned a lot from them too!

    • @reenester
      @reenester Před 5 lety +3

      Kimiko Arra The best way is to Google elderly companion in your city/ town. There are a number of home care agencies that are looking to hire companions for their clients. You could also place a notice on a bulletin board at the local Senior Center..plus tell all your friends/family on social media in case they know a senior that may need some help..but a Home care agency like Visiting Angels or something similar is your best bet.

    I think there should be a niche market for drivers who are marked as introverts. I bet a LOT of people who want to use rideshare would prefer a driver who just drives and isn't chatty. I know I would! I enjoy genuinely engaging conversation but most often it feels forced and I'd rather just ride in silence and not feel obligated to chat with a stranger.

    I'm an accountant too. It's a good job for introverts who work more with paper than people. If you are part of a team in a small company or are tasked with projects, it is a good career option. If it were public accounting & meeting clients or presenting financials in front of boards of directors, then it's not a good fit. Side hustle - I'm trying eBay & online selling of what I own. Need to get new carpet & MUST pay cash for it! I love to sew n craft, but the cost of manufacturing (my time) may not represent profits! Lol! Thoroughly enjoy your videos, very matter of fact, not pretentious.

    I have always been what’s called a Shy extrovert - I have moments of shyness that come out of nowhere but most of the time I am an extrovert and the center of the party, meeting, etc. which was fine with what I was doing for the last five years
    The challenge I have found is that the more my chronic illness has become an issue it’s harder and harder to be on in large groups of people ...Too much stimulation too confusing… so I have change my business to online sales
    I want to stay home probably 90% of the time and only go out for those rare occasions… I get a lot of my social need nowadays through specialize chat groups that are geared towards the business I’m creating...
    On the plus side… Less wear and tear on the car, less gas mileage, less need for clothes, less temptation to overbuy, lots and lots of benefits to staying home!

      I am also an ìntroverted extrovert. I hate large gatherings and social situations and groups of over 6. However, most times, people would never know this. When I can't walk the walk, I talk the talk. When I was a kid, 100 years ago, we actually had lessons on conversation and " deportment " whatever that was. I use some of those tools when in a new area for me. I ask questions of the person I'm with to let them talk about themselves. Usually, we have something in common. Then, when I can, I get the heck out of there and go home to my quiet little house. lol

    • @Faithful10415
      @Faithful10415 Před 4 lety +4

      Dora I can so relate. Most of the time if we engage in a conversation and let the other person talk it is kind of easy. People love to talk about themselves. Then they think you are the greatest person in the world for giving the gift of listening to them. I love to ask questions. I do find that some people are not comfortable when being asked questions though so I try to gauge the type of questions I ask so they don't seem invasive or too personal. It's a fine lady line and being aware of other people's reactions.

    I've been on CZcams for five years and my income really hasn't changed. If anything, with CZcams policy changes I make less money. I've done Etsy/hand made art multiple times but often people are not willing to pay what things cost. Something could cost $20 in supplies and 10 hours of your time but people only want to pay $10. Swagbucks often you are only getting a few cents per survey, if you even qualify. These are good ideas but not often something that someone who is working full-time can manage to make real money on. To make a good amount of money these won't really work.

    I average $10 a day on Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk) for about 90 minutes of work. Several years ago, I did well flipping used items that I bought at Goodwill on eBay, but that market fizzled out. I found Mturk in '16 and made a few dollars doing surveys, rating photos, correcting grammar, and other 'micro jobs.' Now that I've figured out how to use the software that catches tasks when I'm not sitting right there at the keyboard, I can limit myself to the few things that pay 5 bucks an hour or better. When broke, it's easy to fall for the humiliating pay rate of some tasks, which can be $1 an hour.

I love to craft and spend many many happy hours alone doing it but I can get antsy if I am not around people My job fulfills that need but even there I can be happy working alone just knowing people are in the offices around me. I am naturally friendly and empathetic. I guess I am a mix of intro-extro. By the way good ideas! (The whole point of your video!) i know someone who delivers for Amazon. You can make between $50-$100 shift and it's extremely flexible. After gas expenses it's some cash. Have also considered opening an Etsy or similar shop to sell my handmade cards and journals. But because I am a 100% type person not sure I want to manage that commitment to being a stellar online shop owner while doing my full time job. Have been pondering this literally for months. Will give these ideas consideration. Thanks!

    Hi Dana, I too am a corporate accountant, but I only have 2 years of experience. Would you do a video about your career? I am curious about the rate of raises. The company I work for does annual raises. Any advice for career development as a corporate accountant? Thanks

      Hmm. In my experience you'll move ahead if you're genuinely interested in helping the company succeed. Volunteer to take on new things etc. I also tell my boss often how grateful I am to be there. (sincerely) When bonuses come up, they'll likely think of you.
      If that doesn't work - be prepared to move on to another company if there's simply no opportunities to advance there. They can only do what they can do.
      Good luck!!!! 👍🏻

    My friend makes a very good living doing pet sitting. She lives in a small city and has an abundance of clients. However, she has a sweet bubbly personality and is completely trustworthy. She has to deal with clients and new folks on a daily basis and is totally an extrovert. I’m not sure a true introvert could do this and make much money.

    • @msdanaryan
      @msdanaryan  Před 5 lety

      True, if you own the business there's marketing and customer service involved. But, if you work for a company you pretty much just deal with the pets.

    Landscaping and gardening are also good jobs for introverts. There is a huge demand for landscaping and people pay good money for it. You are out in nature and there is not much social interaction.

    Here are some other side hustle ideas!
    1.Selling firewood in winter , bagged up or bulk , or bagged kindling is a good side business. Often timberyards will have a scrap bin and will be happy for you to take wood offcuts.
    2.Growing and selling plants is a good business, chillies especially the superhot varieties sell well, cacti and succulents too. Pots can be sourced free from landscape contractors. Many succulents and cacti grow readily from cuttings. Sell them on Facebook Marketplace.
    3.Household chores/handyman type jobs, raking leaves, clearing gutters in Autumn, cleaning house windows , repairing flyscreens, gardening and weeding are simple chores many older people can't do.
    4.Replacing tap washers/reseating tap washers , irrigation system repairs/replacing sprinklers isn't difficult.
    5.mulching gardens/weeding gardens/mowing lawns.
    6.Washing and polishing cars.
    7.Picking up and delivering items if you have a car or van, rubbish removal.
    Once you have some money save it, use it to invest in things you can later sell for a profit such as buying small plants and growing them for a season then selling them larger, buying things cheap at garage sales then sell them on Facebook marketplace.

    Another way to earn some cash is to donate plasma. You can earn $70-100+ per week. I go twice a week, about 2 hours total, and take home the $$$. Can't be afraid of needles though!

      Nothing wrong with it as long as you do it safely. Nephew did it for years. According to Weatherspoon (2018), Donating plasma is mostly a safe process, but side effects do exist. Donating plasma can cause common but usually minor side effects like dehydration, fatigue, and a citrate reaction is a very serious but very rare side effect of plasma donation. Donation center should put you through a screening process. You can donate plasma every 28 days, up to 13 times per year. While the FDA does allow donors to give plasma more frequently, this is the best practice for safety. Drink an extra 16 ounces of clear, nonalcoholic fluids (preferably water) before your donation. This can help prevent dizziness, fainting, lightheadedness, and fatigue.
