Denis Law, a revered Scottish football legend, has faced one of his toughest challenges off the pitch. Renowned for his remarkable career, particularly at Manchester United, Denis now confronts a personal battle with mixed dementia, including Alzheimer’s and Vascular dementia.
In the history of Scottish football, Denis Law stands as a beacon of inspiration and greatness. Born on February 24, 1940, in the city of Aberdeen, Scotland, his life began in humble circumstances. As the youngest of seven children in a family struggling with the rigors of poverty, Denis's early years were far from the future glamour he would experience. These years in the modest neighborhoods of Aberdeen were critical in shaping his resilient character. Amidst financial challenges, his passion for football blossomed, setting him on an extraordinary journey from the rugged streets of his hometown to becoming a celebrated icon of Scottish football.

The Kop always gave him a good reception when Utd played at Anfield. Bill Shankly was his manager at Huddersfield, Kenny Dalglish idolises the great man. Denis is a humble man, a passionate man who represents everything that is good in football. He has few equals in the history of professional football and it is befitting of the great player he was that a statue was built outside Old Trafford depicting Denis in that iconic pose with his arm raised alongside Bobby and George. His hometown of Aberdeen afforded him the same accolade. A true legend if ever there was one.

Too many inaccuracies and some very repetitive visuals sometimes in the wrong context. I watched Denis from when he first played for Huddersfield Town, 100% commitment from a skinny teenager, later attending most of his Old Trafford career. What a fantastic never-say-die team player and a wonderful entertainer.

First saw DL play around 1959-1960 when aged around 10. Drew 1-1 in the FA Cup at Huddersfield, then a replay at Upton Park on a snowy pitch on a mid-week afternood. Law took us apart, Huddersfield winning 5-1! Always a class act. Just a shame that this clip completely omits Denis speaking for himself.

As a Liverpool supporter I watched Law, Charlton and Best etc at Anfield and of course on TV. Rather than focus on sadness I would rather reflect on a great player who will leave a lot of good memories. He did go from City to Utd, but via Torino.
Another poor omission that was not explained, and that his time in Turin wasn't even mentioned!

Why sad ? How do you know he's sad? Are you his mother or wife? Someone commented that every post you put up states' how he now lives is sad.Come on, be real! .That type of sickness naturally comes with old age.

This was a poor effort, There were to many black and white clips also 4 clips of Denis relegating United. There is tons of material of the man scoring for club and his country. You did not do synch the video with the audio very well. The Audio itself was crap I would guess it was AI generated as too often it was basically the same words repeated over and over. Denis Law is a legend and deserved better

If I've got this right.. I went to his testimonial, against Ajax ... alas The king was out injured, tho' United won 1-0 .the full back Alex Forsyth scoring.. hope that's correct, but it's a long time ago, The Doc was the boss, I think.

    • @mojofitz

I think Man City refused permission for the King to play in his testimonial v Ajax as he had signed for City for his last season in football when it was staged.
