I watched this game in the parking lot of the Meadowlands before the Italy-Ireland game. It was a hot bright day and we had a tiny 8" tv in the back of the trunk and had about 50 people crowded around us. It was great to hear all of the celebrations throughout the parking lot after that kick.
World Cup '94 - I was there! Not at this game, but I witnessed Saudi Arabia vs. Holland in Dallas. 2-1 Holland. I'll never forget how crazy it was! The traffic was so bad that people were getting out of their cars ON THE HIGHWAY and walking to the game, so that they wouldn't be late. This was really the beginning of prominence for US Soccer. The past 17 years have been building blocks on the foundation that was laid here.
Haha I remember these uniforms. What can I say it was the 90's. Im not a fan of the U.S soccer team but this goal by Wynalda is perfect. Just perfect. You'd have to be Fabian Barthez or Chilavert to stop a ball like that!
I was there. Better yet My Brother and I were the first to kick a ball on that field two weeks prior while it lay waiting in the parking lot ready to be moved in to the Silver Dome. That poor 300 lb. security guard had no chance as we hopped that mis-fit fence going out to M-59 West. A ball never floated off my foot so true.
