How To Set the Clock and Change the Time On Most Generic or Unbranded Microwave Ovens

Most microwave ovens now use a similar method for setting the time on the front. Many different kitchen counter appliances like microwave ovens are made by the same manufacturers and sold under different brand names or with similar parts and designs.

Microwaves, coffee makers, air fryers, convection ovens and even some toaster ovens have clocks on them these days and trying to set all the clocks during Daylight Saving Time can be a hassle. Fortunately, most of these kitchen appliances have adopted a general method for changing and setting the time: The Clock Button!
If your device has a Clock button you typically only have to hit it once or hold it in, either type in the new time or advance up or down to the new time on the display, and then press the Clock or Start button to save your changes and get your out of "time changing" mode.
Many other small appliances are following this same methodology. It's quick and easy!

I have a Rival microwave and it's about 8 to 10 years old and the correct way that worked for my microwave and by the way I did set the time before only it wouldn't work this time. What I had to do was unplug the microwave and then plug it back in and everything reset and then I pressed the clock button and then was able to key in the time from the number pad and then press clock again and it's working now.

How to set temperature

You can't really set a temperature with a microwave oven. Microwave ovens just produce microwaves at a single intensity to excite the molecules in your food, which produces heat. You can use "power levels" which really just turn the magnetron tube off an on at different intervals. A power level of 10 (or 100) means the oven is producing microwaves to cook your food 100% of the time. A power level of 3 (or 30) means the oven is really only producing microwaves 30% of the time and NOT cooking anything for 70% of the time.
