You’ve probably seen by now that the watch that keeps breaking records has just broken another, becoming the indisputably thinnest mechanical watch of all time. The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra is the logical successor to that title considering Bulgari’s train of innovation, but the most exciting prospect is that they don’t seem to be settling here.
The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra comes in at just 1.8mm thin, necessitating not only four years of development for the movement but also reimagining how to manufacture a slim enough bracelet and clasp to keep the watch balanced on your wrist. It’s a very Bulgari thing to talk about how the experience of the watch is just as much a part of the artistry as the watch itself, although the Octo Finissimo Ultra takes this up a notch by including a functional QR code etched into the mainspring barrel. The link takes you to a special exclusive video that comes with an NFT.
If you want to hear more about the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra’s creation, meaning and function, watch the video to see Andrew’s trip to the Pantheon and discussion with Bulgari’s Product Creation Executive Director - Fabrizio Buonamassa Stigliani.

Amazing engineering miracle, super cool design, but if I was in the market for a 400k watch, I wouldn’t want a damn QR code on its dial
QR code is essential part of this watch and story. Like colors in Moonswatch...
@@igorbogdanovic1978 Which still doesn’t mean I have to like it ;-)
Gimmicky perhaps. But, imagine tie that to your personal website. So rather than exchanging business cards..."Here, as can my watch".
@@oi_bilbo1082 400.000€ Business Card 😵
@@oi_bilbo1082 Ok, but that QR code could've been smaller. That big space should've been reserved for the dials...
NFT scam included lol
Most NFTs don't include a 1/10 record breaking watch unfortunately.
Excellent collaboration video with Bulgari and T+T. Nicely done Andrew and team. Rome is a great place. ⌚👍🇦🇺🇮🇹
That thickness (thinness?) is insane. NFT? Meh…
Michael Kors add on the back during the interview😂
I am a fan of the classic Vacheron Constantin cal. 1003 (1,64mm) but this is on a different, modern level!
Thanks for the video!
amazing engineering..beautiful craftmanship😍😍😍👍👍👍
The Bulgar Octo Watches were always very lovely to look at, and this Octo Finissimo is even more beautiful, BUT a Price of 400K is just INSANE, and not worth it.
True. But there are plenty of people out there who will buy this watch straight after it’s release.
A thing is worth whatever people will pay for it.
It’s the thinnest mechanical watch, I don’t think you realize how much time and money it costs to make it
AliExpress sells copies tho
It's a watch that doesn't tell time as well as a $15 digital watch, it's obviously not "worth it".
The QR code print seems to be an outcome of the design constraint 'building the thinest watch'. The arrangement of the working parts had to be such that the giant gear can't be hidden below the dials or elsewhere because of this design constraint. So, they might have pondered on how to make the ugly plain giant gear aesthetically pleasing and decided to put a QR and make it even less aesthetically appealing. I might have appreciated an engraved illustration or similar that instills the heritage of BVLGARI instead of some stupid QR. And NFT? Serioulsy? What does that even mean?
Nahhhhh
@@Timeandtidewatches what's your take?
They could.have just decorated the gear if they wanted....
Beautiful moment at the end there :)
Why it has qr code 🤔
*WOW.....TUNGSTEN CHASSIS, HOLY MOLY.* BEAUTIFUL
Bonjour .Elle est magnifique. Ce n est plus de l horlogerie .mais une oeuvre d art.exceptionnel.pg.
"Digital Art" "Ecosystem" what a chatterbox
I saw this on tiktok 😆 beautiful watch, I don't think I could justify the €400K price tag 🤯
WOW! What a design! The Ultra looks amazing to me.
Hmm...so, how thin is the glass on this? I wonder how its water resistance rating.
I wonder if it has any flex?
Bela engenharia!
You lost me at the NFT part
An investor once purchased one Stamp for $12000,000.USD having said that at a price point of $400,000.USD it took BVLGARI company 3.yrs.to develop with lot's of $$.I really like the look of this watch⌚Question:eventually would it be made in stainless steel,Gold or Platinum? It has the thickness of let's say 4 Gillette razor blades ?? I really like it because on like many other beautiful brands it's more exclusive......😃
Who wants/needs for that QR code to take half of the space? Why didn't they use that space for the dials is beyond me...
They can't place the dials on top of the barrel without stacking a couple of gears. They would have ended with at least .3mm more of depth defeating the whole thing.
Nice watch
How much

Price ?
Next year 1.7 mm 😋
PS Incredible achievement and great video
Next year 1.79 🤣, break previous record
An amazing piece of engineering. Still, I don't think it's justifyed calling it an ecosystem.
Bellisimo ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
supposed to be a sports watch, now it's the most delicate thing ever. one knock on a rail and it might be irreparable.
What part of Tungsten and Titanium sounds delicate to you?
@@JuanPablodelaTorre at 1.8 mm thin. You wanna buy one and let me test if it will bend?
@@DonLee1980 Why would I? 1mm tungsten rings would damage the hammer when you try to smash them. Even titanium crushes hopelessly.
I don't need to test again something that has been tested countless times.
Это шедевр в мире часов!!!
This is a great piece of engineering. But I still think Piaget’s previous record holder in this department, remains the better looking watch, is not limited to just 10 examples and is also customizable.
I agree.
Superb engineering but about 390.000 out of my budget.
It's super cool and it's an amazing accomplishment. But it looks like it'll break so easily. And I don't mean a careless break. I mean the parts look like they'll wear off easily.
cannot scan that watch's QR code
Yes you can man, we did it in a video 👍🏻
As amazing as they looks i never bought them because every single time I wore them it feels like a toy watch..
$400k for you but not for them lol damn that watch is amazing
@ 3:08 Scanned the QR code and wasnt dissapointed.
Amazing engineering marvel, but the designers forgot that a watch is meant for a wrist... It doesn't fit. It sticks out like a sore thumb. And the NFT 😂
I bow to Bulgari!
🎩
Helal olsun.
It's only a $5,000 watch without the NFT 😏
You’re trippin man 😂
So basically they wanted the space of NFT when they could have used it for some other complication .
Biutyfull
NFT Watch, asking for 400,000 euro. hahahaha. Oh you're actually serious. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
HAHAHA
Obviously not meant for the middle class 😁 great engineering though
Everything but the QR code..
RM , Bulgari, Piaget made thinnest mechanical watch.
Nft.. You got to be kiding me. Great watch, ruined by the QR and NFT. A 400k watch should be timeless. NFT is already dying.
Next time they will put a mechanical movement under their skin on their wrist
QR code made it 350k less what it's worth
The QR Code is a sheet
Weather you wear a $ 30 dollar watch or $ 2 million dollars.. they both tell the same time...
damn thats crazy, i never thought about that
You’re clearly not paying for the time then.
Why wear shoes when cheap flip flops work better, why drive when cycle needs no gas? You so dumb
Very Cheap price
Looks stupid, thin is ugly, wtf a qr code ? If it was digital & analog watch maybe...but is mechanical only.
I would pay $10 to look at it but wouldn't buy it. I don't see myself buying this thing at all. Stop reinventing the wheel. Just make a watch with better materials that's all. Like platinum hands and a solid gold second hand. A Titanium case and bracelet and sapphire crystal. Then invent lubricants that don't need service for 100 years. Make it water resistant to 2000 meters and on a single full winding, it can last a year with a solar motor that helps it. Better yet, make it nuclear power 🔋. The sell it to me as it will last 1000 years before needing a nuclear fuel replacement. Thin doesn't mean better. Just make an indestructible watch next and we will talk about it. Good luck selling this thing to a brainless millennial. I can't buy it even if I had the money 😕
Oh god barcodes abd NFTs, we have gone full r*****, this could be made in China for 25$
The QR code is a cheap gimmick that devalues the watch.
