That little squirrel was saying “nope, you’re mama now- deal with it!” Lol cute little stinker.
We've raised a couple hundred of these little ones. Naturally, we lost some along the way but the successful ones have gone on to make plenty of cute babies just like this little guy. Some of our girls would even bring their babies to show them off.
Seems like these 2 babies may have been released with no visible shelter to use, unless they provided them with a small home that just wasn't shown in the video. Do they know how to forage for food and building materials to craft a home with?
When people say we shouldnt mess with nature and help these creatures i think they might not have noticed the 100yrs of urban sprawl we live in now.
Nature has been "messed with" for years, follow your heart ❤
@@HighlanderNorth1 Many people release squirrels with a home, but it's not necessary. They may quickly leave the area where you released them anyway if it's the territory of more dominant squirrels.
Their nest-building skill is instinctual, as is foraging.
WHEN they're released is important tho--not too early, not too late, haha! 4 months or older is an optimal age, but if it's already late Sept you may want to wait & release them the following spring/summer. Releasing too late in the year means they don't have time to build shelter or store food reserves.
Sweet!
@@HighlanderNorth1 I'm not sure. But we gave our squirrels hammocks and handmade wooden boxes to practice nesting, and they were transferred from indoor tanks to outdoor release cages to get them use to the sounds and the weather patterns. We usually released them at nearby parks, where they and their descendants have flourished for years.
I have rescued two baby squirrels. They are some of the most affectionate animals ever. So sweet and never a dull moment.
An absolutely beautiful video to start off the morning. My grandma found a baby squirrel that fell out of the tree and broke his leg and nursed him back to health! He kept coming in through the dog door every now and then so she made a whole house for him inside 😂😂 it was so great seeing him laying inside his little space when we came over..great times
What a great lady. ❤
Squirrels are such adorable animals, and can be very friendly too. There used to be a blonde squirrel who came up to my house every day and would take nuts very gently out of my hand and she made her way into the hearts of nearly everyone in the neighborhood. Sadly she died a few years ago from a huge abscess on her mouth. RIP Blondie
Love how he kept running back to them lmao
I love how squirrels have built in scarves!
Aaagh! They DO, don’t they?! 😃
Wildlife and all of nature deserve our respect and protection 🐿️💙🥰🐿️
My wife and I saved 2 baby squirrels two summers in a row. Both times my dog found them and was adamant for us to follow her and both times we were surprised to find the babies. Both made it back to the wild in a few weeks 😉👍🏻🐿
Oh, that’s so sweet! My husband had a big, dopey lab mix that would find little field mice and lick them, tend to them, etc. We’d rescue the spit-covered mice while profusely complementing the dog for his gentle, caring nature. 😅
There are two types of labs, this is one of them
Вы что? Я только белке пригрозил пальцем и белка оказалась на моей груди. Вот так ничего не боятся
I’m a squirrel-buddy with an albino squirrel, on Vanderbilt University campus. Love seeing videos like this one.
It's wonderful that you're son is exposed to the animals you rescue, it teaches him empathy
Such a heartwarming rescue! Who else can't resist the charm of these tiny creatures? 💕
OMG…if this wasn’t the cutest thing! So happy they were able to save this tiny little munchkin and give her a family to bond with ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for giving them back to their natural habitat! They are so happy to do what they naturally need to do. You're a very kind, nurturing and selfless person. 🐿 ❤️
Dodo videos are ALWAYS the best! ❤ Thank you!
Little floofer!
My brother in law found a baby squirrel in Canada it was so cute
I’m amazed seeing the variety of squirrels on Dodo. Our squirrels are a dark copper brown. Tail included. No stripes no tufts on ears no other color but copper brown.
Idk I will ever be able to let these cuties go back 😢😢😢I know nature is their place, but my heart
Thank you for saving this little baby ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for the update, The Dodo..!! The heartwarming story of a woman's kindness and care towards a tiny, helpless creature truly warms the soul and serves as a reminder of the power of compassion. ♥
Beautiful angel ♥️🤗
Young squirrel just moved into my backyard a few weeks ago. I don't let him get too close (don't want him too comfortable with people), but he loves to just hang with me. Especially under the awning when it's raining.
I want it, I want it, I want it. So cute.
Soft little cutie pie ☺️💖🌈
❤Awe, she loves you❤️🏴🕊️
Simply brilliant! Wonderful work you do!
They are so precious 🥺❤️
Amazing baby squirrel.. It was so cute!
So cuteness ❤Thanks 😊
Thank you for helping these little squirrels.❤ 😊
I LOVE SQUIRRELS YOU CAN CINDA TELL❤❤❤❤
Imprinting. Works great on all types of animals. We imprinted our horses. Awesome relationships! Such a blessing from our Creator!❤
I love this, thank you! 😊
Thank God for people as good as this!
If you see a young squirrel on the ground, it's very likely the mother will come get him/her. T. Leave the baby where it is, keep pets away, & just keep an eye on the little one from a safe distance. If it's particularly cold or wet weather you can provide little one with a warm blanket or box (with blanket). A gently warm--not hot!--hot water bottle with a blanket on top will help them retain body heat.
Best not to handle little one, but if you absolutely have to, that's ok--it's not true that a Mama will not take in her baby again if it smells like humans. NOT TRUE. Generally the only reason a Mama will abandon her baby is if it's injured or sick.
There are situations where baby squirrels will need extra help: if it's particularly young (esp eyes closed) & Mom isn't showing up; if it approaches you, which is often a sign the mother has abandoned it; or if you can see it appears sick or injured.
If over time the mother doesn't return, the most important steps are to get little one warm, & call a wildlife rehabber asap. Hopefully they can take the young squirrel for rehab, & give you instructions in the meantime. Don't try to give them food or water right away, especially if they're cold.
😍😍😍😍😍
Squirrel bites can cause wet bat fever. Be careful
TY for the info
People like u are a real blessing the precious animal population!!
Sweetheart
Baby squirrels know when they need help
ABSOLUTELY..!!! ♥️ 🐿️♥️ 🇨🇦
Thanks very much for saving this precious life ❤️
Been there and have done that. My kids all learned how to rescue and not to abuse animals. We have rescued squirrels so young they were just “pinkies”. Thank you.
This woman did the right thing!! She saved this baby squirrel from a horrible fate!! But she knew that he had to go back to the wild, around other squirrel's and other species!! It was the best idea!! That's where he belongs!! Now?? Everyone is happy!!❤😊
Squirrels choose you. You don't choose them. This baby lost its mamma. What a precious little squirrel so affectionate 🥰
Before social media, I used to love watching squirrels, and I didn't see anyone else do that. Now it seems they're popular.
How cute little baby creature darling. Poor baby. It’s been rescued now. Bless you.
This is so cool. I'm just glad a cat didn't find them first. My cats used to bring me trophies until a coyote tried to take my cat as a trophy. They are all indoor kitties now and the squirrels and rabbits are very happy!! Thank you for the video!!😺
🐿️❤
Absolutely beautiful baby, and your story is precious!
Do these poor critters know how to find food and water in the wild? Obviously they were provided for when they were with humans, but do they know how to forage on their own?
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good people doing good deeds…makes the world a better place! You are all proof that ANGELS WALK THE EARTH
After a hurricane in 1979 when I was 7 we found a baby squirrel in a milk carton and another was given to us. They went everywhere I went and until we sent them on ther way. Took a while but it was worth it. Recently took care of a baby racoon now he and friends come to eat every night.
I have a couple of squirrel friends. I've fed them for over a year...and spent a few hundred dollars on peanuts. Such a beautiful baby...I love it!
Best Wishes

This has to be documented and funded. Such a successful rehabilitation.

Once they unfortunately lose their mother while still young the first living thing they set their eyes on, they imprint onto you. I had two squirrels do this. As soon as they seen my little brother Julian (Who passed away a week ago RIP❤) then me, they became very attached. If we tried to leave they would cry with that high pitched screeching or they would chase us then attach themselves to us. They were so cute.
So lovely
There was one just a little bigger than that one who followed me the other day. It walked to me. I picked it up. Looked it over. Said hi.. than set it down. It wandered off.😅😂
The squirrel's saying, "You can run but you can't hide."
it's going to need therapy due to abandonment issues
It was already too late. They bond quickly. 🙂
Squirrels are so adorable ❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤💋👌🏽
Squirrels are fine as long as they don't get in your attic and cause damage, as I experienced. Had to pay thousands of dollars for sealing.
So sweet. Thank you❤
Awesome job guys!
taking care of two right now!
we have a birdhouse in our backyard that the squirrels took over.
they have their babies in that house and use it in the winter to
keep warm. my dog always barks at them and chases them
but doesn't hurt them. the squirrels also tease him. LOL.
Thank you for your effort 🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful...
Squirrel: GIMMIE that hand back!! MOM! yes I said MOM!! tag your it no take backsies!!
so cute. you have a new buddy
I rented a room from a woman who has a rescue squirrel that refused to leave for a time..talk about love..she made the entire MASTER bedroom a squirrel enclosure with a run thru a hole in the wall to an outdoor enclosure. She slept in a guest room w her 2 adult dogs🤣 Squirrel ppl ❤️
OK, that made me laugh! I also did that for my cats, had a contractor cut a door through the sheet rock, set up a cat pole for them to drop down into an enclosed room on the back deck. They could then go outside 24/7 and be safe. All the litter boxes got out of the house too, a bonus!!
Awe bby 🐿️😍❤️
OMG! Just too cute! 😍
Lil floof
I’m just curious if someone could tell me how they can be cared for and hand fed for so long by a human and then released into the wild. How do they know where and how to find food and shelter by themselves all of a sudden?
So cute
Cuties!!.
Keep it away from power lines LOL
Who "lols" their own comment?
@@user-dh6bj2me5p I guess I apparently do
♥♥♥♥
@@user-dh6bj2me5phow can you tell?
I feed several squirrels that live in my trees in the yard and im patiently trying to get there to trust me and come get peanuts from me. Reading the comments here are really encouraging me that maybe one day they'll get used to me 😅 I just love them so much ❤
Lovely ❤️
🌻❤️❤️👍
I'm actually surprised they didn't allow them some practice in a tree or similar environment before releasing them into the wild. They would've naturally had some of that practice if they'd grown up with their mom in the wild, right? It just seems like an odd choice, I guess.
Squirrels are definitely cute, though, lol.
