- Mario Kart is one of the most broken franchises of all time, so what better way to show this off than by looking at EVERY single mario kart game. While I’ve made a video similar to this in the past, I wanted to give myself a second chance at this behemoth of a task as I feel there were a lot of things that I could improve on.

Corrections:
in SMK it doesn't matter what lap you're on when you do a lapskip, it works on every lap. The reason Su (cstrakm) does it only on the last lap in his TAS, is because it's faster. usually after getting put down you waste a lot of time accelerating back up to full speed,
When I mentioned how TAS lead to mario kart super circuit being even more broken, I feel as if I implied that it wasn’t broken BEFORE TAS even though it most certainly was… (like this game deserves its own video type of broken)
For the Mario Kart Double Dash Mushroom Bridge Skip, I said that you did the lakitu hop followed up by the hop off the bridge but its the other way around. You do the bridge hop first AND THEN the lakitu hop
When I talked about snaking I said “with a help of a certain dry bones” and then went on to talk about snaking. Let it be known that you can OBVIOUSLY snake without dry bones and I think that’s clear in the video but I’m writing this just in case it isn’t. I mean I had to talk about my boy dry bones.
in MKDS on rainbow road, you don't need to do the 2nd shortcut for the 1st one to work, it'll work just fine on its own 👍 i think there's some confusion. It's true that when the shortcut was first found, it didn't count the lap. It was later found that if you drive just a bit farther forward to hit a checkpoint, it'll work. This has nothing to do with the 2nd shortcut,

*NEW INSANE SHORCUT DISCOVERED*
ATTENTION! Look at the Electrodrome world record in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. It is insane. This strategy is known as motion glider, allows you to use motion controls along with your joystick to greatly increase your velocity. It is present on almost every track with a non-cannon glider, but Electrodrome is the first track to utilize it in such a crazy manner. Also, there is a gap jump possible on Dragon Driftway, and Snow Land has one. The Mushroom Gorge gap jump is still possible. So yeah, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the least broken Mario Kart game, but it still has some cool stuff. Maybe someday...

The electrodrome motion glider is crazy, I saw it a few days ago 😮
It can be confirmed that it breaks the checkpoint system.
16:39 That's intentional, because the checkpoints are wide enough so that if you perform the skip you don't get picked up. Nintendo knew about it, they manually decided to make it larger
You know just like double dash was broken to its limit, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would also be broken to its limits.

Hey! It's iMathII, I watched the video and you explained a lot of things well- most things in fact. I'd like to clear up just a couple things though
in SMK it doesn't matter what lap you're on when you do a lapskip, it works on every lap. The reason Su (cstrakm) does it only on the last lap in his TAS, is because it's faster. usually after getting put down you waste a lot of time accelerating back up to full speed, but on the last lap you don't need to worry about it. Aside from that, you're good though! I would encourage you to look into some more time trials shortcuts though, you might not be aware of them :)
Same thing with MKSC, Su's TAS doesn't even start to give an idea of how broken of a game it is- but I see you recognized that in the description, so there's no problem there! I can't send a link, but the time trial world records are definitely worth looking into
and also.. did you know in MKSC grand prix you can complete a lap in 0"03 using just a banana, on almost every single track? that's an interesting one that not many people know about 👀

In general, the video was really good! And it takes a lot of courage to fix things afterwards like I saw you did in the description, I'd love to see more MK content from you and sharing this with the world :) However, I think you should seek out community members when you do your research, we're happy to help! I can tell you did a lot of research, but there were still some holes that could be easily fixed by getting some of us to check it for you- and it's not easy, but it will level up your content from good, to truly masterful work, this is what Summoning Salt does 👍
But anyways, I enjoyed the video!! I hope I wasn't too much of a downer cause I want to see you continue making content like this, you're really talented and hard-working :D and your final product is really awesome, keep it up!!
i appreciate this comment SO INCREDIBLY much, when it comes to doing research for these videos, i do get a bit intimidated asking for help (especially after some experiences) but 1) i’m glad i did mostly good :) 2) your world records are SICK 3) i’ll put your corrections in the description but i’ll also heart this so people can see and4) you were not a downer with this comment at all i mean your criticism was very constructive and you were nice about it
also i do want to make a video about super circuit at some point as i don’t know much about it (other than the fact that it’s super broken), so if you ever want to help fact check with that or anything just let me know 👀, because i feel as if the game is super under rated

Best way to break Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would be to use the OG Mario Kart 8 to figure out how the checkpoint system works

You forgot about unintended shortcuts in Mario Kart Home Circuit
My favorite unintended shortcut is strapping Mario to a high speed RC car and driving that through all of the checkpoints.

I felt like that Nintendo almost pulled up a "Fine, I'll break it myself" on MK8D after seeing that people found missed potential in some BCP tracks.
... Then again, would these still be unintentional shortcuts if the developpers went out their way to break their own game after being used to see their community doing it to the previous entries of a series?
i mean even if nintendo gives the green light for it, it would by TECHNICAL DEFINITION still be an unintended shortcut as they didn’t design the track with said cut in mind but are moreso just saying “yeah go ahead and do the cut we won’t stop you”

while I know the mechanics within MK8 differ quite a bit from deluxe (with the inclusion of fire hopping and what not), i just honestly didn’t think to mention it considering that deluxe has outdated it in many ways
