Sometimes if we have the food and not able to sell it, we can give it away too man! Sometimes we too selfish. Tek moni out of the equation and share love.
Pricing is one of the main problems why food wasting a lot of people going hungry because they cant afford no because they dont want to eat fruits some s of the sellers have no concience
It is amazing that you brought this subject up because I was just watching a blog that showed evidence of this. There were mangos rotting on the ground, and I wondered why they weren't preserved in some kind of fashion. Your blogs are very enlightening.
When you live in Jamaica you don't see it. Until living abroad , guess we take it for granted. Anyway brilliant info. Bless up Colaz .& Yourself.. one ♥️
Thanks for this informative video.I agree with everything you said. Distribution and education are the main thing to solve most of this problem , I think you should get on the broad of RADA and help them to implement a plan to help the farmers.
Good thing posting this video, more people should be aware. Yes, totally agree with you, each community should have a weekend farmers market. Plus it's always nice to get together with your neighbours. When I was young going to school in Jamaica my parents would always send bag full of fruits for the students and teachers. Don't know if it was a thing then but we didn't waste food.
@soulmode7 , you and I both got the same idea. Whenever I watch I always reach for my notebook and also share the videos. Thank you Mr Educator for another great lesson. Blessings always
My youth mind yourself. Assassination in a disease in the air. 🤣🤣You are diverting fast food customers. I love how you are thinking. It's simple manoeuvres like what you are suggesting I would love to see our politicians looking into and it doesn't need "millions of US dollars" to initiate. Great content and presentation. Thumbs up my youth!
Exactly so .My dad was a farner and he made a lot of money in Jamaica to send his children to College, build a beautiful home & buy land to leave us an inheritance....So don't tell me we're poor and many leave to go abroad to struggle... I've always said this & i thank you for saying this. My girlfriend & i talk about this all the time .. And i want to come back home to help manage and train, and educate to prosper.. I am on board..Its the lack of education & post slavery & colonization struggles...God knows why i came accross this video......I am saving this video &:connect with you later on when i come to stay for my transistion extended time..
Very informative Michael,I saw your video last week for the first time and fell in love with your knowledge and wisdom of things,I agree that we waste souch food, and Jamaica. Parents need to incorporate/encourage more fruits in their kid diet ,and the Government needs to export more of Jamaica food internationally.thanks for info
I have been searching all over the internet for anyone who is selling otaheiti apples. I was thinking that they could export it and other fruits. They would sell. There is a company, Miami Fruits, from out of Florida selling online, and some fruits are from overseas
There is a lack of cold storage, and this sector is crying out for investment. This way, we could have a lot of these produce all year round. This could solve the problem overnight.
They're selling mangoes right now even though it's mangoes season for 2 for $6:00, imagine they should be selling a bag of mangoes with eight in a bag for $6:00. Caribbean food stuff are so expensive yet it's only a 4hr flight from the islands, the fruits and food will not spoil, there is no need for this price gorging.
I always said that Jamaicans don't consider fruits as food. I have heard people saying that they haven't eaten anything all day, but they have eaten over a dozen mangoes since daybreak. When I asked them, but I saw you eating mango!? They said, that is not food. Even "Food" and "Meat" are categorize as separate meal.
Bring back AMC everybody Bring the little that they have and they select for export government talking about about planting mango for export we have toomuch wasting
There is too much government dependency in Jamaica. The gov needs to facilitate the environment for business and allow private citizen ease of business.

Jamaica is one of the RICHEST countries in the world. We do not manage our resources well. 3 star fruit in a Supermarket in America is for $2.5o but we don't pay it any mind. Our fruits are the BEST but they're is no market.
Well keep in mind they weren't even talking about fruits are vegetables the word mostly talking about shop-bought food so there would be much more than number one position if you were taken into account those other things I've been saying that for many many years
That's what I thought but no. In total they waste more food. But the study is based on per household, not total food waste. It's similar to how they calculate crime per 100,000 of population. #1 was a Middle Eastern oil rich country
@@homeandgardenfixandtricks6938 I’m Jamerican and if my parents taught me anything it was to not waste food. My American wife wastes food like it’s her job. It’s absurd.
Portland cottage cannot grow nothing because the government scrape off the top soil leaving mall so some part of Jamaica is poor when growing food they built the small house without fencing them off
That's why I'm not buying the 'poor people, we a suffer, we hungry crap'. The world have begun to steal our food ideas cause we dont know the value. To quote Proteje - "Man deh in a city hungry and nuh eat And food deh down a country just a drop off a di trees dem You see say proverty nuh real den Is what the reasoning revealing".
Nothing wasted brother 😂 it goes back into the soil to rebuild and maintain good organic soil .....the cycle of life .....but i do understand us not being creative to store excess for our consumption and export for foreign exchange....
Is anyone surprised? I'm not, I've been talking about this for years. So to you hardworking diasporans who think ja'ans are dying of hunger, keep ur hard earned money. They are spoilt.
People, please help to push this video by sharing the premiere with friends and family. Bless up

I wish someone could see this so that it could become possible. I applied for a job at RADA years ago, and I wasn't even short-listed

You are most welcome 🙏
Great video! Been thinking a lot of all the beautiful fresh fruit growing in Jamaica and how rich and blessed Jamaica is❤
Very rich and we dint even know it
I knew this since COVID and I have pictures to prove it. Yet we don’t send food to Cuba or Haiti or other places.🤬🤬🤬🤬
Exactly so ...
I can well believe that look how much mangoes you see lying on the ground. Left over is thrown away rather that refrigerating
A you fi be the Agriculture Minister

That's a low hanging fruit that could reap significant success as you rightly said "overnight "

Facts
The tourism industry waste the most food in Jamaica.
You are right. That needs a video
Interesting
Sharing this with many❤
Thank you Tina appreciate the love
Great very informative
Thanks
You are on to something. More scientists and engineers are needed. Industrial knowledge and economic reset.
Indeed
Real Talk Sir.
Respect for the input
The government can open factory to create to jobs and make fruit jelly and juice and so many many others things
And use it to feed the students on the PATH program rather than giving them the bag drink they are currently giving thrm. That could be a start.
Excellent suggestion
There is too much government dependency in Jamaica. The gov needs to facilitate the environment for business and allow private citizen ease of business.
Excellent suggestions
God bless

So true, it's unfortunate, but it's the reality we face these days.

I wouldn't believe a thing from un
Fruits is God given food but most of us don't want it, we pu it aside and eat the man made garbage
That is it. That mindset must change
Nothing wasted brother 😂 it goes back into the soil to rebuild and maintain good organic soil .....the cycle of life .....but i do understand us not being creative to store excess for our consumption and export for foreign exchange....
That is right from a biological and ecological perspective 😆 🤣
Is anyone surprised? I'm not, I've been talking about this for years. So to you hardworking diasporans who think ja'ans are dying of hunger, keep ur hard earned money. They are spoilt.
True, we are blessed and don't even know it.
Jamaican kids now a days dont love fruits give them snacks pizza burger artificial juice u name it
Indeed. We the adults, must stand responsible for this. We are failing our children
So why you hiding sir?
I'm not hiding just my style. I'm visible in many other videos
@@homeandgardenfixandtricks6938Tell her to put her picture on her channel, all of us are hiding, but i guess people see what they want to see.
