    My cousin showed up one day while I was tightening down the last bolts on my 92 Sport SKS driving a tundra that didn't sound right... I was curious so I checked and inside was his old Galaxy engine 🤣
    He said he's working on changing the piston and the seals, and he said he's making use of a good engine... I was in awe and smiles... how those old engines were built 😁
    Awesome work, very gifted mechanic work! I was kinds skittish to tear one down, now nope... also got my cousin to call just in case, and double check my work. Awesome video, very great work... I got great respect for those who have this type of knowledge and know how because in AK if these stop running...

    Hi my 800 xcsp I bought and fixed ran great for 3 days and the mud flap was hanging and I forgot to fix it and tht day my friend took it for spin and somehow the sharp turn and mud flap got caught on track and tore the track and the screws sticking out of track were flopping around on a rubber peice and tore a hole /groove into the antifreeze cooler and by the time we relized 3 mins or more empty or half empty we got it to road and turned it off pulled it home and fixed leak and started it next day it ran but first lap it start white smoking everywhere and out the spark plugs fluid spraying out and I turned it off and sat for a year or two and now I jst got gasket kit ..sorry this so long but my question is if I replace the gasket and it stills runs no noises will I be good to jst switch the gaskets out cause I wanted to jst ride it but when I was filling it and the antifreeze bottle never fills up so I think it’s leaking into the engine but im hoping 2 years in the garage wouldn’t of hurt it to bad let me know wht u would do if u only had enough cash for gasket kit

    In your opinion when do you consider a refreshing the top end? from all my research a stock 99 700 with 824 cylinders came stock with 125psi of compression on the cylinders. When would you consider a fresh a top end? 110psi even run it, 105 or less refresh the top end? One old mechanic from Polaris I spoke to said in some of the PDI’s he done some had 110PSI compression from factory? Not sure if that’s true.

    Appreciate this one bud, I got a question for you though, would someone be able to slap a set of 800 VES jugs on a 700 non VES crank and case? I got a set of good jugs for an 800, and the top end just went in my 700, so I'm wondering if I could just buy a set of 800 pistons, rings, and gaskets, and slap her together or if I'll need to get some new 700 cylinders and pistons since it grenaded them.

    • @AKproXR
      @AKproXR  Před měsícem +1

      Iv had 770 big bores based off 800 cylinders in the past, as well as 700 based. If using 800 cylinders the upper case needs machined to accept the 800 cyl skirts, runs a Yamaha 65u over bore piston and spacer under the cylinders to correct pin hight.

    Removing the wrist pins with a 6 lb hammer and punch is hard on con rod bearings don't ya think?

    • @AKproXR
      @AKproXR  Před rokem

      Absolutely! Wish I had a 6lb hammer, would get them out much faster that way. 🙄
      I have mentioned is multiple videos stating that is not the correct way to remove a pin. It does however work in a pinch.

    • @AKproXR
      @AKproXR  Před měsícem +1

      97 is the OG, minor revisions in 98 primarily the head and most models in 98 had 824 cylinders, 99 the cooling system was revised and all models had 824 cylinders as well as crank locator ring moved to a more centered bearing in the case VS on pto bearing like the 97-98’s were, an additional oil line was added and eliminated mixing fuel at the fuel pump and was oiled directly to the carb boots, when swapped to racked carbs oil was provided to the carbs rather then the boots. 02 all 700’s were VES as is known to be the best performing 700 big block engine, 133~ hp on 02. 03 slightly detuned, 04-05 had the addition of a knock sensor in the head to detect detonation as well as electric revers (PERC)

      Commented before that part , didn’t beep beep beep , had a snow checked 1998 , ate a deer , put a clear lexan hood on it , and a P.S.I center dump pipe , couldn’t get it jetted properly , way outta recommend , called them up , said what’s my problem ? They didn’t know , they got back to me the next day and apologized , they didn’t know Polaris had two different sets of jugs , had to send them my pipe & glass pack muffler , they modified them , sent them back to me , and all was fine , that machine was faster then my 2002 XCSP 800 , disappointed in the 800 , traded it in on a 2000 Victory Sport Cruiser my buddy bought a XC 700 off the floor , my 700 walked his , when I got the 800 , he was faster , everywhere but uphill , 800 had the 1.25 track
