  • Völuspá (Prophecy of the Seeress) is the first and best known poem of the Poetic Edda. It tells the story of the creation of the world and its coming end related by a völva or seeress addressing Odin. It is one of the most important primary sources for the study of Norse mythology.
    The prophecy commences with an address to Odin. The seeress then starts relating the story of the creation of the world in an abridged form. She explains how she came by her knowledge and that she understands the source of Odin's omniscience, and other secrets of the gods of Asgard. She deals with present and future happenings, touching on many of the Norse myths, such as the death of Baldr and the binding of Loki. Ultimately the seeress tells of the end of the world, Ragnarök, and its second coming.

    I'm from Brazil and dont understand a single word this fantastic singer says. What I know is that he does what a real artist is suposed to do: enchant you, take you to another world. He owns a primitive, emotional, manly, epic, sad, powerful, awesome voice. He has a gift, for sure. About the "viking discussion" below? Peace, guys. Let's listen to Mr. Einar Sevik.

      ESSA É A TRADUÇAO DA MUSICA
      ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
      Escutem minhas palavras, todos os homens
      Vocês, grandes e pequenos filhos de Heimdall
      Você me convocou Odin, para contar o que eu me lembro
      Dos feitos mais antigos dos deuses e dos homens
      O sol fica negro, a terra afunda no mar
      As estrelas brilhantes caem do céu
      Chamas queimam as folhas de Yggdrasil
      Até uma grande fogueira alcança as mais altas nuvens
      Irmãos vão lutar entre si e matar uns aos outros
      Primos vão destruir a paz entre eles
      A velha árvore suspira quando o gigante a balança
      Yggdrasil permanece de pé, mas estremece
      Garm uiva horrivelmente ante as portas para Hel
      O lobo vai quebrar suas amarras e fugir
      Cachoeiras fluem e águias voam no alto
      Caçando por peixes entre os picos da montanhas
      Eu vejo um salão erguido ali, mais lindo que a luz do sol
      Chapeado com ouro, em Gimle
      Ali homens corajosos vão morar
      E aproveitar alegrias em suas vidas

And if you really want to get naked go have a sauna and then jump into a lake like the real Northern Europeans do and then follow it by drinking half a bottle of vodka or brannevin...skoal!

Old Norse or current Icelandic. remember that Iceland was colonized by Norwegians, but in Norway the language changed due to several things such as the plague, and being under the control of the Danes for a long time. SO where in Norway the language changed, in Iceland it stayed "pure". hope this is helpful to ya

    • @LasagnaQueen
      @LasagnaQueen Před 6 lety +5

      I mostly referred "cucks" as people who bow to religions that take away their ways of life. Just like what is happening in the occident at the moment. Surely Vikings were open minded, but until the abrahamic toxicity of Christianity came upon them; they were living true to their culture, but that religion ate them away just as our culture is currently dying or just as my own culture was drained away by colonisators.

    • @sarahgray430
      @sarahgray430 Před 5 lety +5

      I agree with the original message...Einar has denied any affiliation with neopaganism and criticized the way in which some of these groups use Norse "paganism" to diguise their Fascist political agendas as spirituality. I admire him for doing so.
