In my opinion this is one of those songs where the studio recorded version doesn't do it justice. This video has so much more impact than any other recording I've heard of this song.

i think you could be able to play the first part in 6 months/about a year. the hardest thing is the right hand because he's fingerstyling it + flamenco/classical finger picking idk how is it called. 2nd hard thing, the masterpiece is fucking 9 minutes long just imagine reading the tabs and all the stuff. now i have seen a lot of people be like "god skill he composed this". this ain't god skill. i just think its the masterpiece of his life and he has taken the time to write it. he didn't write it in a week for sure. I can write in all humility really good pieces (which are clearly not this one) with 11 years/12 years of playing the guitar. He is 46 so he was 36 when he played this he maybe had 22 years of guitar in the fingers. finally id say that its clearly not skill he just is a prodigy because even if i played my entire life, i would never be able to write something like that. I think i would be able to write the first minute of guitar if i am inspired as hell. It's like Marcin Patrzałek, it's like Koji Kondo which composes music....
Virtuous musicians don't write their music down (or at least not necessarily), they can play it by feeling the melody and chords. It's hard to discribe and I am sure I am worlds behind him even after playing the piano for over 28 years, but I just imagine and sort-of listen to the melody in my head and then just play what I "hear" myself...
I just still can't believe that these so many fantastic sounds were just made by one man and one guitar.
A lot of women got pregnant from those sounds, too.

I saw him playing at Kazan State Big Concert Hall (Russia). It's no stadium, but it's a big beautiful place :) He came on stage and communicated with the audience as if we all were in some small room having intimate but simple conversation. Amazing feeling. And after the perfomance there was a line of people who wanted to thank him in person. He gave a hug to almost everyone :) Some unique man. With some unique understanding of the world.
What I was trying to say - he got his audience. From some point of view, it's good that he's not THAT popular. Although, maybe the world would be a better place if he were.

A friend of mine, kickass classical guitar player, actually made a very accurate tab and video playthrough of it, his username is Gsteinmuller, look for that and "song of the golden dragon", it's a video with a red background and it has a link to the tab :)
