    Needed this after putting on 285s on the runner, no more rubbing! Oh and loved the video, straight to the point! 🤙❤️

      Thanks man… hoping for the long travel kit in a few months. Life is busy lol…👍🏼

    This is just what I needed. I also put 33" with a 1.5" spacer (so effectively 3" lift). I had a shop do the BMC, and when I went to put the flaps back on they were still rubbing at full lock - on the bump that was there to accommodate the body mount! Now I gotta flatten that out. Thanks again for posting a useful instructional.

    Now I want mud flaps!

    This is awesome! I had used this method to prep for 285's, but then ended up having to remove the mudflaps altogether to get sliders put on (of course)! Also, a lot of 5th gen owners end up getting aftermarket wheels, which affect the rubbing situation as well - was nice to find a video where someone had kept the stock Trail wheels with 33's (kept mine as well, just had them powder coated).

      Right...i think this setup is the most utilitarian setup that can still be a daily.
      A long travel is nice in the rear though.
      Which that is coming next with a rear locker..😃

    Thanks for posting this and nice rig! Can you post a video about what’s been done to it?

      Yea i was gonna do a budget build video soon since i have a few people asking.
      I use mine for exploring and over land and with 33s you can get to just about any place you need to go if a road is already there. Plus with 33s no regear and you can still use it as a everyday driver. Thanks for watching👍

    When you say 33" do you mean 285/70/17? Did your tires clear with just the TRD off road wheel offset or did you need wheel spacers as well? Any other fitment issues? Did you rub on the bumper or body mount? Looking at putting them on my 4runner with the same wheels and wondering what to expect. Thanks.

      @johnnysweekends  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes 285/70/17. The vehicle does have a lift though. As they will not work with no lift. 2.5 in the front at least is needed for minimal rub. No wheel spacers are used on mine. I did the mud flap...i pushed the front of the inner liner and moved the mount holes a little. And took off about 2 or 3mm of the lowest part of the inner fender with a razor blade, its just plastic there. So its easy.

      @@johnnysweekends Awesome thanks for the reply. I have a 3" lift so I think I should be okay. Main thing I want to avoid is the body mount chop

    • @johnnysweekends
      @johnnysweekends  Před 3 lety +1

      Exactly im running same setup. Didnt want to body mount as well. I think the 33 inch with 3 inch lift is the best bang for your buck. Ill be doing a budget build video soon after the holidays.
      I think the only other thing that would really add to the 4 runner is a long travel for the rear. Ill be doing that later in a few months.
