- Finally picked up my new Z4s! They're absolutely incredible! Mounting these was an absolute pain in the ass, but they went in and this is one of the reasons I kinda HAD to go for Zs, since no other regular woofer would fit in LOL

Should of put the sub through the port and hand it to someone else on the side of the box window and then that person could set it in the hole.
Doesn't fit in the port either trust me we tried!
@@barevids Why is your port only 3" long at max? How do you calculate that you can have only a 3 inch port length?
/b/ Tard looks like a 6th order bandpass. So lower chamber tuned low and top chamber tuned high. Bigger the chamber the shorter the port length, which is why the lower chamber port is also quite short. Just guessing on dimensions but it is probably around 15 inches x 45 inches x 60 inches in the top chamber which works out to approximately 23 cubic feet or approximately 650 liters. Port looks to be approximately 32 on top and around 18 on bottom x 18 so average width of probably 28 inches or so x 18 inch height. Put that info into a slot port calculator and you end up with a tuning of around 52.3hz at 3 inch port length. Probably way off on measurements but it gives you an idea of how the port length can be only 3 inches.
Less risky just to make that hole bigger..

Is that $7000 sub have a glued surround instead of stitched?
Properly surround is far stronger than stitched. This is mostly used on cheaper Chinese woofers and was a thing of the past, eg. Kicker. All of the main brands are moving away from stitched surrounds now ie. New DD redline, SQ, sundown, DC, Orion, GZ, etc. This is one of the things I learnt at DD headquarters from Jassa himself after putting in the research and experiments on stitched vs non stitched.

How many alternators are gonna fill your battery bank? I learned the hard way that big hungry subwoofers require big electrical modifications. A few 300amp singer or mechman maybe? Or are you running your bank dry and refilling with a converter overnight?
The Z4 are the opposite of hungry. They're so efficient that they need very little power to get going. And not very draining on the supply. But, I will have x2 350a alts anyway, and either x4 XS D7500, or a whole load of lithium.

I wouldnt recone those that magnet is small as hell and the gap is probably small you could probably only fit a 2.5inch vc.

An engineer would tackle the ergonomics problem of maneuvering the weight for reassembly. A plank over the hole, magnet in first, place basket on top and bolt together. Flip and remove plank. Might take the time to ask youtube viewers for suggestions and pick the best on your next swap.
That would have taken about the same amount of time or longer than this did. That's the same both motors off, both motors back on. Plus then we'd have to flip them upside down while in the box with very little leverage. Trust me when I say we explored all possible options and this was the easiest. It wasn't just turn up and do the first thing that came to mind.

Nope, we tried it through the port. Didn't fit. Also due to the horrific weight getting it up and through there without leaving nasty gashes on the build wouldn't have happened

Dude please answer me..Didnt anybody try to put amp in car with batterys connected in series?-so the amp voltage can get 2x150V and run the amp with no (12 -->2x150V converter)?? You would save much power (on convertion) and wire (copper-wires can be much thinner worth 10-15 A or so)..Is that even possible?
this is exactly what the Brazilian high voltage 250-300V DC amps are. Problem is you have no way of charging the batts with the car. You have to charge it at home all the time.
