  • In this video Salvatore Vinciguerra travels to New Orleans, Louisiana to visit the St. Louis Cathedral. Salvatore shares with you a short history of the basilica named after Saint Louis, King of France. He also highlights the location of the cathedral in the French Quarter and Jackson Square. Then, Salvatore brings you inside the church and gives you are virtual tour of the altars and unique features of the St. Louis Cathedral which include murals, stained glass windows, a clam shelled lectern, wooden confessional, artifacts from the visit of Pope John Paul II in September of 1987, and the crypt which is located below the floor of the cathedral.
The Saint Louis Cathedral is one of the most photographed landmarks in the United States of America and is open free to the public. Please remember to be respectful when visiting the church as there are people praying and sometimes masses and weddings going on inside.
