We were there in 2012 & I was amazed at how much smaller those rooms looked in person but what really struck me was how narrow that driveway looked in the north portico & made me wonder how many times they've 'traded paint', scrapping up against that last pillar coming out of there... Such a wonderful tour & I'd love to go back, we weren't allowed to take pictures at the time we went through.
This a 200 year old infrastructure I’m amazed how it still holding up today
There must be lots of maintenance. Lyndon Johnson moaned and groaned about the lack of water pressure in his shower. He made them fix that to suit his obsession about it.

Not long at all. We lined up outside where they check your reservation for about 10 minutes, then maybe 5-10 minutes at each of the two screening stations but I was with a group of 30 students!

How is it an honour if the it is the people's house and the public tours have taken place for years now?

Thank you for this video. We went yesterday and left totally disappointed. The only good part was us stepping inside the White House, which is something many will not ever do in life. Your insight on the rooms made my walk through...well rush through worth saying we went. They literally rushed us through in 10 minutes. Glad it was free

To me the white house looks so basic if there were many rooms and extensions like the Kremlin Moscow Russia it would be cooler
It looks like it wouldn’t be nice to live there, large empty open rooms, and rooms that are furnished you have to be careful about not accidentally destroying artifacts, if I was president I’d rather live in a cozy small little house
The president's family resides on the second floor, and on the third floor, there's plenty of space and things to do. They also have a bowling alley in the basement, a theatre room, etc. I think it'd be alright to live there, but being president doesn't seem fun to me. I'd like to live there as a family member though, maybe. As a teen, I probably wouldn't have liked it, because you probably can't get away with much, and coming and going probably isn't fun.
