    On Aliexpress if you search "crawler transmission metal gear" you can get full metal ones (case and gears) for like 25usd. Might be worth a look!

    I have one similar to that but it's all metal gears but it came with a solid mounted 48 pitch spur gear. It's one tough transmission. It handled my 6 year old son on 3s with those huge deep woods tires. He beat the shit out of that scx10.2

    I'm very surprised that there aren't more choices of "good" aftermarket transmissions and digs for us. Trailing, climbing, bashing are all fun. But, for me I've found crawling to be the most fun and challenging. I would love to see dig units that will engage with less wheel rotation. Having to move a vehicle so far sometimes to align the digs disc segments for engagement is sad. I've seen in your videos how far you have to move sometimes for your Capra's digs to engage. This sometimes puts you so far out of position the dig becomes useless at that point.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 3 lety

      yeah man, I have to consider myself lucky when it hits right. I'd love a better more precise way to lock up the dig

    ahh its all good, just shows real life, stuff doesn't go right. As a cheap replacement it would work, but personally think its better to spend a bit more to get the all metal ones, the vanquish dig didn't fit the one I had though, as the last gear doesn't have the 3 piece construction to fit the supplied outputs. and the case is braced a bit different than SCX or Vanquish 3 gear and wouldnt close all the way. just an FYI

    I have a some questions about an scx10 II. I want to mount a Power Wagon cab only on mine, except I have the extremely long 2 speed style transmission, which will stick way past rear of cab in the bed area. How much would it take to install a short normal axial trans. In my rig? I know trans, trans mount plate. Don't know in drive shafts will fit. Any info you can offer is appreciated.

    I bought one of these and the inner gears seem to skip teeth. Must have a bad gear mesh. I just got an all metal transmission though for $18.95 on eBay. Hope that doesn’t have any issues.

    There really aren't any applications where shielded bearings are better in RCs. Most of the time shielded bearings are used because they are cheaper. The only instance I know of where that's not the case would be vitavon and that case he just doesn't know better in spite of me trying to explain it to him.

    • @imchris5000
      @imchris5000 Před 3 lety

      I wish they would just put ceramic or stainless bearings in crawlers from the start its a pain to change them all over. they always use ones that get a single drop of water on them and seize

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC Před 3 lety

      @@imchris5000 ceramic or stainless really won't make much difference. The most important thing is that they are sealed and that they are high quality.

    • @ExocagedRC
      @ExocagedRC  Před 3 lety

      you don't see many rubber sealed bearings in motors, also the rubber seals are a friction point and in the case of the TRX4 transmission that friction adds up to more heat and a loss of efficiency, I like rubber sealed bearings more than the shielded however I'm about to try the NMB shielded bearings in the back end of the lasernut as supposedly they are a stronger bearing, we will see.

    • @ExocagedRC
