Great Video Ray, very informative , i hope everybody is watching this video to the end , the last 10 minutes of this video is very important and informative, taking care of the employee who sticks with it through thick and thin and you got their back is very important and means alot as a owner as a boss and as a decent human being.
Hey Ray i read the comment someone wrote about each truck and man should generate $1500 per day. I had to laugh because this person doesn’t know the first thing about lawn care. Hope you get rain soon.
Happy birthday Toby!!!! Alot of great topics in the video . All relative to whats going on in The Real Lawncare Industry. Customers missed a payment on me only 40 dollars but i still reminded him and he was out of town as well. Payed both payments immediatly. customers are like lawns all different.
Hey Ray Ray Great video 😊 I could use a month long drought lol it's been raining a lot for the last two months. I also do junk removal and do the more manual labor jobs too. Hopefully you will get rain soon 😊 Tell Toby Happy Birthday 🎂🎈 Take care Ray Ray and God Bless
I'm in Savannah GA and we have been getting rain here and there but the sun still seems like it burning grass. Most of my clients don't water their grass either. So I've started cutting no lower than 3in
thanks for the videos today and yesterday man glad you showing some gratitude and knowing theres a blessing in all this. we all going through it. im over in prattville AL still mowing a few here and there and got them trim jobs 2 to do tomorrow oh yeah one day at a time brother
As hot as it is been we can’t be in a hurry, getting older is something I’m learning every summer, this heat is no joke I think making pre payments on skid steer is a great idea, less stress is always good, I have a enclosed trailer I’ll sell you for $100 to get out my back yard 😂 I wish you were closer, I could use your expertise on getting it back on the road, not much wrong with it, just don’t have time to fool with it, I’d hate to be in year 1-2 in this business right now, being a veteran out here I’ve got a tone of side work, all that work comes from evolving and having integrity with my customers!
I haven't had any yards skip yet but I feel it's coming. Bahia is growing and crab grass is still growing. But I do have my full time job I work as well. Don't take this as being nosey but would it be better to be double downing on the house vs skid? I saved 30k in interest paying my house off when I owed 54k. Idk what interest is on the skid. Just an idea brother. Feels so good to be debt free at 39 but this isn't my forever home and I want a shop exactly like yours one day. Just hope my health allows me to continue many more years.
You're right.I could double down on the mortgage. It's 6 and 1/2 dozen or the other. The interest rate on my house is 3.5%. The skid steer is 2.9%. I already pay a additional $250 a month on the principal of my mortgage. My thinking is keep the chucky (The only extra payment I have that I did not have last year) ahead of the game. The skid can earn me more money to pay the mortgage off quicker as well. So in 2 or 3 months from now I may do an additional $200 On the principle of my mortgage, the skid really helps me have the ability to pay everything off if I just pay the house. I'm not earning money from that. That's my Thinking. Not to mention the skid , is relatively new I don't have a track record yet of years of paying on time like my house. But you're right, man. I really don't see a huge difference in that. it never occurred to me to pay any more on the house till I get the skid paid down some The house has $62k left. The skid I only owe $34k on the skid
I am new to this channel. I went back and watched a lot of your videos. I watched the video where you show your somewhat evolution. How is it you have not yet been able to scale? Are you just comfortable? I am not in the lawn care business. I am in the grading and hauling business. I've been in business 6 years and have been able to scale to 4 dozers and 3 excavators. I employ 6 full time employees. I run 1 of the dozers. I am just wondering how you have not scaled to the next level.
Well I went in business with no training - no money -no credit- I had a office job as a Civil drafter for a engineer- Market crash 2007-2010- No job -got married -just bought a house! YEAH -UGLY! My biggest mistake was hiring guys that were unqualified-and not knowing nothing about managing people or managing their time as well as mine-not knowing how to teach/train-I could go on for days - having unreliable help has always been the Bottle neck-. I have always been real good with the money end and really good now with time management and just got a new responsible guy working. So in a nutshell LABOR AND FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN IS WHY I HAVE NOT SCALED UP
i never even ran a skid steer until 2018- much less ever hauled one and all the trailers needed and no background- i was just in survival mode the first 8 years- But learning. I have a nice solid base of lawn care customers- providing a nice living been doing 85% of my customers 5 years or more.
If 2 trucks are operating. 1 man per truck. 2 trucks 2 men. Each truck should generate $1500 per man In an 8 hour day. For you to be profitable. You and Toby should be generating $3000/day. $500 dollars? That is what highschool kids on summer vacation are making. Business may not be your calling buddy.
😂 you must be working in them Hollywood hills. Most people in the USA are hurting from high inflation. 8 hours mowing at 1500 is $188 an hour. Idk but even my most profitable yard I barely make that at $150 it takes me 45 minutes.
This heat is a crucible. The best shine and the rest whine. Lets get it Boys!!!
Ray will survive no matter what that what you do. 👍

This is where it pays off to only take higher end yards with irrigation

I’m a trucker I come down to Fairburn every so often
Cool that about 20 miles from me

Glad to hear your insurance isn't paying for it, 👍
Happy birthday Toby!
I have enough side work to keep me busy for awhile, the drought is actually helping me.
I'm trying to get into house soft washing. So I can be busy in the winter too.
Happy birthday toby.
This dry spell is all over the country Ray. My son is skipping yards right and left. We are in Ohio.
👍🏻

I wonder how I have made it all these years.
I have never made $3k in a day cutting grass.
I don't know where you got your business degree at but you're way off man. Sounds good on paper , but the reality is not that.
Don't worry, man. This dude is out of touch with reality as he sits behind his desk somewhere doing nothing but watching ray ray videos
