Can you tell me for how much you sold the coin just for interest? I was thankfully getting 13 of these beautiful coins from Secondary market ( average price 160€ equals 265 AUD )

We got a single digit original allocation, which was sold at AU$165...

What is the first opal coin in this Lunar serie? I found a lot of similarly minted coins from 2019 and before. From 2020 and further tne year of the rat they came with a different Box with a transparant front. I have all the coins from 2020. Does that mean I have a complete set? And what about all the other similar minted opal coins only a different box?
What is the introduction price from the Australian mint? I live in Europe and I can not directly buy them and had to buy them from secondary market with a hefty price tag of €220 Euro's what is AUD 365.
I don't know how the price can be very stable for years even before 2020 and I payed both for the rat and OX €100 and with the very popular tiger it went up to €180 Rabbit I hoped would be cheaper but went over €200+ and now the dragon is between €220 /€240 what would be astonishing AUD 400.
But if I look at prices for the 2020 and earlier coins. Nice and populair ones will rise to probably between €500 €700

As far as we know, the opal lunar series started in 2016 with the Year of the Monkey... We would consider the full set when you have full 12 lunar animals, which means from 2016-2028... To be honest we not sure what was the original price in 2016, but the Year of the Dragon was retailing for AU$160 here from the mint.

@@TheCoinCompany Thanks for the info. And yes it would be complete if you have all those opal animals but the box changed in 2020. Can that minor change mean that you can say that if you have started your collection with that particular set with transparant top, that that is a newer part of the serie.
And wauw. The secondary market just made it 2,5 times expensive and they were not limited to 2 pieces so that is kinda unfair making them such gains over such populair serie.

@@LennardA320 to be honest, we don't think the box change the series, the mint would count it as off 2016.
The mint limits its sales by 2 coins per person too, since it is extremely popular. And yes, this is one of those examples, where coin value had more than tripled with time.

The lunar calendar begins with the year of the rat (1st year). The fable says there was a race to finish line. The rat hopped on the ox’s head then crossed the finish first. However, the Perth mint began production of this collection in 2016 - year of the monkey. Whoever picked up the monkey coin is sitting well as the price has skyrocketed.

@mrmomo305 Yes, that can explain why it is sometimes a bit confusing. And also because the Pert Mint has many Lunar series that just started at different dates. And you are absolutely correct that older ones like dog rooster are very high valued
